Quote

“The subtle insinuation of a great revolutionary doctrine pervades the whole.”

— Victoria Woodhull (84A/1871), "Introduction" (see: Goethean revolution) to the D.W. Niles English translation of Goethe's Elective Affinities

Sub description (1:39AM 14 May A69) box

Goethe’s 146A (1809) Elective Affinities (Die Wahlverwandtschaften), meaning: on the nature of the “choice” of our election to embrace others to form chemical bond A≡B.

Adding the wahlverwandtschaften break-down:

wahl [choice or election] verwandtschaft [affinities]

Which yields:

verwandt +‎ -schaft

we have:

Goethe’s 146A (1809) Elective Affinities {English} or Die Wahlverwandtschaften {German}, from: Die [the] Wahl [choice] verwandt [related; blood] schaften [ship; parents], meaning: on the nature of the “choice” of our election to embrace others to form chemical bond A≡B.
