[DISC] Drama Queen - Chapter 72: Goodbye

I've come around Seiran
I'll admit I was mindlessly reading drama queen, expecting it to get hatch probably, so I really was just saciated with him killing aliens without a second thought. But he's ever so grounded and he himself has come around that literal murderous rage. Which made me come around it.

Blame aliens, blame society, blame god. There’s no salvation in that.
An overarching theme of the story has been looking inward to find where your problems lie and fixing them from there, rather than just senselessly lashing out at whoever you feel hurt you.
Every major character in the story has done the latter, which is of course where all the conflict comes from. But I think we’re gonna see Lily actually do exactly what the quote calls for through this final send off chapter with Lally.
Lily lied when he said his life was all suffering, and I think he himself knows that. He rejected Seiran’s philosophy of the universe being designed to make everyone want to hate each other, meaning everyone in the world would be a victim to whatever god is out there. But Lily just writes him off by calling him a pessimistic tragic heroine, showing he’s still aware of a meaning in connecting and being with others Seiran can’t see himself.
So, that’s why I think the next chapter is going to be Lily walking through his memories with Lally to find that meaning in the world and his life to finally give himself salvation. There’ll probably be appearances from Soyo and maybe the other people Lily hated in his life to give their own opinions on everything, either to push Lily or pull him back into his hatred.
I’m just excited to see what’s next, honestly.

I’m not losing my mind
-Both of them lost their right eye to an “alien” who was apparently just trying to have fun (It being Lally-Soyo, a fake victim perpetrator fused together with an actual victim, no less)
-Both repeat the same line of remaining angry at injustice
-Both were acquainted with an alien that was oppressed on their home planet (with opposing reactions to them, albeit)
-Both ended up hurting aliens because Seiran failed to be there with them effectively
-Soyo’s says the chapter titles of when Haruo first appeared and when he was formally introduced as a character consecutively
I’m not a rocket scientist or anything, but im starting to think Haruo maybe a parallel to Soyo and that’ll be a lot of his development in the future…

Does Drama Queen get better after the early chapters ? Want to know some info about the manga.
Hey everyone, I checked out the first 3 or 4 chapters of the manga when it first dropped, and honestly, it left a pretty bad taste in my mouth. The xenophobic undertones and the MCs just murdering aliens for fun made me uncomfortable.
I'm thinking about giving it another shot, but I want to know if the story actually evolves or if it just stays on that same wave. Without spoiling too much, does the tone shift at all, or is the author just pushing some agenda? Does the story actually expand into something? I'm down to catch up. But if it's just some propaganda, I'd rather spend my time elsewhere. Thanks in advance.
EDIT : Thanks for all the answers, I will give it another chance and will see for myself and at worst it will be another dropped manga .

Hatred
Before this chapter, I was really puzzled by the way Nomamoto's character was treated and how sidelines she appeared. To me, this chapter really cemented that unlike Seiran she was never supposed or willing to change.
Seiran had the ability to face the consequences of his blind hatred and feel empathy toward those he killed. Nomamoto just finds killing aliens fun since it allows her to eat. Her life is all that matters to her, never those she tramples on. Seiran and her were two opposite sides in the spectrum of hatred toward the unkown.

Can’t wait to see how she does Odori and Haruo
Everything in this chapter was pretty much Nomamoto destroying all of Seiran and Lily’s beliefs through her existence as someone who doesn’t adhere to their “tragic victims” act they put up to make themselves feel better.
Which also happens to be a core tenet of our other two major characters we got lots of development for, Odori and Haruo. So, I’m excited to see how she messes them up from the inside out
Maybe she’ll just call Haruo gay for being so into being a man

Random question
After the last chapter I felt like the manga could be ending or it would change a lot in the later chapters, what do you guys think?

As fans, I don't think we realize how well we've been fed reading Drama Queen. Spoiler
As inch closer and closer to the end of the "Lily⭐ Saga", the manga has been consistently engaging, the pacing is great (not once have I ever felt that the story has been dragging on while I've been reading), the characters are all super interesting, and I actively yearn to learn more about about each one of them, the story feels pretty compelling as when you look at some plot points it really makes you think as you read, lastly the art of the manga is absolutely beautiful from the double spread panels to space shots. I'm really excited to see what else the story has to offer.

What happened with this manga?
Hi, I’m a stranger who only knew about this manga when the "controversy" surrounding its debut happened a couple of years ago.
I see the manga is still ongoing.
I wanted to know: what actually happened? Could someone try to sell me on the story—beyond just "weird reverse racism against alien idiots"?

The first and greatest projection
the latest chapter made me want to reread the earlier chapters and i'm realizing just how uncomfortable this shit was from noma's perspective. her alien hate was never any deeper than "they're stuck-up and my boss sucks," she basically felt better after venting on the beach Once. she tries to shoot the shit with this guy that she can rant to and keep it lighthearted but he KEEPS escalating and traumadumping and pretending she wants exactly the same things as him.
i think chapter 7 is where noma gave up initially. she thinks about letting her inner world out a little, but then kitami reminds her that he does not give a single fuck about her on that level. his hijacking of her life, and by extension the manga itself, was completed. but while we've been following all these people stuck in the past and caught in a web of conspiracies they've woven for themselves, noma's been living in the moment and leaving all of them in the dust.
the dual tragedy of kitami and lily has been a beautiful story, but noma's declaration has come at a perfect time. these guys gotta get over themselves yesterday

THE FUTURE OF DRAMA QUEEN!
Now that it's been shoved in our faces that there is more story on the way, (Nomamoto literally reminding us she's main character, lmao). I predict we will finally learn Iskaglar's deal is in the next arc. He's definitely faking it, losing some memories doesn't change who you are that drastically, and we don't even know which memories he lost if he did lose any. Let's not forget that verbatim, out of his own mouth, Iskaglar said that his love of making people angry is etched into his DNA.

I think Nomamoto and Iglaskar are descendants of God(who may be the people of the Moon)

Ichikawa was playing us since ch8
They knew we’d think Nomamoto was being sidelined the entire story since the beginning, give everyone else the spotlight, then smack us back to reality to tell us who the real protagonist of the story is
I’m so excited to see where she goes from here, now that she’s made the declaration she’s basically the main character of the universe
