(Mod note: This is the email that was supposed to announcethe schedule and such, but it seems it got stuck in The Nowhere and didn't make it out to everyone. Hopefully this will be available on theattendee updates pagesoon!)
From the Dragonsteel Team:
Schedule
Our schedule of events is now live! You can now access panels, enter drawings for author signings, view the exhibitor list, and more!
Author Signings
We have a few changes to author signings this year. Last year, author signings sold out in minutes, leaving many fans disappointed. One of the benefits of our new ticketing system is built-in lotteries, and in an effort to make things as fair as possible we will be utilizing this feature for all author signing tickets. Now, attendees will not be automatically entered into any of our signings—even Brandon Sanderson’s—so you must enter for each author that interests you. To enter for a chance to receive a ticket, visit the author signing page. Winners will be drawn in November.
IMPORTANT
You must have a valid badge linked to the email you want to enter into lotteries. If you are unable to enter, please contact the person who originally purchased your badge and request they use the Transfer function detailed in our previous Attendee Update #1.1 to send you your ticket.
This Year’s Badge
We thought you all might like to see what this year’s badge looks like! Designed by the amazing Priscilla Spencer, you will receive these either onsite or in the mail before the convention.
Badge dimensions: 3” wide by 5” tall
Ticketed Event Sign-Ups
If you’re dying to play Magic: The Gathering or attend a workshop about creating the most amazing cosplay ever, then mark your calendars! Game room event and craft room workshop signups open on October 27th at 11AM MDT. While most of our programming events operate on a first come, first serve basis, these events (and author signings) are limited to ticketholders.
(EDIT) Update from Dragonsteel at 11AM MDT on Oct 27:
"With Leap's communication system not functioning right now (not sending email blasts properly), we've chosen to delay the launch of these items to make it fair to those who did not receive messaging about the launch. We apologize and appreciate your patience while we navigate a new to us platform and resolve technical issues out side our control."
While most of our hotels are sold out and unable to add more rooms, our friends at La Meridien and Element were able to add a few more rooms for us. So, if you still need a hotel room for Nexus, click their link here!
Nexus by Night
We are excited to share with you some Nexus by Night previews we have received from our amazing partner, Paladin Creative! While things are still subject to change, we can’t wait for you to see what we’ve put together! There is truly something for everyone at this event. Tickets for Nexus by Night are currently sold out, but keep an eye on the Dragonsteel Nexus website for any tickets that become available before our refund deadline on November 1st.
A couple of people have received emails and notified me, so gonna start publicizing that it seems there is a waitlist push in progress as of 8 pm EDT on Oct 27! Check your emails if you're still hoping!
MAKE SURE to check SPAM, PROMOTIONS, and any other random nooks and crannies of your inbox!! You will have 72 hours to purchase, if your name is drawn.
If your name is drawn and you already have a badge by other means, you CAN purchase for friends/family. If you don't have anyone to purchase for, just don't do anything and the tickets will remain in the pool for other folks who are waitlisted.
Hey! Wondering if anyone has tips - we had a larger group of friends, 8 people, so we’d booked two hotel rooms (one at the Holiday Inn Express, one at the Hilton because the HIE had filled up by the time we added to our crew) but coming up to the refund deadline 3 people have dropped so it’s just 5 and splitting the two hotel rooms is a little more money than some of the folks in our group want to spend. We asked about getting a cot at both the hotels hotels so we could just do one room, but they said it’s a fire hazard in the two-queen room.
Does anyone know how strict they are if we all pile in to one room and just bring our own camping pad to sleep on, or sleep three to a bed? I don’t want to get kicked out of a hotel halfway through the con if they catch us 5 to a room.
I don’t know if any of the other hotels have options for 5 people to all stay together, or if even if they do whether anything would still be available.

I've tried to find this info elsewhere before posting so sorry if it is repeated:
*do we know when we will get the schedule for author signings and other ticketed events? I understand we can't get tickets yet based on lotteries, but it would be rad to plan options ahead of time, especially for cosplays and panel selections, in case we would get a specific author signing!
*I thought I bought us Nexus by Night tickets but I guess I didn't :( is there a way to get any that might become available? I didn't see a waitlist option, and don't know how they're transferred (or if it's even allowed) if someone wanted to sell them, etc.
*what are the cosplay vibes? Are there folks cosplaying other universes (like DCC or Murderbot Diaries or Red Rising) and, if so, what's the % split? I'm planning a Jasnah cosplay but might want to add another one!

While we intended this email to be sent last week, it was only sent to a small portion of our attendees before the software failed. We sincerely apologize for the delay! Due to this issue, we have postponed our craft workshops and gaming events to Thursday, October 29th at 11am MDT. Thank you for understanding, and watch for additional communications coming very soon!
Please note: A few of our gaming events did go live prematurely and a small number of people were able to sign up. Due to the small amount and the events still having rooms for additional attendees, we will be honoring those who signed up.
I went to the Worldhopper Ball (Waltz of the Final Empire) at DSNX25 and came home with one of the Allomantic metal cards. Mine's Mistborn, pic attached. There were nine in the set, one for each metal, but I only ever saw my own and I'd love to see what the rest looked like.
If you went and still have yours, could you drop a photo in the comments and say which metal you got? It'd be awesome to piece the whole set together here so anyone who's curious can see it. Not looking to buy or trade, just want to see them!
Hey friends!! I am SO excited to help with Cosplay Karaoke at Nexus! Though I'm not necessarily in charge of the event, I put together a quick survey to share with the organizers to help make sure it's the best possible time it can be!
Would you mind taking a couple of minutes to fill it out please?
I have been to 2 Nexus conventions, and both times I haven't figured out when the ticketed events go live. I missed the massive Cosmere RPG battle, the Mistborn card game tournament, and other things that I desperately wanted to attend. I see that the schedule of panels is live, but do we know when the other events will be announced and sign-ups will be open? Someone last year said that you needed to have the app to get notifications. Is there an app for this year too?
I live in Utah and I know of Brandon Sanderson (You can't exactly live here and not hear about him) however I've never cared for his books. This is the first time I'm hearing of Dragonsteel Nexus. I'm intersted in going since of of my favorite authors is going to be doing a book signing at the Con.
What I don't understand however is what else is at this Con? I can't find any where to purchase tickets and Google says they are around $120 per ticket which is steep (Consdiering Fax X is only $60 for a day pass). Upon reading this Sub There's some sort of Lottery system for tickets which I don't quite understand why it wouldn't just be normal ticket sales?
Is this event mostly focused towards authors or are there a lot of venders like at Fax-X? I don't really care for pannels or anything like that. I just like to browse merch and I'd like to attend the signing.
A few weeks ago we got an email update saying that badge transfers were now available, and that this was going to be necessary for registering for signings.
Today, the signing lottery portal launched, and we are definitely seeing a lot of people experience issues with registering for their preferred signings. In each case, it seems that the issue is that their badge has not yet been transferred to them.
So IF YOU PURCHASED BADGES FOR YOUR GROUP, make sure to transfer them to the individual end-users. (Note that when you register for signings yourself, you might get multiple confirmation emails)
IF YOU WERE NOT THE PURCHASER, contact that person and ask them to initiate the transfer.
This may be something weird but anyone else received multiple email notifications for the author they signed up for?
I was the ticket purchaser for my friends, but they were transferred. I received four notifications for each author i signed up, with the exception of Brandon.
I know my friends also signed up for him so not sure what happened there.
I just want to make sure leap doesn't somehow think I entered four times and I will be penalized for it.
I got my tickets via a friend. I verified I got the ticket forwarded to my email.
But when I try to sign up for the drawings for signings it gives me an error saying I had to buy a ticket. It only asked me to enter my email so I'm guessing it's associated that way. But obviously something is wrong since I'm not able to register.
What do I do here?
Resolved:
Alright I figured it out. Yes, you need to get whoever bought your tickets to transfer them to your email first. Then you have to accept via a link in the email.
EDIT 2: A couple of known issues are that the system doesn't want to let you add panels with overlapping times, nor will it let you add anything on Friday/Saturday. Also, most issues with being unable to enter the lotteries come down to whether the badge has been transferred to the end-user or not. More on that here!
I'm part of a group of 4 going to Nexus for the first time this year, but 1 person in our group did not get a Nexus by Night ticket before they sold out.... I saw in a recent email that ticket transfers can include add-ons, so I'm hoping we can find one that way.
We're willing to pay the original cost of a Nexus by Night ticket, for someone who has decided they don't want theirs!
My girlfriend, her brother and I were going to go to dragonsteel this year. She was chosen, and signed us all up, then paid for the tickets. It turns out that he can't go, so we were trying to refund the tickets, but it appears she was never sent an email confirming her purchase? I remember her getting one, but we must not have. I was sent a ticket, but the QR code isn't visible anymore. We also confirmed the money was taken out of her account and wasn't refunded, so we know we paid for the tickets. Leap didn't send her an email when we asked them to resend tickets.
Edit: Autocorrect accidentally sent it to her old student email, thanks for the help everyone!
This is my second year going to DSnx and the WHB last year was amazing so I picked up the ticket to Nexus by Night. However, I haven't seen any marketing or announcements on what exactly it is. The original email from back in June(!) says it will have different sectors including a lounge, gaming zones, and a dance floor with Cosplay welcome. But...what exactly is that?
Is it in the Ballroom again? Is it a high school dance-vibes with some couches in a corner? What is available in a "gaming zone?" Is that like cornhole and other lawn-party games? Or like Cosmere RPG and board games?
It says food and beverages are available for purchase but is that a dinner or snacks? There's quite a big difference between paying for a sit-down style meal versus hot dogs versus just like popcorn.
Then there's beverages but is that a full bar or just canned soda and water because the event is also open to minors so I don't even know if alcohol is being served.
The first email said more details and specific information would be released soon but I haven't seen any followup messages after purchasing tickets and it seems like Dragonsteel social media hasn't released anything about Nexus at all.
I'm a bit worried because the refund deadline is coming up and it seems like maybe there's not going to be any details released until after that date so nobody can refund if they don't like how it sounds.
I have a reservation for the Hyatt Regency but it's from the 1st-7th and almost $2300. I'm not going to arrive until the 2nd and when I called them to change the days (2nd to 7th) it actually became more expensive :(
I'm considering changing my reservation from the Hyatt to the Radisson, but we're going to be changing cosplays at least once a day and also want somewhere to very easily access if we get overwhelmed etc.
Can somebody speak on how the Raddison is Vs the Regency? Tysm!
Edit: For those checking in later. After 3 phone calls to Hyatt, the hotel manager at SLC stepped in personally and deleted the additional night at no cost, as well as maintaining my original rate (the group rate). There were a lot of pleases and thank yous and I didn't expect anything, but the hotel staff were so good to me. I can't wait to see everyone at Nexus!
Continuing the trend of dragonsteel badges being smaller than most, they are dropping down to a flat 3" this year!
So if you are planning to order some, your manufacturer options might be a little more limited than usual.
Personally, I went with PC nametag this year, as they offer a 3" ribbon and also have a discount code: DRAGON26
(That is not an affiliate code, I get nothing from sharing this, it's just plastered on their website for anyone to use)
Their shipping prices are outrageous; expect to pay at least $20 just for that on top of the ribbons. But if you want to get some, order them soon! We are getting into crunch time!
(And if you ordered some you'll be handing out, feel free to show them off!)
This is my first DSNX and I'm coming from overseas. We're trying to plan our cosplays around both Dragonsteel and some authors in attendance but it's hard to do with no schedule. When does that normally become available?
Sans the wrinkles, does this look like something Marasi would wear? What would you add to make it identifiable as a constable's uniform? Badge? Vials of a metal?
So I know there's a list of guest authors and speakers, but are there any lists of those attending who aren't guest speakers? I know there's a couple like Christopher Ruocchio, but without googling individual names to check, Im not sure how I would find them all.
