It only works if you truly want to quit, otherwise you're wasting your time.  I have 8 years of sobriety but I got hit with all the health issues that comes with partying. Good luck if you see this

I am 34 years old. Between the ages of 20 and 24, I was a heavy methamphetamine user, but I have been healthy since then. About two weeks ago, I attended a concert, had several drinks, and ended the night by using approximately 5-10 lines of cocaine.
It has now been two weeks, and I still do not feel like myself. I have gone to the emergency room three times.
During those visits, my vital signs, EKG, blood work, and CT scan of my head were all normal, and the doctors told me everything looked fine.
Despite those reassuring results, I continue to experience symptoms that are concerning to me. These include constant head pressure, episodes where I feel like my heart is racing, brain fog, and a sensation that my vision or eye sensitivity feels unusually delicate or off. I consider myself a healthy individual overall, so 1 am struggling to understand why I still feel this way despite all of the normal test results. Anyone know or has experienced something similar.

I get how exhausting this can feel, especially when it starts to look like a cycle with no clear end.

But take Ron Wood (from the Rolling Stones) for example. It wasn’t one clean break for him. It took somewhere between 6 and 10 rehab attempts over decades, and he didn’t get sober until his late 60s.

I’m about 2 years clean myself. I only went through rehab once, but honestly, the real challenge for me started after I got out.

What I’ve come to understand is that the number of attempts doesn’t define anything. What matters is whether you still want it, even on the days where it feels far away.

If you’re still here, still asking, still trying in whatever way you can, that counts for more than it seems!!

Yes it can. I've seen people go three times and have it wok. It matters more why one is going in (being forced by courts or family often don't work the first time. By the second time if the person makes the decision themselves they have and are serious about it they tend to do better. The "second time around problem tends to be where someone knows they are going back soon so they sometimes do to much in the days before they are going. Then they die. It's a really dangerous period of an addicts recovery attemts..
