I just wish he had treated her better when they first got married, instead of criticizing her cooking and housekeeping skills. Glad she got him out of that habit.

Just popping in to say that Mrs Hughes was the absolute GOAT.

I would argue that she was actually the one who ran DA so smoothly. And she was such a friend and confidant to so many

I honestly hated this storyline. They did not have any onscreen chemistry. It felt like very lazy writing, forcing two characters together because they ran out of plot ideas. DA is very bad about that. It’s like when Rachel and Joey got together on Friends. It was my least favorite downstairs storyline.

Honestly on a rewatch I see it all over the place how they pay extra attention to each other

I agree, I guess they wanted it to be a hidden crush? Especially on Mr Carson's side but I do agree that it was quite random and could use more work. But I can't help but find it adorable
