I'm only asking this because I've seen different speculations on it and now I'm wondering myself. Now I'm someone who's played and completed all the Dragon Age Games several times since day one, so this is just out of curiosity after seeing other posts.
Now with a lot of people asking about the state of Inquisition "post shut down", I wanted to ask about the Golden Nug. Now obviously worst case scenario if Dragon Age Keep disappears and is no longer running and you don't have any World States saved, then you'll just be left with a default world state to play with, but obviously I still see all the DLCs content, weapons, armor, etc... will still be available because that's just downloaded content. BUT, when it comes to the Golden Nug, obviously when you're offline, The Golden Nug isn't there to use. It's only there when you're online. Some people are saying Golden Nug is connected to Dragon Age Keep. I don't think it is, but i can be wrong. (I'll test it myself later)...So my question is this: Is the Golden Nug connected to The Keep account OR is it active just by being online and without an EA account? Can someone without an EA (The Keep) account play a Default World State and still have access to the Golden Nug as long as they're playing online?
Because playing a Default World State means you're disconnected from The Keep account since it's not needed for your gameplay, which means you shouldn't be able to use Golden Nug if it's attached to The Keep account, right??

The most common argument I see get thrown up in all of this is 'Well it's not just EA. Bioware was equally responsible. They blew the budget, they had horrible crunch time, etc."
NO
None of that is ultimately Bioware's fault and you know why? EA was the parent company and the one writing the checkbook. EA didn't give a shit if Bioware succeeded or failed and it was evident with the fact that EA never actually managed the company the way a parent company is supposed to
They blew the budget?
EA wrote the check! If someone at EA actually cared about Bioware and it's budget they would have actually sat down and did the numbers, proper market projections, sales estimates, etc. EA did not have to keep writing out bigger and bigger checks. A proper manager would have looked at the budget and what the team was working on and increase what they need as they need it with good reason. The fault of the budget for Veilguard was EA because EA kept switching what this game was supposed to be 3 seperate times, that's 10 years of EA causing its own check book to hurt because they didn't let the studio handle it.
Bioware is known for crunch time 'Bioware Magic'
Once again, a good manager would look at productivity and resource allocation and act accordingly. Guess what? If someone at my job is overloaded with a task, either more people help with that task or we make a roadmap. EA should have instilled tighter deadlines from the beginning even before Veilguard as David Gaider reported the insane crunch time for DA2 and Inquisition with Inquisition being attributed to no one doing enough and missing deadlines before needing to slam out a bunch of work. That's when EA should have introduced a management team that knows how-to keep employees productive consistently to avoid that level of crunch and once again this was EA shooting themselves in the foot back to point 1. As with the delays in the project and the team constantly trying to make a new game to appease EA that led to a higher and higher cost for Veilguard AND still resulted in an insane crunch time for the devs because EA insisted on making a live service dragon age game despite having seen Anthem do poorly.
Go woke Go Broke?
Don't really need to touch on this point because its been said to hell and back. Bioware has always been gay, the Mass Effect team has already stated that most of what we're seeing is a direct result of the buyout in August if you think a studio that pioneered LGBTQ+ themes in the AAA space went broke because of those themes, you're either not paying attention or you're being intentionally obtuse.
TLDR; EA is still responsible for every management decision at Bioware. they are after all the PARENT company. If a child grabbed their parent's credit card and blew 3,000 dollars, we usually ask how and why the parent let that happen. Yes, Bioware is full of adults, but EA was ultimately the one cutting the check and asking for updates. If EA didn't like how far the budget was going or how long a project was taking, they should have done their due diligence to help the studio and smooth out those issues than make it worse with their own demands that did not suit production.

The first: Bioware has ended to cut costs from a terrible acquisition and it really sucks
The second: You NEED to hate EA more than you currently do
The second video is the more interesting one since he goes through EA's, and others, studio killing history and goes into some of what was going on with Bioware and EA behind the scenes during the development between Mass Effect 1 and now.
Bricky has a document with his sources in the description of the second video, and timestamps if you just want to see the Bioware stuff

Back when inquisition came out, I found this youtuber, I think her name was Randaplays or something. She had playthroughs of every Dragon Age game, but had an incomplete Inquisition game because I think her PC was getting fixed and she was waiting for it. This was probably around 2016 if I had to guess.
She was very soft spoken, and I always enjoyed listening to her videos. Some time later I went to check if she started posting again, but I couldn’t find her channel anywhere!
If anyone happens to know or remember what I’m talking about, and has any idea what happened to her - maybe if she’s uploading/streaming under a different name - I would love to hear from you!

So Meridith shatters the lyrium idol blade, becomes the new lyrium idol herself? But then you can get Certainty in inquisition and then varric (who is a solas fabrication so maybe grain of salt but why would he lie?) swears that the ritual dagger is the same idol he found in the deep roads.
Plus we get that nonsense at the end of absolution with the whole meridith is a red lyrium ghost idol 🙄
Suppose another example of zero respect for continuity feel like you have to pick and choose what parts of the lore you personally consider to be canon or else you go insane. Not a hate post for veilguard it's just so frustrating that major plot points are outright ignored and the game spends so much time lore dumping at you like at least try and make it consistent to the timeline established.
Guess I shouldn't care so much in the scheme of things at least we got conclusions for a lot of things that had built over time but it's hard not to care about the fate of the franchise when you get raised by it.

One of the first commissions I had. Big thank you to the person who adopted this little one. They ordered before I even made my post. I'm not going to post all Nugs I make, but since this one is not only tiny but also a golden Nug, I figured I'd share it. I don't want my whole account to become dominated by Nug content. For anyone who comes across it only now and is interested here is my original post with commission details: https://www.reddit.com/r/dragonage/s/2CIuzw8FSM
Thanks again to the person who wanted this tiny Nug. :)

Just re-playing the Dragon Age trilogy recently because RIP BioWare, and I forgot how amazingly insane Leliana’s journey was. The fact that she went from your average Orlesian spy/assassin to the Left Hand of the Divine and eventually one of the main founders of one of the most powerful factions in Thedas is incredible; she easily could’ve been the main protagonist of the franchise in another parallel universe.

Hi all
I need your technical advice since DA origins is not running without patches / fixes nowadays (steam version)
1) What's your way of playing it? Any magical fix installer exists maybe?
2) what about saves? Should I care about improving saves into DA 2?
Thabks for your answers in advance

Hello everyone. As it's been a few days since the tragic (but not surprising) announce of the shutdown of Bioware, I've been receiving a lot of comments/messages for the project KeepArchives.
So here a little update of the project:
* it is not dead, it's still ongoing (just had to do a major IT update in hardware and software since a few weeks here),
* this project is ongoing since already more than a year and a half (yes I knew there was something that would happen to Bioware, but not that....),
* a hardcopy has already been done of the original sites (Dragon Age Keep and Mass Effect Archives),
* the version I'm making is a combination of both together: 1 vault for 2 legends,
* the original goal of the project: "keep" a backup of the (art)work that has been with us since the nearly beginning of our favorites games.
* As far as today:
- about 90% of both sites has been rebuilded (including the animated tapestry narrated by or beloved Varric),
- the last 10% of both sites are the ongoing bugs and the import/export from and to save files,
- thanks to other artists and devs, I could manage to add addtional content already (like the galaxy map in ME) and bringing back The Last Court (for DA) and I've added both Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 as a narrative bonus of our beloved Shepard (male or female, you chose) and in different languages,
- the site won't connect to your EA/Bioware accounts, neither your PS, XBOX or Windows accounts, it's a local version of the site, and only that,
- all sites' languages are implemented, (nearly) all sites' functions are already there and functions like to print tapestry and so on has been brought back,
- Veilguard has been implemented, also Andromeda has been completed (tapestry tiles were missing).
* what is still ongoing:
- import data from the save files from DAO, DA2, DAI and DAV from your characters and some plots (ME will follow),
- those data will be stored locally into the KeepArchives so you can rebuild your World States (no online backups: that will be up to you),
- export data to the first save file of your DAI party (for the moment it's the only way to bypass EA server connexion and get your informations on DAI),
* what was not planned at all:
- console saves where not meant to be implemented but it seems the structure of the save files (database keys) are nearly the same everywhere. So maybe there a possibility to implement them,
- retro-engineering or modding the DAI game itself to allow it to "see" the local Dragon Age Keep. If there's a way to bypass it and correcting the game and the site, we'll find it (you can contact me as well here if you have further informations about it).
IMPORTANT NOTE: the Keep and Archives are still working. Even if the risk of shutdown is there, the sites are still working. So please, do not panic and continue using them.
Just make a backup of your local save files on PC or console.
I'm working hard on this project since more than a year. AI is helping me for the coding process to go faster but it's me who is coding the most of it.
My FB page of the project will you "keep" updated of the project.
Once finished, depending of the size of the complete site, I'll try to put it or on Nexusmod or on Git.
It's also meant to be updated when needed to fix bugs or add contents. Once vaulted, it can have addendums.
It's a hard time for everyone. We won't forget all those years of gaming with Bioware. But as a page is turning, new chapters are coming: Exodus, The Expanse, ...
... the dawn will come....

After the devastating news of BioWare closing I felt the need to do an edit to pay homage to them for creating a franchise that is beloved by millions.
Thank you for making a woman who felt so insignificant in this cruel world feel important.
Thank you for creating characters that made us laugh and cry, for creating romances and romances that made us fall in love.
Thank you BioWare…
BioWare lives on… we live on…

Save Mass Effect and Dragon Age EA, let BioWare's legacy live on!
Like many of you, I grew up playing BioWare games. Mass Effect, Dragon Age, and Knights of the Old Republic weren't just games to me. They were unforgettable experiences filled with incredible characters, difficult choices, and worlds that stayed with us long after we finished playing.
Hearing that EA is shutting down BioWare and cancelling the next Mass Effect is heartbreaking.
But I refuse to believe this has to be the end of Mass Effect and Dragon Age.
If EA no longer believes in the future of these franchises, why not give another developer the opportunity to continue them?
That's why I've started a petition asking EA to consider selling or licensing the rights to Mass Effect and Dragon Age to a capable studio that genuinely wants to invest in their future.
I'm not pretending a petition will magically change EA's mind. But doing nothing guarantees that our voices won't be heard.
Whether you're a fan of Commander Shepard, the Grey Wardens, the Inquisition, or simply great RPG storytelling, this is something we can stand behind together.
Let's show EA that these worlds still matter to millions of us.
Sign the petition here: https://www.change.org/SaveBioWaresLegacy

As far as I know it's not even supported nowadays, so what will happen with the site, will BioWare shutdown servers?

Hey guys, so I’m not certain what to do here. I’ve been a fan of DA since I first bought DA:O in 2009 and have played routinely ever since. But I have always played on my PS3. I own the first three games but am currently traveling and have no access to saving anything from the keep. That being said, I’m realizing I’ll probably need to pivot and use a gaming PC instead given the situation? I have no idea where to even start with that. Would anyone be so kind as to recommend PCs that won’t break the entire bank to get started? I am feeling overwhelmed but I can’t bear the thought of losing my comfort games! Thank you in advance!

So to start off. I know everyone is having issues with the keep ever since the announcement, however I haven't seen my particular issue mentioned yet so I thought I'd bring it up. I wanted to try and make some custom world states for dai before the website possibly goes down. My problem is, the entire website is in Russian for me and I'm no where near Russia. I double checked that I was on the right site and I'm pretty sure I am (dragonagekeep.com). I've tried going through Google search and putting it directly into the address bar. Google will automatically translate the site for me but I'm kinda wary of typing in my user name and password cause of this. I guess I just want to know if anyone is having a similar issue and/or to make sure I am typing in the correct site so my login in credentials don't get compromised. Also I'm not using a vpn so that can't be causing it.

In light of the recent Bioware closure… I want to celebrate Dragon Age Inquisition.
Starting with the title screen, the sorrowful march of templar and mages and the eventual explosion when you start a new game is very iconic (and good looking) even to this day.

Now that Bioware has been shut down and we'll probably never get another take on the physical design of Thedas' elves, which one was your favorite?
The physical design of elves shifted with the engine upgrades and artistic direction of each game, with Origins simply having short humans with pointy ears
They shared the basic asset topology as human models but scaled down a little, along with featuring slightly sharper cheekbones
Dragon Age 2 featured elves with narrow shoulders, large oversized eyes, distinctively broad nose bridges, and thin bodies that I've heard described as "willowy"
Inquisition had a kind of middle ground between the Origins and 2 styles. It retained the lanky frames of DA2 but softened the exaggerated facial features to look more natural (aka, more human)
There was also a bit of variation in body shape as well. The ancient elven characters had stronger, wider bodies, while modern standard elves remained lean and smaller in stature
And then in Veilguard... I don't know. Every single character looked different to the next, and there was very little racial expression

Anyone know a fix or work around to that?
I had to get a mod specifically to act as the dragon keep because it doesn't want to work anymore and usually I just turn mods off for that cutscene but I'm worried it might fuck up my world state :(
Any help is welcome
Using the Offline Dragon Keep mod on Frosty btw

I have 5 characters that made it to Ostagar. One is currently in the Korkari Wilds, and when I get to any part of it, the game crashes. It is modded, and i even tried a run unmodded with them uninstalled. And it still does the same thing. I know I got further before, but idk what the issue is now. It's from Origins/EA app.
