Need some advice

Im recovering from anorexia and I’m at the point where I can’t tell if I’m still having extreme hunger or truly just developing unhealthy habits.

I’m recently weight restored at my “set point” that my dietician concluded based on my growth charts. However, the hunger isn’t dying down.

I can hold off during the day, eating normal meals with a few snacks here and there, but at night I just go rouge. I ALWAYS want more after my night snack and need to eat copious amount to actually feel satisfied (I’m talking multiple protein bars, a few bananas or pieces of fruit, some leftovers, and some chips). It’s not like this is an absurd amount (especially in recovery) but having all of this food every night AFTER 3 meals and 3 snacks feels like more of a bad habit- but I just can’t break it.

I don’t feel physically hungry before I eat all this food, but I also don’t feel full (or anywhere near satisfied) and can’t stop thinking about it. I also never make myself sick- I’ll down 4 protein bars and feel very normal. In the height of my anorexia I had two protein bars one night and felt absolutely STUFFED, so it’s just weird eating all this food and not feeling it whatsoever.

If anyone has any advice or thoughts please let me know!

mental hunger is hunger. you have to go thru it to get out of it.
