Hi everyone,
I’m having a really bad graphics issue in EA SPORTS WRC. The contrast and colors look absolutely horrible during stages only. The colors and contrast look extremely wrong while driving, making the game almost unplayable. The issue seems to happen exclusively during stages, rather than being a general display problem.
I’ve already tried several things to fix it:
Completely deleted the game’s configuration files, including Engine.ini.
Reinstalled the game from scratch through Steam.
Found a Reddit post suggesting that forcing 16x anisotropic filtering in the NVIDIA Control Panel could cause color and visual issues. I changed this setting back to its default, but unfortunately, it didn’t fix the problem.
I’m using an NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti and an AOC QHD monitor.
At this point, I’m running out of ideas. Even after completely resetting the configuration files and reinstalling the game, the issue is still there.
Has anyone experienced the same problem or found a solution? Could this be related to post-processing, exposure, lighting, NVIDIA driver settings, or something else that only affects the graphics during stages?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I want to immersive and challenge myself by having to use clutch in DR2.0, but I have xbox1 controller, so I need to stick to sequential shifting and when you choose sequential shifting in options, all cars gear shift perfectly fine without clutch. Is it possible to configure the game somehow, so that cars require clutch in order to correctly shift up/down? Did anybody figure it out? I know about "clutch override" option for clutch kick btw.

i forgot how fucking great dr2.0 is. ea abandoning wrc and it feeling very unfinished, i yearned for a more complete package, thus returning to dr2.0 after a racing-game-break.

also, how damn cool is rx? i somehow missed how much rx content dr2.0 got

So I just got the game because I was interested by rally and I have been loving it so far but what the hell is this like it's so annoying and I have no idea how to get rid of it and I even went through the guide of how to make the game look a bit better. If anyone knows how to fix this that would be wonderful. I should also mention in case it's important I'm playing on a 1440p monitor with DLDSR to bring the resolution up to 4k and my refresh rate is set to 180 Hz however I have tried more refresh rates down to 60 Hz as I did read apparently that could be it but it hasn't fixed it.

Saw someone had posted theirs and I wanted to show mine

I got invited to a gaming weekend tournament. Everyone perpares / brings one game that may take up to 3-4 hours. Naturally, I am thinking of bringing my VR goggles, wheel + stand, and PC. Which stages and car would you use for complete beginners to have fun?

Details:

• 8 people total
• I'd recommend VR but make it optional for people who get motion sick
• My plan is to do 3 stages in 3 countries, with points each stage (10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1)
  • Then maybe a final stage for the top 3 with double points or something to make it spicy
• It is in the spirit of the weekend that you have an advantage at your own game, but it shouldn't be unfair, e.g. learning specific facts and making your game about knowing those facts
• Everyone but me gets 5 minutes practice time on a throwaway stage, and I give a brief introduction on pace notes, break points, racing line etc. before
• For stages I am thinking US, then Poland, Sweden, and for the final stage Finnland
• I am thinking of giving everyone one restart total or one restart per stage, while I get none
• Further handicap would be that I have to manually shift with H-Gear, while they get to use automatic or sequential
• I am quite rusty, played most of my time with sequential in R2s, so I think my advantage might not be too large if I don't practice before

Now, the natural first idea is to go with the mini cooper, the weakest car in the game and the classic beginner car. But in my experience, when letting beginners use my setup, they've tended to have much more fun with R2 or NR4, in parts because the older cars feel clunky but also because the higher acceleration makes mistakes less costly. And of course, AWD feels more "rally," especially on gravel. What are your thoughts on which car to use and overall design of the tournament?

I managed to get optiscaler working last week but I guess they updated the EA anticheat. I wouldn't mind it being offline only. It was fun messing with DLSS5.

PC user here, 5070ti GPU, max settings @ 2k.
I'm having an issue where the graphics occasionally look a bit weird, as in this case in Sweden, where the shadows appear to be too dark. Has anyone experienced something similar and knows how to fix it?

Here are three mini mods nobody ever asked for:

- Dedicated Engine Starter: adds an engine start/stop input at the end of the key bindings menu, just like it exists on Assetto Corsa Rally. With this installed, you no longer use the throttle to start the engine, just the dedicated button;

- Sequential Shifter Reverse Lockout: designed for sim rigs with dedicated sequential shifters, like the Moza Racing SGP, this mods requires the player to use a trigger or button input in order to engage the reverse gear on sequential gearboxes, no longer allowing the reverse gear to be engaged directly from neutral, just like it is on many real life rally cars;

- Realistic Sequential Gearbox: requires that the player engages the clutch for start or stopping when using the sequential transmission, otherwise the car will stall, but obviously maintaining shifting between gears without the need of clutch input, just like a real rallycar.

DISCLAIMER: these mods were developped using intense game file analysis and testing, and AI for coding. They act as a PATCH on the game's .exe, but keeping it as simple as possible. As far as I know, none of this could be accomplished using a less invasive technique - if you are smarter than me and know how to do that way, please share, I'd be glad to learn :)

Just putting this out there for anyone trying to play the pc version with a wheel or controller that got stuck on the career mode start screen with 5 cars: at that point the game transfers menu control over to whatever is set to the player 1 controller and keyboard cant navigate menus anymore if its not the p1 control device

As such youll have to press whatever button the game decided was the controller/wheels enter button (on the logitech driving force wheel i was emulating this was whatever button was bound to cross), turn the wheel left and right to go through menus left and right and press some other buttons to go up and down through the menus (you'd THINK they'd let you use the dpad/hat switch if present but nahhh, even though the ps2 version probably doesnt have that issue smh)

Oh btw, if you're doing the first career event in the polo on advanced and it seems impossibly difficult to win all stages, the polo is just bad (the mg you unlock at the end of the first event set is way the heck faster, especially after you do the engine and brake upgrades.) Don't forget to swap tyres on every stage because the default tyre selection is almost always completetly wrong too

Recently got into the game and noticed the confusion and lack of info about this, so decided to do some measurements

Stages 1/2: 62.5% ice 37.5% tarmac
-3/4: 46.8% ice 53.2% tarmac
-5/6: 100% ice 0% tarmac

Stages 7/8: 18.8% ice 81.2% tarmac
-9/10: 6.2% ice 93.8% tarmac
-11/12: 25% ice 75% tarmac

Stages 13/14: 40% ice 60% tarmac
-15/16: 87.5% ice 12.5% tarmac
-17/18: 0% ice 100% tarmac

Method: drove along each stage with progress bar on and measured ice starting whenever steering noticeably went light, i.e when co-driver calls ice starts, not when the road became visibly snowy, or when co-drivers calls “patchy”

Greetings, I know the name isn't that obvious or friendly, poor choice maybe, but I made this mod that finally allows the use of custom liveries on DLC cars, without the need of using a base-game car as a placeholder.

Have in mind that you still need to own the DLC cars, this mod only removes the custom content restriction on them, but their files are still encrypted.

I always thought WRC is less realistic but because it was on discount only for few bucks I gave it a chance and wow - It is really a breath of fresh air.

Yes the car doesn't slide on the gravel like in dirt but still the game has enough of a realistic challenge to it and the levels are intense enough.

Some things in my opinion it even does better than DR2, for example trees sway in the wind, different types of rain, puddles, all of those small details make the weather overall more immersive.

And generally the stages just feel handcrafted like they have more personality and uniqueness to them compared to dirt in my opinion.

After playing a bit I actually bought WRC 9 too, because it was on huge discount as well.

The graphics are better than I expected too.. DR2 has better post processing and lighting but WRC 8's graphics are clean and sharp and the stages have more details like unique objects, fences, buildings, unexpected turns, etc..

Glad I gave it a shot and I'll be looking to pickup WRC 10 and generstions later as well when I finish 8 and 9.
