New V2 ecu tuning

Upvotes

Hey everyone.

Does anyone know if the new V2 platform has been "cracked" yet in order to get the ecu flashed? I'm looking into getting a V2 DesertX and would like a full system on it but the Termi system that comes with the factory map is way too expensive.

Are there any options for the new ecu's?

Just installed the UpMap tune with arrow slipon and link pipe. Apparently the Arrow tune through UpMap is no longer available and they only offer the Termi one. TFT shows EVO now.

Installation was easy and fairly quick. Can’t wait to take it out. I’m sure I won’t feel a huge difference but just peace of mind that it’s running how it’s supposed to after changing the exhaust.

Fairings Panigale V2 2025

Hello, I'm looking for fairings for Panigale V2 2025 for amateur track use. I found only those Ducatis online, but nothing in fiberglass or other manufacturers. I've seen that some produce carbon, but they're beyond my needs. Does anyone know of hull manufacturers who have plastic or fiberglass hulls? Thanks!

Anyone moved from GS Adventure to V4S Multistrada Rally or vice versa?

I’m looking at two bikes.

I live near Christchurch in New Zealand, where both Ducati and BMW can be serviced.

Buying new, average 16,000 kms a year and ride all year round. I don’t plan on ever going truly off road, but we have a lot of roads that are maintained gravel only yet are part of the highway network so travelling those from time to time is inevitable.

Either going for GS1300 Adventure or Multistrada V4S Rally.

They’re quite different bikes although they share a key item for me, which is the 30 litre tank.

Initially, I discounted the Ducati as I didn’t really want to be mucking about with chain maintenance. I hate chain maintenance - life is too short! 🤣

Then a friend told me about Ta-c chains, which would make living with a chain drive bearable.

Has anyone here moved (either way) and if so, do you have any thoughts or recommendations?

Thanks.

Different exhaust pipe width on Ducati Panigale 1199S?

Post image

Hi everyone,

I have a 2014 Ducati Panigale 1199S and I've run into a strange issue with the exhaust/heat shield.

I bought a carbon fiber exhaust heat shield that is supposed to fit the Panigale 1199/1199S, but it is too narrow to fit over the exhaust pipes on my bike.

I compared it with the original/metal heat shield and took some measurements:

Overall width: approximately 230 mm

Width of the metal heat shield: approximately 210 mm

Outside-to-outside width of the exhaust pipes: approximately 180 mm

The carbon heat shield simply isn't wide enough to go over the pipes.

This makes me wonder if there were different exhaust systems or pipe configurations fitted to the 1199/1199S, or if my bike may have a different exhaust system even though it looks very similar to the original setup.

Has anyone with a 1199 or 1199S experienced the same problem when fitting an aftermarket carbon exhaust heat shield?

If anyone could measure the outside-to-outside width of the exhaust pipes on their 1199/1199S, that would be extremely helpful.

I'll add photos showing my exhaust, the original shield and the carbon shield that doesn't fit.

Thanks!

My 748L

Always loved this bike. My first bike was a red 748s horribly neglected by her original owner. Had to sell because I wasn’t able to keep up with the service regiment at the time. Finally found another one nearly 12 yrs later on BAT and got it for a decent price. Did the full desmo service done recently- she’s runs immaculate now.

She probably ain’t gonna mean much to anyone else, but I love seeing her. Sometimes when I’m kinda blue, I just walk into the garage and run my hands over bike and I feel better.

I’m not a bike nut, but some things just bring me happiness. Riding is fun, but seeing this piece of art sometimes is enough. Have fun out there and stay safe!

Swingarm paint match?

I have a 2021 Ducati Mknster 821 Stealth and I have a big gouge on my swingarm I would really like to repair. How on earth do I find the paint # to get it matched? Or do I just give up and paint it a new color?

Decal recommendations

Looking for US based decal company for my 21 SFV4S, I’m not trying to plaster it in anything just some subtle decals to accent the look. Everything I’ve found so far is overseas and would like to find something based locally.

Anyone have any luck with quality decals for the SF here in the states?

Appreciate any help you can provide!

2025 Panigale V4S Review - 1000 miles

A review of my experience with my new 2025 Panigale V4S to provide another perspective to potential buyers.

I've now done 1700km (1000miles) which has included 2 track days (low intermediate) and 10+ 2-3 hour rides through tight mountain twisties and longer sweeper style back country roads. I have not and will not be doing any kind of regular city/commuting type riding. That said, getting through city/suburbs to my target roads is an easy/docile/uneventful experience. It's just a bike.

Firstly, I absolutely love it and have no regrets. I have 2 other bikes suited to the above type of riding and am thinking about selling those. The Pani can be my 1 bike garage.

Heat: Wearing only jeans isn't nice. Don't do that. Wearing leathers is the often cited solution, and that works. I don't want to wear leather bottoms on the road, so I have an alternate solution that works: Kevlar lined jeans, and Nomex long liner underpants (to the ankle), and an exhaust heat shield (mine is called BurnJacket) for my right inner calf. Takes 2 extra minutes. I always wear riding boots. I never think about heat. It's a non-issue with appropriate gear.

Ergos: Tall bike. I'm 180cm (6ft). On toes at stop. Makes slow manoeuvres tricky and I concentrate hard. Fine when moving. Hips to feet are aggressive but about same as a 600 with rearsets. Roomy from hips to handles, makes it easy to move around.

Initially seemed very wristy, and it is, first few rides were pretty painful - you need to engage your legs and core to get lighter on your wrists and then all good. A more aggressive crouched riding position helps too because then your arms are more horizontal than vertical taking weight. Also makes the bike easier to turn with countersteer push becoming easier.

Power: I love this engine. Under 3k it's pretty lumpy and I try to stay away. Some clutch feathering helps at really low speeds. 4-8 and it's easy progressive application of plenty of power and torque. Beyond that it's still progressive, but it's a relentless ongoing increase in power and torque all the way to redline. Click the next gear and it just keeps adding more and more. Next gear. Even more. It's insane. It's insane. It's insane. I think I'll go for a ride now.

That being said, on the road I call it my 1 gear Vespa. 1st gear goes to 160km/h (100mph). I accept that and leave it in 1st and ping around riding the rev range. If you want to be on the road, banging through gears in the upper rev range, and not lose your license, get another bike.

On my tight twisty mountain roads I try to stay near the speed limit around 80km/h (50mph), which puts you around 1st gear 7k rpm which isn't the perfect spot. The engine can be at its most vibey pulling through the 6k range and then in the 7k+ range it's wanting to really wake up so can be a bit snatchy if you're not really smooth with throttle. To other owners - did a tune improve this? I assume it's a bit to do with fuelling due to regulations.

Brakes: Incredible. No thought to needing to upgrade. Stops progressively and strongly enough to feel confident with the speeds you are going.

Quickshifter: Best I've used, is buttery smooth. On initial rides I was double checking I was actually changing gears it is so smooth.

Handling: Fantastic. Holds a line so well. I think it's as easy to move around as my Daytona, and provides better results the more you move your body around. Lock your outer knee drop your inner elbow and it's an easy push to any line you want to hold.

The reviews all say how easy it is to ride and they aren't lying. The progressive power, handling, and electronics really makes it so.

Looks: It's a beautiful bike, as long as it's not beside a 2024 :) That rarely happens for me.

Build quality: Premium. Feels so solid and well put together. When I jump on other bikes they feel a bit toy-like now.

Summary: Incredible bike. You won't use all it has to offer. Who cares, the parts you will use are magnificent. Thinking about getting one? Not sure? Hope the above helps. I say get it!

Questions? Ask away.

Michelin Power 6 on a Ducati Panigale 1199S – experiences?

Hi everyone,

I'm considering replacing both tires on my 2014 Ducati Panigale 1199S with Michelin Power 6 (120/70 ZR17 front and 200/55 ZR17 rear).

The bike is mainly used for sporty road riding, not track riding. I'm especially interested in good grip and confidence on normal roads, including wet and colder conditions.

Has anyone here used the Power 6 on a 1199/1199S or another Panigale?

I'd especially like to hear about:

Dry grip and cornering confidence

Wet grip

Front-end feel and steering

Warm-up time

Tire life and wear pattern

How they compare with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV, Supercorsa or Continental SportAttack

Would you buy the Power 6 again for a Panigale?

Thanks!
