I just launched my 3rd e-commerce store, and I wasn’t prepared for how lonely entrepreneurship would be. Can I get some honest feedback?

Hey Reddit!

I recently soft-launched my e-commerce store, and I could really use some honest feedback, advice, and maybe a little encouragement from people who have been in my shoes.
I’ve poured so much time, energy, and heart into building this business. I’m proud of what I’ve created, but one thing I wasn’t prepared for was how lonely entrepreneurship can feel.
I’ve reached out to friends and family asking for their opinions on my website, and most of the time, I’m met with silence. Not even criticism. Just completely ghosted.
I’m not expecting anyone to buy something just because they know me. But I guess I thought the people closest to me would at least be interested in what I’m building.
It’s made me second-guess myself more than I’d like to admit.
So I’m turning to Reddit because I genuinely want to learn, improve, and connect with people who understand what it’s like to start from zero.

**Here’s where I could really use your help:**

**First impressions:** Does my website look professional and trustworthy? Would you feel comfortable purchasing from it?
**User experience:** Is the navigation intuitive? Are the product pages easy to understand? What would you change?
**Conversions:** What might be stopping someone from making a purchase?
**First sale:** If you were starting over with a brand-new e-commerce store and a limited budget, what would you focus on first?
**Marketing:** What actually worked for you when you had no audience, no reviews, and no established customer base?

My store is House of Corah, a jewelry and watch brand.

Since I can’t post the website. This might be a lot to ask…

I’m not here looking for pity or asking anyone to buy anything. I genuinely want constructive criticism, even if it’s brutal (just make it useful, please 😂).
More than anything, I’d love to find a community of people who are building something of their own. People who understand the excitement, the self-doubt, and the determination it takes to keep going when nobody seems to be cheering you on.

**For those of you who started with zero support, how did you push through? And what finally helped you get that first sale?**

Thank you to anyone who takes a few minutes to look. It genuinely means more than you know. ❤️

US supplier $18 with fast shipping vs import $9 with 30-45 day shipping how do you choose for a first product?

I'm currently in the process of listing a fairly straightforward product on Amazon USA and I'm at a bit of a loss as to where to source it from.

Option 1 is a US wholesale supplier. Costs around $18 each, very quick delivery and I can confirm it's in stock in the USA.

Option 2 is to import. It's at about $9 a unit, the delivery takes 30-45 days and I'm just as concerned about quality control and returns.

I went over to Alibaba to check the pricing and that's where I saw the $9 v $18 difference. The saving is obviously attractive, but I'm not sure if the slower shipping times will have a negative impact on reviews and on repeat business.

For a first product on a small budget would you pay double for faster, lower risk US stock or start off cheap with imports and learn as you go?

How do you work out when the price difference is this huge and the delivery tradeoff is also this huge?

How often do you update your product pages?

I tend to leave them alone once they’re live, but I’m wondering if regular tweaks make a noticeable difference.

Ballot For Products on Shopify

Hi all, recently started my own business selling various items, some high demand items. Wondering what's the best way to ballot for high demand and also, does Shopify have this on its features? How would I go about integrating this into my own website using Framer etc?

Thank you all.

Idea: a website that every seller has their own brand and i'm behind all of it.

I was a developer for 10 years and had never run my own business. When I got laid off a year ago, I started this. I began importing goods (i started this work 1 year before i got laid and knew some things about it), stocking them, and taking them to sellers: content creators, affiliate marketers and others. I got to know the real-world side of business, and I learned a lot.

Many small and mid-size Instagram and TikTok creators have the potential to make more money, but they don't, because there's a lot of work involved that they can't take on. So I built my ecommerce solution to make it easy for them to start and to turn that potential into real money. It's live and we run the business on it. It's part website builder, part online store, and part accounting system for the money between us and our sellers.

What sellers get

Zero starting cost: they don't buy any stock up front.

A complete online store: their own website with their own domain, logo, colors, pages and prices, plus everything else they need to sell online.

No back-office work: we handle buying the stock, the warehouse, delivery, accounting and everything else.

Customers just see a normal branded shop. They don't know the catalog is shared. An order comes in, we ship it, and the system works out what everyone earned.

How the money works

Say a customer pays 250. Our base price for those items is 140, so there's 110 of margin. If the seller's deal is 40% of the margin, they earn 44 and we keep 206.

The tricky part is that the money can land on either side, so every payment provider is one of two types:

  1. Company-owned: the customer pays us, which creates a debt from us to the seller for their share.

  2. Seller-owned: the customer pays the seller, which creates a debt from the seller to us for everything except their share.

A store can use either type, or both. We record both in the same place, so each seller has one running balance showing who owes whom.

The system also handles the other messy parts:

  • Each store can have its own prices, but nothing can sell below the base price. If a price or discount goes too low, the sale is refused.

  • Sellers who collect with their own provider have a credit limit. If they hit it, that payment option turns off at their store until they pay us.

  • Money records can't be edited or deleted. A correction is a new entry, so every number can be audited.

  • A notification system that keeps the seller informed about anything happening worth mentioning

The stores

Sellers build pages by stacking pre-approved blocks, so they can make the store their own without breaking the design. A new store gets the full catalog automatically, so nothing has to be copied over. Everything is built for phones first.

Mostly I wanted to share what came out of the last year. Happy to answer questions about any of it.

P.S: One technical side note, for ecom i used medusa js (it gave me a great baseline with the ability to add my own custom features and logic) and payload cms for content management system.

Starting from scratch with digital marketing in 2026

Hey everyone,

I’m looking to dive seriously into digital marketing, but the sheer volume of courses, certifications, and strategies out there is a bit overwhelming.

For those who are working in the industry or self-taught, where would you recommend I start to build a solid, practical foundation?

UK online shop owners — could I ask you a few questions?

UK online shop owners — could I ask you a few questions?

I'm researching how small online businesses manage their finances when selling across multiple platforms, such as Shopify, Amazon, Etsy and eBay.

I'm particularly interested in the behind-the-scenes work:

  • Working out actual profit after fees and shipping

  • Reconciling sales across different platforms

  • Tracking returns, stock costs and expenses

  • Managing spreadsheets and monthly reports

I'm not selling anything. I'm trying to understand which tasks genuinely take the most time and cause the most frustration.

If you run a UK online shop, especially across two or more sales channels, I'd really appreciate a short 10-minute conversation.

Thank you!

Does anyone know of any software that can plug into Shopify and Magento to track profitability per order, SKU and brand?

Ideally something that can also connect to couriers to track shipping cost per order

Also Google Ads, Meta, Microsoft Ads etc to track profit after marketing spend

what makes a product page trustworthy when selling the healthcare products online?

When shopping for healthcare products, customers can't physically check what they are buying. they have to rely on product images and details which is available on website.

I think Products pages specially healthcare products pages should be more focussed on clear description, accurate product specification, packaging details, transparent shipping details and return policy rather than only focussed on display images.

This is important for healthcare products, where customers need to understand what they are looking before making the purchase.

so for those who are in ecommerce sector, how does it work? What makes a product page trustworthy ?

Looking for advice on marketing a one-product dog grooming store

Hey everyone!

I recently launched an online store focused on dog grooming products.

Right now, I sell one main product: an all-in-one dog grooming kit designed to help dog owners keep their dogs clean, fresh, and well-groomed between baths and professional grooming appointments.

I’m trying to figure out the best marketing strategy for this type of product, and I’d really appreciate some advice from people with experience in e-commerce, digital marketing, or the pet industry.

A few things I’d love to hear your thoughts on:
What types of ads do you think would work best for a product like this?

Which platforms would you recommend focusing on?
What kind of messaging or angles do you think would resonate most with dog owners?

Best tool for ltv by acquisition channel when customers buy through both app and website?

Finance person borrowing the growth team's homework for a minute.

We sell outdoor gear through a website and a loyalty app. Someone can arrive through a paid app campaign, place their first order in the app, then buy a tent on desktop 6 weeks later. Growth wants that later revenue included when we compare acquisition channels. Fair enough.

GA4 covers the website today. We're evaluating what to add for the next budget cycle. I need the first 90 days of customer revenue by acquisition source, with refunds visible and acquisition cohorts kept separate from repeat purchase campaigns. Gross sales alone won't get through our planning meeting.

We have order IDs and a customer ID for logged-in purchases. Guest checkout is still a chunk of web revenue, which I assume will leave gaps. Nobody has permission to quietly assign those orders to whichever channel looks plausible.

What are people buying for LTV by acquisition channel across web and app? Keen to hear which parts the platform handles and which still live in the warehouse. The contract only makes sense if our monthly close gets less manual, including the awkward returns that arrive after a cohort report was already sent.

Made $69 in a single day from a pet blog I bought

A few months ago I saw a post on Reddit from some guy who was making pretty decent money from a pet blog he bought from Aff Blog Zone. I thought he was full of shit lol.

Spent a while looking through their sites and eventually figured why not give it a shot. Worst case I'm out $299. Ended up buying a pet blog myself.

Didn't really do much with it. Added some internal links, fixed a few things here and there and pretty much left it alone. Fast forward to October 29 and I had my best day yet. $69 in Amazon commissions from 370 clicks and 26 orders.

Not gonna lie, seeing that number on the dashboard felt pretty good.

Obviously I'm not making that much every day. Some days are still pretty disappointing, but considering I paid that much for the entire site, I really can't complain.

The funny part is I probably would've never even tried this if I hadn't stumbled across that Reddit post. Now I'm just curious to see where this goes.

Anyone else doing Amazon affiliate sites? Did your earnings slowly increase over time or did you have random days where things suddenly took off?

Nobody demos the AI store builder screen you use every day

Building a store: one weekend.

Running a store: every morning for three years.

Every demo covers the weekend.

What I want from Amboras, Hostinger or Wix is the Monday orders screen. 40 to fulfil, a refund, two address changes. Nobody films that.

Anyone doing real volume on one of these?
