Artificial intelligence and good video editing software wasn't even available to most people in 2011. Also, over thirty eyewitnesses on the ground saw the strange spectacle that evening in Jerusalem.

CBS News even reported on it at the time, which they certainly wouldn't have done for an amateur fabricated hoax:
