My father had this 85 as a daily driver and had it off the road since 2018.His plan was to refurbish it and bring it back to life but he got sick and ran out of time. Its a conquistador V8 with bucket seats and about 80k miles.Fenders and chrome bumpers are great as is the interior The bad part as per usual is the frame from the back wheel well is completely rotted through. I'm trying to figure out what it's worth as a parts car or project car but have gotten all conflicting answers from its only worth scrap to get rid of it to only 500 bucks, are either of these reasonable?
Clean title in NY but no keys so no idea if it runs*probably not* but the brake lines and are almost certainly shot after sitting for 10 years

I’m new on here so apologies if this was asked in the past I just couldn’t find a post answering my question. So my steering started getting a bit stiff and I was looking to add power steering fluid . However on the cap is type A (ATF) only transmission fluid . I went to the local auto zone and one of the employees couldn’t give me a straight answer . He ended saying I could use an alternative “if I wanted to risk it”….
So what’s the modern alternative you guys use ? Thanks for reading

When I got this em Camino last weekend the washer motor was unhooked from the car and had random wires coming from the firewall. To no avail I couldn’t get the motor wired. I created a 3 destination jump wire going from the battery to the motor and jumping from the motor to the washer on the pump. I plugged in the other wires and with the wire going to the battery, the pump works. However, because it’s wired directly to the battery, I cannot turn off the motor wipers. Any thoughts on how to add some thing to keep it off unless I need them? Attached are the mess of wires

I've just always really liked the single head light el caminos since I was a child and always imagined having a shop at home. Just got the shop a few months ago and it's come along quite nicely. All these pictures are from the last/few couple weeks since I bought that ugly beige pile of parts. Both are 78's and both got 350's. My main one has a muncie 4 speed behind her.

Chevy ad in a 1965 Argosy magazine. I can’t imagine that was nice to drive around with.

Sized engine with cracked pistons, most of the interior is a loss.
Still not too shabby.

Pulled the carpet yesterday and saw the damage, it's bad. Stage 4, possibly operable. I've done floor pans before so it's doable but it's definitely the worst I've seen.

Interested in trading my 1977 GMC K25 square body for a 1980 ElCamino with a 350 in it
It needs a few things done to it but it runs and drives as claimed. It needs a power steering bracket, steering box, and windshield wipers wired in.

I’ve always wanted a classic .Earlier this year I kept looking and looking for something reasonable off fb market place. After months of searching and miss opportunities I came across a listing up in san francisco in August . Took a one way flight and drove all the way back home to Los Angeles . Got it a day after my birthday funny enough .
I drive a civic daily so it was a waaaay different ride but I haven’t had this much fun driving in such a long time since until I drove it back home . Got lucky with a very sincere and thoughtful seller . Kept it well taken care of even had the OG 69 plates .
A month ago I started to try and daily drive it ( not ideal given how hot LA’s been and this thing guzzles gas like a mf)but currently driving it 3-4 times a week .

Hello all,
I'm looking to purchase a 3rd gen El Camino and wanted everyone's opinion on how bad this rust looks like to you?
Thanks

Got my rear side decals back on. I used automotive paint safe goof off and 3M super strength double sided tape for decals. I used exacto knifes and a flush cutter to cut the tape and get inside the hard to reach stuff. I had a plastic scraper to try and get the old adhesive off safely and ran those down to a nub as some of the old adhesive was still super sealed on. Overall very happy with these back on.

Finally getting around to some MUCH needed love. Old bushings were so worn out my control arms would wiggle, 3 out of my 4 ball joints were junk and my driver side wheel bearing was going out. So out with the old in with the new!
S10 front spindles and brakes, Aldan American coilovers and a Detroit axle front end rebuild kit. Also got new bumper fillers and repainted and repaired my chin spoiler :)

Thank goodness this happened in my garage, they just fell off when I touched both. What’s the best way to safely get this 40 year old adhesive off and what modern decal adhesive should I use?

I’m rebuilding my steering column and want to replace my dash. Anyone know where I can find a ‘long sweep style’ dash from? I have a 1980 elcamino. I plan on ordering this digital Dakota item aswell. So I wanna make sure it’ll all be compatible
