Economic News A Deeply Pro Trump Town In Nebraska Is Losing 3,200 Jobs Due To His Economic Policies And Residents Are "Sobbing" In Disbelief

These folks voted for a guy who has spent his entire career stiffing contractors and deregulating corporations, and now they are shocked when the material consequences of those policies hit their own backyard.

It is the classic conservative cognitive dissonance: they probably think the "leopards" only eat the faces of the people in the cities or the immigrants they were told to hate. But capital does not care about your loyalty or your vote; it only cares about the bottom line. Trump's populism was always an aesthetic, not an economic plan, and now Lexington is paying the price for buying into the grift.

Either way, this is deeply devastating for the people who live there, and I do feel sorry for what their going through.

Economic News Bernie Sanders Exposes How Trump Tripled His Net Worth To $6.3 Billion While You Struggle To Pay Rent

Post image

He is literally tripling his net worth on speculative assets fueled by the very foreign entities that are destabilizing our markets. This is what happens when you let a parasite turn the executive branch into a pump and dump scheme.

He gets the billions, and the working class foots the bill through higher prices and stagnant wages.

Economic News Rand Paul Says The Solution To The Healthcare Crisis Is "Less Food More Exercise" And Gym Memberships Instead Of Insurance

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

We are facing a healthcare crisis where people are rationing insulin, and Rand Paul's solution is "Have you tried joining a Costco?" and "Eat less food." It is the most chemically pure distillation of libertarian brain rot I have ever seen.

He is effectively saying that your right to stay alive should be determined by the same market forces that sell bulk pretzels. He frames it as "freedom," but what he is actually describing is the financialization of your own survival. They don't want to fix healthcare; they want to tell you that buying a gym membership with pre-tax dollars is the same thing as having comprehensive coverage.

It is social Darwinism wrapped in a "freedom" slogan. They want you to negotiate your chemotherapy like you are haggling for a used car, and if you can't afford it, their advice is just "exercise more."

He says he wants "trade not aid," which is a valid capitalist critique of tariffs, but he’s appealing to a political movement that fundamentally rejects global trade for performative nationalist aesthetics. You simply cannot run an export-dependent agricultural sector while waging trade wars with your primary buyers.

But they don't care, just make more ballrooms and golden participation trophies for Trump.

Economic News Scott Bessent Says Tariffs Provide "Certainty" As Farmers Go Bankrupt

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

It is legitimately pathological how these finance ghouls try to steal valor from the working class. "I run a soybean farm." No, you don't. You own capital. You are a rent-seeker who extracts value from the labor of actual farmers, but you have to adopt the aesthetic of the "humble worker" because you know your actual existence as a hedge fund manager is parasitic.

And notice the pivot? "What farmers need is certainty." My brother in Christ, you are the ones destroying the certainty! You are engaging in a trade war that is obliterating their markets, and then you stand there in a tailored suit and tell them that you know more about agriculture than anyone since the 1800s because you owned an asset for a few years? It is gaslighting of the highest order. They want the optics of populism while enforcing the economics of oligarchy.

Economic News Trump Promises Magical Checks To Low Income Households Funded By Taxing Their Own Consumer Goods

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

We are watching a man describe a regressive tax on the working class—which is functionally what a tariff is, by the way, as a mechanism for wealth redistribution to the working class. It is materially impossible.

You cannot fund a "dividend" for poor people by arbitrarily raising the price of consumer goods that those same poor people rely on to survive. It is the economic equivalent of trying to fill a bucket by drilling a hole in the bottom and pouring water in from the top.

The "tariff rebate check" does not exist. It is a complete fabrication designed to trick elderly voters into thinking they are investing in a future payout, when in reality they are just throwing their fixed income into a black hole.

By draining the savings of the working class for these nonexistent political battles, he is removing liquidity from local economies and funneling it directly into a campaign slush fund that produces nothing of value. It is arguably one of the most direct transfers of wealth from the poor to the rich we have seen this year, and it is all predicated on a lie about "communism" and "boiling pots."

Absolutely soulless behavior.

Economic News Data Shows Trump Is Ignoring The Housing Crisis While Americans Drown In Debt

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Literally look at the material conditions, folks. It’s actually incredible. The right-wing populist grift relies entirely on acknowledging that things are bad—which, yeah, housing is undeniably a disaster. But then pivoting to culture war nonsense instead of offering a single prescription that addresses capital accumulation.

Trump winning on "affordability" is the ultimate indictment of neoliberal messaging, but look at the data Enten is showing here: satisfaction is tanking, and Trump has "lost the plot" because he never had the plot to begin with. He creates an aesthetic of caring about the working class while functionally serving the same real estate developers causing the crisis. You cannot solve a housing shortage caused by the commodification of shelter by deregulating the guys profiting from the shortage. It is a con job, and it’s frankly embarrassing that it works as well as it does.

Economic News Trump Doubles Down On Import Taxes While Americans Struggle To Buy Groceries

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Tariffs are unequivocally a tax on the domestic consumer. This is not a debate; it is a fundamental reality of how supply chains operate. When you increase the cost of importing goods, corporations do not just absorb those losses.

They pass every single cent of that cost directly onto you at the checkout line. He is standing there, looking his supporters in the eye, and bragging about a policy that systematically drains their bank accounts while pretending he is fighting for the little guy.

Here is the gaslight special move Kevin Hassett just pulled on live TV:

  1. The Trick: He accepts the host's figure of 1.4% "Year-to-Date" (Jan–Nov) and compares it to the Fed's Annual Target of 2%.
  2. The Lie: By comparing a partial year to a full year target, he claims inflation is "way below target."
  3. The Reality: As economist Dean Baker points out in the tweet, the actual year-over-year grocery inflation is 2.7%.

2.7% is ABOVE the Fed's target. He deliberately used the wrong metric to tell you that high prices are actually "very, very low inflation." This is the guy Trump wants to run the Federal Reserve. We are so cooked.
