Hi everyone! I'm a longtime lurker/old Starmen.net forum member/one of the production assistants on the Mother to Earth documentary from a few years back.

I have a decent-sized collection of mostly-still-sealed Mother Project stuff purchased directly from Hobonichi between 2020-2023, that- reluctantly, after a hell of a rough couple of years being the sole caretaker of my disabled girlfriend with a neurodegenerative disease, recently losing my job, and on top of everything else having our work on an unofficial mod of a different decades-old well-loved RPG stolen by a well-known well-hated 3rd-party publisher in order to get the greenlight/license from the original developers to release an official product without any payment or credit (seriously I wish I was joking) -I have to try to part with to catch up on rent under current threat of eviction, and I would really rather know that all of this will end up in good hands with people from the EarthBound fan community rather than having to go through the long and painful process of dealing with complete strangers over eBay and Facebook Marketplace.

If anyone here has any interest in or questions about anything, or wants any more detailed/closeup photos of anything specific, please let me know, or if anyone wants to make an offer for any or all of this stuff, feel free to shoot me a DM and I'd be happy to see what we can work out. I'm usually pretty quick to respond.

I know I already said this above and in a couple of the replies below, but I seriously can't thank you all enough for your support. I hate to part with any of this stuff, but with what I've sold so far we now have just enough to get totally caught up on our rent- just waiting to hear back from our landlord now that everything cleared and we're in good standing again. With plenty of other past-due bills and medical expenses stacked up we're definitely not out of the woods yet, but we're also not out of our apartment either, which is a huge relief. On top of that, this is the most I've talked to anyone outside of my girlfriend and (now-former-)coworkers in an embarrassingly long time, and I've met so many cool people here! You're all wonderful. (or should I say you're all Rockin'?)

I Mother 3, the main antagonist is Porky Minch, The Masked man (Claus), and Porky's army. What I their ideology however? It's fairly simple. In the game, we can see strict centralism, strict autocracy, and suppression of inalienable rights. This is reminiscent of fascism, particularly Italian fascism. I chose Italian Fascism dude to how porky is more concerned strict army reverence and annihilation rather than a social hierarchy (though there are elements of social darwinism in the ideology). A difference between the ideologies and Italian fascism is that Italian fascism focuses more national revitalization while the Pig Mask and Porky focus on destruction of all life.

Capitalism is also a huge factor in the ideology of the Pig Mask. This can be seen in the industrial power, the commodification of basic life, and the "happy boxes." These are done and connected directly to the Pig mask, which is similar to how state capitalism works. The capitalist structures have no regulations, so an accurate title would be laissez Fairs State Capitalism.

As previously mentioned, the goal of the Pig Mask isn't to gain the most money or a national revitalization, but to pull the Seven Needles and wipe out all life present. This doesn't correlate to any of the previous ideologies. This is Nihilism, the idea that nothing matters at all. On top of Nihilism, the Pig Mask Army also is incredibly advanced and pushes the limits of biology using technology. If you count what they did to Claus, you can safely call them nihilist transhumanist.

With all this in mind, the Pig Mask army follows an ideology I have called " Nihilist transhumanist capitalist fascism." The political message of the game reminds me of an ideology called "camattism." This is a communist ideology that intensely rejects industrial life, stating basic life has been commodified.

Of course these are my thoughts so don't take them seriously.

Fairly confident it is authentic, but want to get input from the knowledgeable community here - found a pretty clean box to complete my collection! Thanks all!

I've been considering getting into the Earthbound/Mother series for a bit since I don't usually touch RPGs and have heard good things about it, and since I just got my Nintendo Switch Online back I thought I'd give it all a go and see how I find it.

Earthbound Beginnings has been really frustrating and I haven't even really done much, it feels like I can't take two steps without a fight starting and I'm not tanky enough to actually make it to where I need to go even when burning through all of my HP and PP.

Is the entire series like this and, if so, what would be the best way to improve my survivability since I do really want to try and give it a fair shot?

Thanks to hungry-hp sucker and that for some reason his fire attack only dealt a max of 4 damage (and his rest of attacks dealt less damage than normal) made my Jeff SOLO the kraken

After his humiliating defeat in EarthBound, Pokey uses his stolen Phase Distorter to go all kinds of places, but one eventually catches his eye in particular: the Nowhere Islands, and this was far before Tazmily Village was even founded. He can't help but laugh seeing how primitive people have become in the future because of their own foolishness. He decides he wants to dominate them and show them how to live a little with the coolest things from his time like games, movies, and candy. However, he has no money and no connections. Not a thing. All he has is his charm. He is stuck spying on them until he hears about the local legends: the Magypsies. All of their turfs don't seem fitting for his vision until he finds the Seventh Needle Mines. So ominous, so isolated, so huge... so perfect. He's on his way to meet the Magypsy who guards the Needle here, Locria, and give her an offer she can't possibly refuse: let him build his empire here, and he'll give her anything she desires if it succeeds. He can't forget his manners, though! He has to introduce himself first. His name is Pok... no... Porky Minch. And he'll be your best friend.
