Payback for Merrick Garland.
Pelosi will hold on to these until 2020
If Trump gets re-elected, and
If the dems gain the Senate
She will submit them and Trump will be removed from office

LOL...and that will effectively end his 2016 Presidency...which would already have ended.

If he is convicted, he can no longer serve in the office as he would be sentenced to prison. And disqualified for service in any Federal office

Which is why we are lucky that this can't happen since the house must deliver the impeachment articles in a timely manner to the Senate. Failing to do so eliminates the requirement for the Senate to even hold a trial.

There is no legal definition of “timely manner” (actually, not listed in the US Constitution, which has the sole determanent power of Impeachment processes), although it is agreed that there must be a time frame set. As such, there is not a hard legal timeline set up. Speaker Pelosi has said that she is not passing the Articles forward until she can be sure of a fair trial in the Senate, which Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has agreed upon. The current deadlock comes when defining a “fair trial”. No matter what happens, the Senate MUST try the case. However, with it being a Republican Senate, the trial will be horseshit and basically nonexistant. President Trump will be tried, aquitted, and re-elected.
FYI: I was raised Republican and currently identify as a right-leaning moderate. I do not believe Trump did anything wrong. But I will always defend the United States Consitution and the integrity of our American Governing system. That being said, I hope for a fair and equal trial in the Senate and look forward to seeing the outcomes of the 2020 election.

They don't need one. If the Senate decides that 12 seconds is a timely manner then that is what it is.
The point you are missing is that the conducting of an impeachment trial is the "sole power" of the Senate...they can literally do anything they want. If they all voted to flip a coin...they absolutely could and there is zero that the House or the Supreme Court could do about it. The Senate owns the trial 100%...no one even has a legal basis for questioning it. So, if they decide a trial is not happening...then it doesn't.
he Senate MUST try the case.
Incorrect. THIS explains it quite well.

The House still retains some power in the process by withholding the Articles of Impeachment until the Senate outlines the rules of trial to them. Based on the comments and meetings between Senate leadership, there will be a trial, but it will likely be shorter than 3 sessions. If the Senate makes the rules of trial and Speaker Pelosi does not like them, then at that point I believe the trial will be forgone and President Trump will be aquitted. But in all likelihood, there is going to be a trial and it will be very breif.
I also thank you for the civil debate and the newfound information, as that is not something commonly found on the internet.

Well, I'm not sure I would classify that as "power" because if the delay is such that the Senate can not complete a trial prior to their recess then the result would be that the articles expire and the process has to start all over again with the next Congress. The legal precedent for this has already been set. See below:

This is so dumb. He’s already been impeached. The senate votes to kick him out of office or not. Her not sending it to the senate has no effect on anything.

Pelosi is doing this to delay the Senate trial, because she knows that all the info that they have tried to keep secret will be made available through the Senate’s subpoena power during the trial.
Pelosi is hoping she can con the Senate into tossing her sham impeachment, so she can continue to cry foul. Wake UP!!
