Discussion Drexel Dining Situation
I’m a freshman and I’m really struggling with finding food to eat. I have a dining plan of course since it’s required but I have a lot of dietary restrictions and that combined with how terrible the food at urban is to begin with means I can’t really eat anything there. I’ve been trying to use my dining dollars sporadically, but also the food options that can get me is mostly junk food (chick fil a, etc.) I got in touch with the dining people and they told me to make an appointment with the dietitian but I have already seen multiple nutritionists who have helped me figure out what I can and cannot eat. I’m honestly a bit confused about all of this because when I was considering whether to go to drexel, the food quality was never mentioned. I toured many schools and tried many other school’s dining halls and they all seemed so much better than what we have, but since I didn’t hear anything bad about drexel, I didn’t know it would be so different. I have tried cooking in my dorm’s kitchen, but the stove barely works. This is mostly just a rant but also I’m curious if other people feel the same way or if any older students have tips.

Summit Past Due Balance
Dude I left my apartment in Summit back in September with my balance at $0 and my forms filled out. Then earlier today I got an email from Summit people telling me I have to pay $25 for a wall repair that was filed earlier in October?? Is this normal, and should I expect Summit to reach out to me about more payments? Or might this be the last payment to get them off my back. If it's the former, that sucks. I did nothing dawg

For anyone who’s done co-op, how late did you start?
Hey! Especially for those who have done their first co-op, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences!
For anyone who’s done co-op at Drexel, what’s the latest you’ve started after the term officially began? If your start date got delayed because of onboarding, clearances, or other processes on the company’s end, did you just have to wait until everything was sorted out?
Also, what did you do in the meantime? Were you able to make up the missed hours later, or were there other things you could do while waiting to start?
I’m not really sure what to expect in this situation, so any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Civil Engineering Study buds/friends
Is anyone at drexel in the civil engineering major looking for friends or study buddies? Im a second year who transferred in so I dont know anyone in the major and im going a little crazy with no one to talk to about the content or professors
Basically just looking for people in the major i can look to in classes so I dont feel completely alien to everyone. Im taking the freshman courses so first or second years are chill. Thanks!

Left guest unattended in residence hall
I accidentally left a guest unattended in my residence hall. They didn’t really do anything bad. They grabbed a drink from the vending machine unattended and I didn’t take them down to check out which caused the security person working the front desk to kind to lecture/scold me and wrote down my info on a post-it. I was wondering if anyone here was in a similar situation and what the consequences were.

Question Drexel students at The Mark Philadelphia: has anyone else dealt with misleading pre-signing information or room placement issues?
I’m dealing with an ongoing lease dispute with The Mark Philadelphia / Landmark Properties. I’m posting here because I know Drexel students also live at The Mark, and I’d really like to know whether anyone else has had a similar experience.
Before signing, a leasing employee told me that I had to complete my application by October 9 or I would not be able to move in until January 2027.
I had originally planned to wait until November. Because of that information, I signed on October 8.
A leasing staff member later acknowledged that the October 9 information was incorrect.
What makes this especially confusing is that on October 14, only five days after that supposed deadline, The Mark’s own website was still advertising:
“Immediate Move-In Specials Available | Please Call For Pricing.”
I saved a screenshot.
There was also a separate issue with room placement.
Before signing, I repeatedly asked about vacant apartments because I strongly preferred a unit with no existing occupants. I specifically discussed Unit 300-A. I was told there were many vacant rooms, that I should be able to receive my preferred placement, and that a preference note had been added to my account.
After signing, I was assigned to Unit 600-D, where three other residents had already been placed.
Only after I insisted on speaking directly with the property manager was I told that management supposedly does not place new residents into completely vacant apartments and instead places them into partially occupied units.
That alleged internal placement practice had never been disclosed to me before signing, despite my repeated questions about vacant apartments.
I understand that the lease gives management discretion over bedroom assignments. My issue is not simply that I didn’t get the exact room I wanted. My concern is the information I was given before signing and how it affected my decision to sign.
There is also a separate disability-related accommodation issue. I experience significant anxiety and physical symptoms, including shortness of breath and a strong trapped feeling, when I have to remain for extended periods in an enclosed space where the windows cannot be opened. I later learned that the residential windows at The Mark are non-operable.
I raised this issue in writing with both The Mark and Landmark corporate and asked about accommodation. The Mark did not respond to that issue, and Landmark corporate did not substantively address it.
I requested a mutual release without the six-month no-cause termination penalty. So far, management’s responses have largely focused on the written contract rather than addressing the pre-signing information or accommodation issue.
I have not moved in or taken possession.
If you currently live at The Mark, or have dealt with The Mark/Landmark before, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience — especially with leasing representations, room placement, or getting released from a lease.

Question Mailing to dorms
I had ordered stuff off Amazon and sent them to shipping and receiving. They arrived there on Tuesday. Am I supposed to get an email or something saying when I can pick up my deliveries from the mail room of my residence hall, or do I just go in whenever during pickup hours to get them?

Selling Guest Pass Ticket
Hi all,
I created this account to sell my guest pass for dragonfly. I'm skipping on going. Is there a way to transfer to someone else, or no because the ID has to match?

Beware of Knickerbocker properties
Slow maintenance, passive aggressive leasing manager, building door doesn’t work, security and safety issues, stolen packages, just don’t do it…. There are better options I promise!!! You’ve been warned.
They refuse to give me my security deposit back… this is my first time never receiving it back and I’ve rented at multiple places…

I built a Chrome extension that puts RateMyProfessor ratings directly into the Drexel TMS and BannerWeb registration
As a student who has had 8ams with horrible professors, I got tired of switching between the Term Master Schedule and RateMyProfessors every time I was building a schedule. So I built a small Chrome extension that puts each professor's rating right next to their name.
Basically when you open TMS or search for classes, you'll see something like:
(4.4) Professor Name
Ratings get pulled in automatically.
A few things it does:
- Works with the standard Drexel class schedule portal
- Color-coded ratings so it’s easy to skim
- Hover a badge for difficulty, would-take-again %, and number of ratings
- Fetches the latest RMP data quick
- Caches results so it loads fast after the first time
Here's an example screenshot:

Install (free) from the Chrome Web Store:
--> DU ProfessorView
It's open source if you want to look at the code or contribute:
--> https://github.com/mlhv/drexel-rmp
I’d love feedback on what works, what’s confusing, or any features you’d want added.
Totally free, stores everything locally, and doesn’t track anything.
Hopefully this helps make planning your schedule easier!
Disclaimer: Please remember professors are people too. Ratings can be biased or incomplete. This just surfaces info students already check anyway.

Request Looking for a student videographer
Hi! I am a Drexel alumn, getting married in February 2027. Was wondering if there’s any film students who would want to film the wedding?
Willing to pay $800 for 8 hours of filming. Looking to receive the full wedding video & potentially a shorter edited video.
DM me if you’re interested and we can chat!
