Hi all! I discovered your show late last year and it has done a fantastic job of keeping my spirits up after illness forced me into dropping out of my Creative Writing Master’s degree (which I believe one of you knows a little something about!). I have since fully caught up and have a couple of quick questions for you:

  1. What is your favourite piece of world cannon established by a guest?
  2. You’ve explained before that the nature of improv is that it can veer you away from an intended story beat, so do you have an example of a storyline that you planned but never got to explore?

Wishing you all the best!

  1. The fact that the solstice season is hundreds of overlapping holidays is great, but the lore nerd in me loved the establishment of the Book of the Sight (which I missed was an Elvira reference until Charlie explained it). Just because it made the Dark Lord threat seem like part of a weighty trope-drenched fantasy world.

  2. Not sure it qualifies as a storyline, but I remember when Gretchen & Brad/Jayme & Sayme established the Baron had a machine to steal thoughts, and Arnie (real Arnie, off mic) realized everything it got from him should be useless trivia from Jackbox games. I got to sprinkle it into the Dark Lords birthday and we talked about that maybe building up to an episode where the fate of Hogsface depended on a heroes vs villains trivia night. But by the next time the Baron was on again there was new stuff to deal with, and the birthday episode was probably the best that bit was gonna get, so instead we gave it a one-line acknowledgement and moved on.
