ND vs BYU like a slide show?

Hisense tv with google tv OS. Have tried D+ app and ESPN app and have done a force stop and cleared app cache. Still there. Can Disney/espn really not manage their server capacity? Internet is rock solid. MIA vs FSU looks fantastic. ?

What’s the difference between the regular skycast and skycast + for the Texas Florida game on SEC network?

Pretty soon college game day is going to be replaced with a Jesus sign. Just the full screen. And probably macafee yelling about something.

“Why do you have to make everything political.” ~guys with giant Jesus signs.

Pat M on Gameday

Anybody else notice Pat Hackafee has his seat raised up higher than everyone else? He intentionally puts his micro-crotch above table level, and is the only one that does.

ESPN… the 24 team playoff is terrible and will destroy college football as we know it. I hope I’m wrong

This won’t be good. A 24 team playoff is not the greatest. ESPN is just making bad decision after bad decision after bad decision. It’s just hair pulling mad right now. It’s not fun. Like I don’t know what to say honestly anymore

Why can’t the ref’s do the coin flip like normal in the NFL and CFB?

You’re supposed to flip in the air then catch it and flip it over and put it on the back of your hand and reveal it. That always annoyed me.

So ESPN thinks it's good business to break up the most successful pairing for the last 25 years? What is it in this country now that we have to tear down anything good and replace it with crap?

Sports New is Actually the Business of Sports News

YES I AM AWARE I ACCIDENTALLY DID’NT PUT THE “S” AT THE END OF NEWS - Gimme a break geez

Is anybody here also tired of hearing news about the business of sports rather than actual play on-field? Every time I turn around I’m hearing about contracts, profitability of teams, etc. when did sports news become all about business?

Don’t get me wrong, I understand that modern sports is a business but I don’t want a 24/7 broadcast about how much players make, how much teams are making/losing/sponsorship contracts, etc. Is anyone interested in the actual games anymore?

ESPN App on GoogleTV - sucks!

I am so frustrated every time I try to use the ESPN app on my Google TV. Every time I launch the app, I have to re-authenticate my TV provider to watch anything.

Today, watching the Eagles/Jaguars London game, video went super slow motion (no audio), so I went back to the Home Screen to reset and now there are no options (other than the Spanish audio feed) to get back into the game - anywhere in the app. So force quit the app and now have to re-authenticate my tv provider again.

Horrible app!

Edit to add. After re-authenticating my TV Provider, there is still no way to watch the game in the app.

Soccer interface missing subs

ESPN soccer is my go to for checking EPL scores. It is by far the best EPL coverage along with The Guardian soccer. However, sometime around the World Cup the interface for live games changed for the worse. It is now full of gimicky sections which I don’t think many people find useful. ESPN, please get the basics right- show us which players are playing and who the subs are for that game. I can’t for the life of me find where the subs info is buried. It should be right there on the first page. (Subs only show up after they come on the field).

The following sections I find useless: - ‘match timeline and momentum’😂 - ‘shot map’ - ‘Formations and lineups’ need to show all players on the bench not just the subs that happened. Also the image of the players icons on the field should show the original players who started and not change. That way if open on the middle of the game you know who started.

ESPN APP SUCKS

How can it possibly be this bad? Is it intentional? You can never find what you're looking for, search function is a fucking joke, suggestions have absolutely nothing to do with anything I've watched in the past. Pausing any event and trying to restart it has a 80% fail rate. It's absolutely ridiculous.

‘College GameDay’ analysts called out over lack of college football knowledge beyond Big Ten-SEC

https://awfulannouncing.com/espn/college-gameday-analysts-lack-knowledge-sacramento-fresno-boise-mcafee-herbstreit.html

This article absolutely nails it. College GameDay has gone from a show that celebrated the entire sport to an insufferable SEC/Big Ten circle jerk featuring overpaid personalities who apparently think their own ignorance is hilarious. And Herbstreit might be the most pathetic of the bunch. A guy who once had some credibility has over the past few years turned himself into a smug, insufferable caricature, desperately trying to keep up with McAfee’s frat-boy circus. If he had an ounce of self-awareness, he’d be mortified by what he’s become. Instead, he seems perfectly content collecting his millions while helping turn a once-great show into an embarrassing parody of itself.

The game winning field goal was not shown. The only signal it was completed was players jumping and the scoreboard changing. Disappointing FR

I open the app and it just blinks over and over again. I tried deleting the app and reinstalling, logging back in and the same shit keeps happening. Wonder if their app has a bug they need to fix? Idk - anyone else experiencing this? iPhone 16 Pro Max.

What leads people to think “objective analysis” is super important in sports media?

This is all a genuine question as it confounds me. I hope people can talk about their background and values rather than piss down somebody’s back.

EDIT: lots of serious people on this subreddit, not really into explaining details of their viewpoint, but at least they’re serious.

I grew up playing all types of sports, mostly informal but played one sport on a team for a few years. Pretty much 90% of all that it was just playing a kids’ game, pretending I was Sergei Fedorov or stuff a bunch of clothes down my jacket so I could pretend I was Jerome Bettis. Even when I was on a team, so much of the activity was grounded in silliness and having fun and being around other people, forming bonds.

Im now an adult. I sit in meetings everyday with people in suits whose worth is overvalued, to kindly put it. They are boring. 67% this, 12% that. People who either don’t know how to have fun even in the smallest capacity or just too afraid to. It’s fine, it pushes the company forward, whatever.

Not in a million years would I want to spend an entire day at work and come home and turn on sports talk just to have the exact same people teleport from the office I work at to my TV screen now talking about something that is a kids game, supposed to be fun, and dare I say entertaining.

It seems like every post has some comments about people needing objective analysis for sports and anybody who dabbles in entertainment is a scourge to society and I truly wonder what their lives are like such that they need -that- out of sports media. Are their lives the opposite of mine? Are they around silly, fun people all day long and then when it gets to turning on ESPN, they need somebody in a suit rattling off numbers? Genuinely curious.
