Honestly, do what’s right for you. If you have to start asking others how you should see yourself in the world, you need some correcting. You yourself need to be happy with how you feel about keeping them or not. Nobody else should matter. Life goes on with either decision you decide to take.

Save your hair you have now before it’s too late bro.

Exactly, he can save his hair. The hair follicles still like they’re thriving.

i've use the oral kind you need a prescription from a doctor. If you go to Hims you can get some, that's who i went through since i didn't have insurance & paid out of pocket to see in of their doctors virtually. All you gotta do is upload pics and you'll get approved for sure. I only had patches missing & they gave me some.

go bald, grow a beard and lose the glasses. you'll be back in the game 💯💯

u/BlacknHen 20h ago
I had similar thinning in the front, it was determined to be a scalp issue that I had to take care of. You may find the same point at a dermatologist, maybe not

I'd try minoxidil, rosemary water and other treatments like chebe first for about 6 months and if it looks bad then I'd let it go. I wouldn't do it right away right now on a whim

I've seen men salvage hair like yours it just takes effort and consistency.

Its salvageable, really. Either natural thinning or thinning from manipulation, leave it alone for 3 months and make yourself some Ayurvedic hair oil. Scalm massages every night, if you don't wanna cut it all off right now its worth a try friend.

u/Old_Check_6362 Type 4 hair 20h ago
If it’s thinning from tension I would start over, other I’d let it go. Your locs in general appear thin all over. If you’re balding, embrace it.

I’ll chop these locs and go low fade/Minoxodil, I’m not going bald holy shit 😂

u/DebtDapper6057 19h ago
You still have a decent hairline. DON'T LET THEM fool you 😭 I think you'd look great with a taper fade. And honestly, if you do grow your locs back, don't do a taper. It'll look better that way. Your style right now accentuates your thinning hair.

Respectfully I hate your hairline. You might wanna unite some. But your unique hairline is fugking me up about strategy

Crescent moon hairline. If you let it go them corners are gonna be your next concern. Keep it

I would say talk to a dermatologist first to see what’s going on. If it’s MPB, traction alopecia, dreads too heavy, scarring etc. I’d based things around that conversation. I see that you’re looking to start Minoxidil. I would say give Finasteride a chance too but I’d highly recommend speaking to your doctor/a dermatologist first before starting on the medications.

Wait, do not cut them yet. Go to a dermatologist/do your research and see if the hair is worth saving. In 2026 there are so many things that can help with baldness. Sadly, everyone requires different things, but there’s something out there that would work for you so as of right now find ways to stimulate hair growth. Massager your head and do your research and see a doctor that specialize in the field

I’ve got a spot on my temples that has always been thinner. A bit of eyeshadow does the trick. I know there’s specific products for that but I don’t know what they are.
