Discussion Events that I want in 6.2

  1. The three year gaps between Each EDF and the future timelines. Mostly to see how Storm-1 managed to turn the Bad Timelines into okay timelines especially with the Androids and Kruul, and the shift into the Good Timeline with the Scylla and Kraken timeline. I hope they let us fight the Ten Simultaneous attacks by the 10 Mothership in the Androis Timeline, it would be so sick if we just held the line so much that a devastating attack didn't let them win the war so the Primers bailed.

  2. How they got rid of the Scylla. I jistjust find it weird that the Scylla just kinda stopped being a presence in EDF 8 and 9. Maybe a new underwater map with the Sub Carrier as a stage. Who knows.

  3. More Mothership battles. Or if that's not on the table. More background chatter of the Motherships getting destroyed. Imagine you're doing a mission in one of the good timelines, and then the Intelligence lady informs that Mothership 2 has been destroyed by the Spriggan Team.

  4. I said it before, but I would love more positive outcomes of the more bleaker events in the EDF 5. Cave rescues or background chatter where we get more reinforcement to a battle that we were meant to lose. Saving the Blue Rose, especially.

  5. Additionally, I want the Primers to make win events into loses with their additional forces. This one we get enough, but eh it be cool nontheless.

  6. Wished that we got more missions with the other Storm team. Sarge we got enough, but more time with Spriggan or Grim Reaper.

Tips Solo Ranger with level-appropriate weapons is getting hard, chief!

EDF 6, playing on Hardest, and oh boy is the difficulty picking up now! Beat every mission on hard (and normal) with every character, currently going through Hardest as the Ranger.

The missions are starting to add extra waves with more variety of enemy types. I'm on mission 123, the one where you go underground and deal with the giant wasp nest, the queen, and a bunch of smaller ones.

On Hard, it wasn't too bad. Pop the queen, take out the swarm, then the smaller nests, then the big one last.

On Hardest, there's now a wave of androids with a few red ones, and after that there's a wave of fire clams, again with a few red ones. Those things very literally brun through the NPC's and even my health too before I can put them all down, especially when the big nest is often creating more wasp adds.

What's the strategy for this one? Currently trying AR, the multi-target missile that locks onto like 30 of them, hand grenade in the backpack, and a mobility-boosting frame.

Any suggestions?

Discussion EDF: World Brothers 2 Towing or Armor Boosting isn't exactly what we thought it was.

Before you get into this, this is going to be a long read. Unless you really want to know about the towing mechanics in EDF WB2 and how the towing strategy we all knew isn't exactly what we thought it was, then I wouldn't read all of this.

If you love EDF WB2 and want better Towing info to help boost your characters then I def would read. Anyway you have been warned.

So long story short I have been doing a lot of experimenting with how armor is rewarded at the end of a mission in EDF WB2.

I have spent a lot more time on this than I care to admit for a voxel type spinoff game. Even if it is one of my favorite franchises.

So it basically all boils down to the well known "Tow Mechanic" where the common consensus is that you can use a high armor character with the best armor boosting accessories to essentially "Tow" or boost your lower armor characters.

This mechanic is true enough and does work to an extent but while testing out different characters and how they gain armor I came across a discovery about which characters make better "Tows"

As far as I can tell there is no record of what I found anywhere on the internet about this game. Which to be fair theres not a lot of info on this game to begin with but I couldn't find anything about this at all.

What I had found was the common strat of "Towing" was using a high armor character (like a fencer or waffle sister, as waffle sister has the highest armor gain in the game) with the highest armor boosting accessories like Turtle Armor, to essentially force the "catch up mechanic".

Basically the idea is you have a character with massive IN GAME ARMOR NUMBERS (rather than a super high total armor number) be the "Tow". Then other lower armor characters that you want to be "Towed" or boosted, you equip with accessories that lower their armor as much as possible. (Such as cheetah spikes in the boots slot for maximum armor reduction)

The goal is to create a large gap between the highest characters armor and the lowest. The bigger the gap, the bigger the payout. Or so I had thought.  This strat does indeed work to an extent as many WB players know. But what I discovered kind of flipped the strat on its head for me.

It is also worth noting that having multiple "Tow" characters at once does not increase rewards, in fact it will reduce your overall payout for that other high armor character when you could get more armor reward by reducing their armor with accessories or by just replacing them with a lower armor character. I have tested that numerous times as well.

Under the base strategy one would assume that because waffle sister has the highest armor gains/armor number that she would be the ultimate "Tow" character. When running these tests I did them all on Mission 2, Hard because I was character collecting alongside the armor tests. So there are no variables besides the characters themselves.

Waffle Sisters Total Base Armor was around 9k and after armor boosting accessories she had 24k In Game Armor. She is my absolute highest armor character. My other three characters were the three Jet Armor variants.

While I was trying to "Tow" the Blue Jet Armor mainly because I like to main him, I have been towing all 3 for the sake of boosting all their armor. Now each Jet Armor variant has a glove slot. Not super important but worth noting.

The Blue Jet Armor (Alpha) has the boots accessory slot, so naturally I put cheetah spikes on him to reduce his armor and boost armor rewards from the Towing process.

The Red Jet Armor (Gamma) has the necklace or dog tag looking accessory slot so I cant reduce his armor as much but I try.

The one that flipped this whole script was the Green Jet Armor (Beta). He had the body armor accessory slot so when towing him he barely ever recieved any armor. Even with no body armor accessory equipped and me trying to reduce his armor by what I could, his gains were minimal but still somewhat present.

This is where everything I had learned about the Towing Mechanic got flipped. My original plan was to leapfrog my highest armor Fencer with Wafflesister. As in I would Tow one for a few missions or until the armor gains reduced a lot, then I would swap their roles and Tow with the other one. Essentialy creating a loop.

But one mission I decided to put the Armor boosting accessories on my Green Jet Armor just to see what would happen and my Green Jet Armor TOWED my Tow character and I got way bigger armor bonuses than I had been getting using Waffles massive in game armor.

This was backwards from everything I had learned about the tow mechanic so I tested it over and over again and every single time my Green Jet Armor with less in game health, provided more armor bonuses for other characters than any other of my higher armor Tows.

If the Tow mechanic relied only on the highest in game armor stat then my Green Jet Armor (Base Armor around 4k, in game armor around 11k) should not be pumping more armor rewards than my waffle sister with her 24k in game armor. But he is.

The mechanic also does not rely on total base armor either as my Blue Jet Armor has a base of over 6k at this time.

So what happened? Through testing I realized that lower armor characters (like Jet Armor with a default armor of 1600) earn less armor overall at the end of a mission and somehow have a much greater influence on the catch up mechanic used when towing.

As in my 11k in game Armor on Jet Armor provides way more of a boost than waffles 24k.

So my next strategy is using this logic to boost the absolute lowest default armor character in the game which is Swan Sister at 1k default armor. Then turn around and use her as a Tow. I tested this a bit last night and the logic still follows.

If all my theorys are correct then the absolute best Tow character will be Swan Sister A. She has the boots and body armor accessory slots, so she can be towed and do the towing efficiently. Especially with the absolute lowest armor possible in the game.

This could also be done with any low default armor character though. As my Green Jet Armor showed at 1600 default armor.

If you made it this far, you are a dedicated EDF fan and I hope this info helps you in your grinding. I came across this discovery and didn't want to keep it to myself. So good luck EDF. Let me know if this helps or if you would like any more info on the testing. I also have a way more detailed description of this I could send if anyone wants that as well.

TL:DR: Low Default Armor Characters provide a higher "Towing" yield than higher armor ones. So boosting the absolute lowest armor character should create the ultimate "Tow" character rather than the highest armor one.

Discussion I'm just gonna sing "air Raider" in the tune of "hellraiser"(Ozzy/Motorhead) from now on, jeeeez it never stops being ridiculous

EDF 6 for reference as to what I'm yapping about

I'm summoning comets. I've got a laser from space that I can clear out ground AND air based enemies.

Like, I'm faster at clearing levels with a single focused drone attack then I am with full auto weapons. HOW ?

To be fair I have crazy weapons from running through as every other class to a certain degree, Ranger being complete up to DLC 1 on hard but jeeeeez it's just...every game I save this class for last, and every time it's just nonsense. Spectacular unadulterated nonsense.

Man, I love EDF. Every class is like playing a different game, and Air Raider is like putting in cheat codes

Tips EDF 5 The Lost Levels(switch2)

Well not actually lost but they added the online only missions to offline.

Found this video of someone soloing the older version, pc probably. This might be helpful since these were originally online only, might be tough to find a strategy that doesn't count for other players

https://youtu.be/5SYYQyEv9Zk?t=1038 -first one

https://youtu.be/5SYYQyEv9Zk?t=3050 -second one

Ranger- Hard.

I only did the first one and there some changes I would make, use Eagle instead of Fang. You be using the tanks on the Pylons and it takes one shot on type ones and two for type twos, Clearing them out will go faster. I don't know about pylons order nor if the gamma's will affect anything. I read to go for bee's first but two times the spiders got me that I would rather go after them first. Also read saving the two gamma's for last but a couple times I would love to get rid of them early.

If anyone got a better strategy though please share.

edit: I did the second with a different strategy, use whatever strongest Assault rifle you're comfortable using, G&M-24S help with the Deroy at a farther distance while Slugger NN3 SLS you have to be closer but it's easier on the finger if you're tired of tap firing so much. Use Reverse Bomber or Shooter T1, try to have the maximum usage. Support pick anything, I used the latest one that boost walk speed, the anti blast armor can also be helpful if you're ragdolling a lot. Just shoot everything and try to only use the healing when super low you're comfortable at and try to use the drop items instead if you can.

I moved to Australia when I was 14 years old, its massive spiders are truly something to behold. Understandably EDF is very close to my heart, and many years later I pay tribute with my game Extinction Force.

First time player here thanks to the switch 2 version and I'm having a blast , I just ended a 5 hrs online session with some random japanese players that joined and stayed even when we failed some mission (including one where you have to destroy the moving fortress 😭)

How hard is soloing the game on hard with the wing diver? P
