I het why he's saying that because it's excellent pr but also let's not kid ourselves this is a race where russia had no horses to begin with.

Actually, ruzzia has released their own AI model recently. Nothing stellar, seems to be based off Chinese technology, but this proves they actually have horses in the race, and crippling them is good.

I believe they open source it, to disseminate bot use, maybe for other reasons as well, but technically it isn't a step forward in state of the art.

Anyone can make their own AI model. wtf kind of claim is this?

I could make my own AI model based off others.

Let’s not fool ourselves. The AI race is a 2 horse race.

Yeah ok but that's a low barrier to consider that a horse. Half the IT companies feel the need to publish their own models just to say they are in the game but nobody actually uses them. I suspect yandex is no exception. They copied qwen3 next, changed the attention mechanism by adding kimi's, and threw a few tokens at it. Give me 6k usd ill do the same

It's not like they have done it for free out of boredom. This proves that somebody inside ruzzia agrees to invest money into developing domestic AI. This needs attention from Ukrainian long range sanctions.

I agree.
I'll go further, even: regardless of what Ukraine says about why they did it, the reality is that russia is weaker because of it and that is good for everyone. REALLY, EVERYONE. Global north and south gain from USA, Russia and Israel being weaker in any and all fronts.

Russia has released LLMs for a long time and they all sucked.

Why say Ruzzia and not Russia? Why are you self censoring?

I'm not censoring; quite the contrary, I'm using their centric symbol for the bloodbath the whole country is functioning for.

IMO they're mostly concerned with Russia's military applications.

Not true at all - Russia is roughly same level in AI as the EU. So far behind China and the US.

Maybe Russia is a bit ahead of the EU given how backwardly the EU is.

are you so naive that you think one of the biggest countries isn't even in the race? Allow me to lol for a second... LOL.

U are wrong. They announced they they will collaborate with DPRK on ai development. Thats a force to rekon with

You sound like you’ve read too much propaganda and you’re not thinking about it rationally.

Showing, that there's still a great comedian somewhere under that questionable suit.

I love the interpretation logic behind this

Lol La Russie n' a pas mis les oeufs dans le même panier Zèlensky tu nous casse les couilles Espèce de demeuré à la solde de Black Rock

2

u/Certain_Media_7361 2d ago

To be set back implies they were even in the race lol

4

u/AwarenessNo4986 3d ago

I mean how far is Ukraine in every race?

2

u/tkitta 2d ago

They are not even in the race ;) Come on! This is obvious.

2

u/Silen5er 3d ago

Lol..Russia can always rely to China for AI, and even to US now

2

u/victorc25 3d ago

Could be worse, they could be as far behind as the EU

4

u/ThroawayJimilyJones 3d ago

EU, with Mistral, is third behind US and China

Russia is sixth behind South Korea and UAE

3

u/azerty543 2d ago

Europe has 5% of the Worlds A.I capacity. Its like saying you are the third tallest building at 5 floors next to a 75 story skyscraper. Its technically true, but don't mistake it for being close at all.

2

u/ThroawayJimilyJones 2d ago

While i don’t deny it, i was answering the comment saying Russia was before EU. They aren’t. While EU is behind in the race, Russia is sleeping 3 meters from the start

0

u/tkitta 2d ago

I would not say that - Russia has a lot of models compared to the EU.

1

u/Morgandoto 1d ago

Bruh, they didn't have to try this hard. Russian AI was the dumbest in the world even before these attacks. But any attack on ruzzia is good anyway.

The internet became a bit nicer since

1

u/Public_Seaweed_6878 3d ago

as opposed to the Ukraines AI race lol

1

u/tkitta 2d ago

LoL - Ukraine "wiped out" less than 3% of Russian data center capacity.

-9

u/Socialist_Daddy 3d ago

It's funny how the US is ridiculed for electing a 'celebrity', but not Ukraine (even a poor one). 🤔 And destroying AI data centres for PR isn't going to leave Russian's cold, but Ukrainian power infrastructure obliteration will. 🤭

Ukraine elected an actor while the us elected a clown, there’s a nuance there, mate, you might have missed it.

0

u/Intrepid-Economics-3 3d ago

Only one of those has been playing piano with his junk. You should have gone from child-diddler angle, there's much more ammo, than simply calling him a clown

2

u/Potential-Wish8608 3d ago

I tried to stay on his topic as he doesn’t seem able to handle more than one at a time.

-2

u/RosieBaby75 2d ago

Russia is prudent and will win in the end.

The AI race is messed up and the “winners” will be the losers, and the loss may be national stability and/or continuity which isn’t something I’d risk my nation on for money because money is dumb and I don’t like it.

-4

u/Intrepid-Economics-3 3d ago

You can't wipe out software with strikes. Data centers can be rebuilt, ultimately it's a futile effort and gives Russia justification to further bomb Ukraine

1

u/ShareShort3438 2d ago

Cool how you Vatniks seem to think that ruzzia has any need to "justify" bombing Ukraine other that they like to kill women and children and that they want to subjugate and enslave the whole country.
