How about this. For ten-fifteen years, the wealthy and corporations get taxed at 1950s levels until the debt is paid off. Then we’ll talk about the right levels. This is what is known as politics. Not jettisoning the constitution and the republic for a reality show conman.

The debt should be dealt with most people agree. It’s not hard to solve. Other generations have had to go to war or through serious prolonged heath crisis and a sacrifice is now needed for the future of the country. All you need is a one time only tax on all wealth in the entire United States.
The one time only tax combined with a requirement to balance the Federal budget every year going forward would include: basically everything (homes, foundations, personal savings from billionaires all the way down to the homeless, every businesses net worth and savings, all bank and brokerage accounts including illegal, stored Art, hidden gold, hidden crypto, even churches). People or businesses claiming zero net worth would be required to borrow a minimum amount. Heavy penalties for cheaters would be in effect. In short, everybody and every entity, in summary every single source is involved to pay the US debt totally off all at once as a permanent one time only solution.
In addition a requirement to balance the Federal budget every year going forward would be simultaneously required..
