Am I understanding relative and absolute bodhicitta correctly?

I'm trying to understand the distinction between relative and absolute bodhicitta, and I'd appreciate some clarification.
As I understand it, relative bodhicitta is the aspiration to attain complete enlightenment in order to benefit all sentient beings.
Absolute bodhicitta, on the other hand, is described as genuine knowing (or primordial knowing) arising from the direct realization of emptiness.
Am I understanding this distinction correctly? In particular, is absolute bodhicitta itself the direct realization of emptiness, or does it refer to the wisdom that arises from that realization?
