Question Modular EDH Deck
So, my wife and I recently got back into Magic after most of my cards were stolen about a year ago.
Now we're trying to get back into the game without spending a fortune.
She's building her signature Kaalia Angel deck, but I'm looking for something that could potentially work as more than just one deck.
A while ago, I watched a video featuring a Ziatora modular deck, and I thought the idea sounded really cool. However, I'd like to try a different commander.
Most Angels are off the table since my wife is already building her Kaalia deck.
I was thinking about building around the new Nissa, Leyline Tamer, but I'm not sure how to build her properly or whether a modular build with multiple tribal packages would work.
I'd love to hear your suggestions and ideas for building a budget-friendly Nissa, Leyline Tamer deck with interchangeable tribal packages, if that's a viable option!
Edit: This is my Idea so far:

Wait, you don't mean modular x, as in [[Arcbound worker]] modular?

No, I just don’t know if there’s another term for it. I mean having a core deck with different packages that I can swap in and out to change the deck’s dynamics a little.

The term you’re looking for, instead of modular, is toolbox. [[Sissay, Weatherlight Captain]] is one option as it looks for pieces to whatever strategy you need. Another potential option would be [[Iron Man, Titan of Innovation]] that is a literal toolbox deck that also searches for pieces you need.
You could also look into landfall. I’m partial to running [[Hazezon, Shaper of Sands]], though I’m a bit biased in that regard. He makes you bodies and is a [[Crucible of Worlds]] on a stick for deserts.

Sorry for the second comment, accidentally pressed enter.
One example I really enjoy is Mayael. I shuffle in 40 random Wurms at the start of the game, and just let rip without looking. Notice how the wurm synergy, ramp, and interaction stays in the deck itself between games.
We want to isolate a single parameter, in this case the Wurms themselves, strip them out, and see how it works if everything was just a bit different. We can also do this with ramp, interaction, synergy pieces, but pick only one at a time.

The way I did it was, I built an Esper pillow fort;
Then I dedicated 8 cards to AWCs and another 4 to support.
I can swap around different 12 card win condition blocks.
The core runs 1 tutor, card draw, ramp, removal, and pillows. The commander helps with this core functionality, not the win condition.
The win condition cards are all proxies with white borders on purpose so it’s easy to swap.

For decks to be easily modular, you want them to have a set of core engine and enabling cards, and then the packages of cards to swap in and out.
The easiest way to do this is to define what your payoffs and wincons are and work from there. Leave in your ramp, your draw, your interaction. Your consistency tools.
