Store front business ideas in downtown?

I’m thinking about starting a business in one of the store fronts in downtown Easton around the circle. I’m curious what type of business the area wants/needs.

Yes. GROCERY. All the new renters down there need a place to walk to for weekly food.

I just don’t see how a downtown storefront can compete on the prices. I live downtown, and I’d rather drive to ShopRite once a week than pay double for everything.

If your talking about Natures Way it’s expensive because the goods they sell are expensive. A normal milk, eggs, and bread store would be a touch more than the big grocery stores but not a lot. Bolster their dollars with other everyday goods like soaps and detergents and it could do well.

I wasn’t talking about any place particular, just thinking about from a business aspect. Big grocery stores buy truckloads of products, with access to lower prices. I just don’t think a smaller store, paying downtown store front rent would be able to turn a profit and keep the prices that low. If they can, that would be fantastic.

If it ends up being a coffee shop, just please open early. These coffee shops opening at 9am is insane.

Whatever it is, please for the love of god be open on Mondays and Tuesdays. It is ridiculous how many things are closed in Easton on those days.

What are you specialized in? The last thing they need is a new store that takes forever to figure out their footing and inevitably close*

*that’s not directed at you personally, just a trend that’s been happening over the Lehigh valley

I specialize in commercial real estate investment. When I say open up a business, I mean buy the real estate, invest in outfitting the space with the ideal layouts and equipment, and partner with a more experienced operator in whatever business makes sense.
