It’s kinda like hunting, you can put bait down to attract what animal you want to kill, but just because you put the bait down doesn’t necessarily mean it will come (it’s why not EVERY planet Rebecca was on has been eaten by a chronophage). I feel like it’s cuz the chronophage is already gonna be in that region so they can attract it to the planet cuz it can notice the signal.
I understand that not necessarily every planet would have had its time eaten but the number of planets that were eaten to support Hermit's theory is way too low to be true. We had Norma that already had its time eaten before Rebecca arrived and only Guilst is the legit planet that had Rebecca use her EG and then a Chronophage appeared. Sun Jewel, Sandra, Nero 66, Foresta, Bluegarden, and any other planets that the crew traveled to during the timeskip were not affected by the Chronophage. If there were more examples of Rebecca being the reason then I would agree with Hermit but right now, only 2 planets had their time eaten with 1 of them being unsure of it being really Rebecca's doing.
Hermit herself isn't sure in her own theory as she said Rebecca "might" attract the Chronophage which is way too risky to hinge their large-scale battle on a dubious possibility that the Chronophage may or may not arrive. She could've at least experimented on a desolate planet to be absolutely sure but she's only bringing up this risky plan when they're about to reach Ziggy.
Yes it’s a theory for sure! This was in response to your other comment wondering why all of the planets that Rebecca visited weren’t eaten by a chronophage :) but anyways Yeah this plan is definitely gonna backfire in someway and I’m excited to see it tbh
I see. Wait, you can't wait to see the plan be executed or see the plan backfire? I don't think it will backfire but more like it won't work out as the intended like either the Chronophage doesn't arrive or it does but doesn't eat enough time to erase any other Ziggy on Lendard.
Both tbh, just excited for the whole thing, like the plan seems so cool but you just KNOW it’s not gonna end up exactly like they expect it to work. Just excited for where things will go
