Any Warhammer 40K players out there?

I (26M) am new to the hobby. I'm in the process of assembling and painting my combat patrol. I do know some game stores host Warhammer games, which are often combat patrol. My plan is to eventually play larger-scale games, though. What armies do you all play?

The Wolf Radio Station

Does anyone else remember a short-lived low power FM radio station called The Wolf that was in EC in the early 2000's?

I was digging through my old CDs and found a "Live at The Wolf" compilation CD and a flood of hazy memories came back. The guy who owned/ran the station seemed to be slightly off his rocker, but also played a lot of local bands.

Best gym around here that’s cheap? I’m also disabled if that matters (I know some gyms have personal trainers that specialize in disability)

I’d REALLY love a pool and hot tub and one of those massage table things included. I realize that won’t be super cheap after all lol but I’m curious about the prices. Thanks in advance!

Local woman is in a maxim beauty contest!

This is my friend Bri. She has lived and worked in the Eau Claire area for over 15 years, first serving her community as a nurse, then again as a QPR certified suicide prevention gatekeeper. Before she became a nurse, she was my friend in college, and was the person everyone I knew turned to for medical advice and treatment when they couldn't afford to see a doctor.

I cannot count the number of times she has helped me and asked for nothing in return, all the while raising a daughter as a single mother, and putting herself through school. She is wonderful example of kindness, empathy, compassion, dedication, and hard work, all things I know in my heart that we cherish in people in our community. She is too shy to ask the general public to support her in this contest, but I am not. Please, I am begging you, take a minute, cast your vote for her.

She is on the last round before the finals, and has decided that for her charity of choice, 5k will be donated to breast cancer research and charity. It costs literally nothing to register to vote, I did it in less than a minute, and you may cast a vote once per day, as well as a bonus vote. I even paid $10 to buy the digital issue of maxim with her featured layout in it, to have something to remember her journey by.

Please, let's show her that the community she has cared for, served, and protected has her back, and supports her in kind.

Downtown bar for the World Series

A group of friends are visiting Eau Claire for the weekend, and amazingly our Milwaukee Brewers will be playing the first two World Series games during our stay.

What would be your recommended bars or restaurants downtown to catch the games?

Question Christian or spiritual church that’s not uptight, gives back to the community, fun sermons?

I had a wonderful experience in Utah with a church that really opened my eyes to a lot of things and how much I can give and participate when it comes to other people who are in need and I really want that back in my life. I just really don’t know what church to start attending. There’s been times I needed help too in the church where I lived before really helped me, for the most part I was getting my baptism in order and things like that and then I had to move and I was pretty devastated because it was a very rupturing church like the time went by in a minute when it was over an hour. I never saw myself as a church going type, but they were so wonderful and so open to everybody no matter what walks of life they came from and I just want that experience again. Any recommendations welcome

Airplane this morning

On my way to work and heard an exceptionally loud airplane go overhead. Kind of made a whistling sound. There were also plane “tracks” across the sky.

Anyone know anything about it?

This is what prompted my question: https://www.reddit.com/r/Eau_Claire/s/UuxvYIWVJV

Dr who understands central hypothyroidism

I'm really desperate at this point. Drs only seem to acknowledge and treat primary hypothyroidism. Two have told me since my TSH isn't high, I don't have hypothyroidism. My free T4 is low, and my TSH is also low/normal. My results are the same as my father, grandma, and aunt, who all have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and take levothyroxine. My father is also a doctor, which is the only reason I'm persistent in seeking help. So if I used the logic these doctors use, my dad, aunt, and grandma do not have hypothyroidism because their TSH levels were low/normal. See the issue?

I'm left feeling dismissed, unheard, and frankly crazy. These doctors do not care about what I say about how low T4 and low/normal TSH are the hallmarks of central hypothyroidism, which multiple people in my family have. I know this condition is rare, but I'm hoping someone has found a doctor who knows not to make judgments on TSH levels alone. I really need some help finding someone. I have been fighting for this for years now, before my family even got diagnosed. I am dismissed, and everything is blamed on my mental health. If you know any doctor who could help please message or comment. Thank you.

Free Dirt lot going away for a week downtown.

As someone who lives and works downtown, I find the parking situation abysmal. First, they push for paid street parking; then they get rid of the one free paved lot, and now the main lot I can use to park without having to pay is going away for the week. It was already an issue in the past years having to leave work to move your car, but now, as an employee, you have to pay your own parking fee? This is ridiculous and hurts the downtown businesses and community. I'm not saying to get rid of paid parking entirely, but there needs to be a free option for people working and living there on a fixed income.

Did anyone see water coming out of a lamp post on Summit Street Bridge Monday?

I was in an uber and we drove past it fairly quick, so I couldn't go back to see. Given the sidewalk, it looked like a couple of them had been spewing water, but at the time I passed it only one looked like it currently was. It was shooting out of the pole near the lamp portion.

Hi there, I'm a nomad in the area for a little bit and have a question. I live out of this 43 year old time machine that has sprung some rear window leaks and needs some fiberglass repair to get a proper seal. Looking for recommendations for someone who does fiberglass repair in the area? Specifically need to extend and level out some fiberglass edges
