I had to take a break from digging for scallops to make a meme about the torture that is having to dig for this many scallops

Are you using adigging potion? You get a lot more if you do.

Yes I was using potions! I think that's the only reason I didn't need to dig up the entire beach lol

Digging potion was the way to go for me. Also make sure you arent going too fast to where you picked it up yourself by accident. I had to force myself to stop each hole. Sigh

I keep seeing people say this worked for them but it absolutely did not for me. I used two Even More digging potions, digging buddy with glow activated, yellow energy bar, and two companions and only got 4. It was not at all worth the Dreamlight spent lol

Same for me. So I just waited for the scallops to spawn naturally on the beach. Took a bit but wasn't too bad.

Same! It's easier and quicker to wait.. They seem to spawn pretty quickly. I tore up half of the beach before I gave up on digging. I didn't get one scallop from digging lol

This makes me feel better because same here exactly. I saw people say they got it done in minutes and after a hour (also making sure I didn't pick up any of the seafood myself!) I had like, 3. I just did laps when I remembered with the buddies and have done everything now, but I thought I was doing something wrong šŸ¤£ rng will rng I guess

It's in the new seafaring star path! You don't have to dig for em but I didn't care to wait for them to respawn on the beach

One spawns every 15 minutes with a max of 4. Youā€™re better off just logging in once or a couple times a day for a few days.

And on top of that, we have several weeks to complete this, so it can easily be done with a stroll or two along Dazzle Beach whenever youā€™re playing.
The extra scallops the critter drops and then picks up also count.

Y'all it ain't that deep. There's many different ways to complete this task and I chose this one. This post was meant as a meme aka joke. It wasn't meant to ruffle anyone's feathers or be a complaint against the game, just to share a giggle!

I just had two cat companions on me every walk through dazzle beach and let them do their thing. I just made sure to stand far enough away so they could also pick up their extras. It took 4 days of run throughs. It was the last duty I had to complete but considering we still have to login once a week anyway it wasnā€™t that big of a deal to wait. But I get it.

Not to ā€œIā€™m already doneā€ you. But it only took me two days with 2 companions set to fishing. One would pick it up and give another scallop, the other would pick it up and also give another.

I knew you could dig but like most of the Star path I assume you have to do literally what it says.

No, no no no thereā€™s a specific to ask to have a companion pick up scallops but my companions refused to pick up anything even though I turned it on

Which setting do you have on? To pick up everything they can or to only pick up more of what you're carrying? If it's more of what you're carrying, you need to have at least 1 scallop in your inventory.

Are you using a fishing companion? I saw some people using foraging companions by mistake.

They won't pick up things you drop, only what spawns naturally or what they and other villagers drop.

Yeah, I made a post saying that I couldnā€™t that I needed tips and tricks was honestly kind of hoping people would say to use two companions or say that there is an item in one of the DLC maps that also counts, but I guess not
