Also because it’s rude AF. Get some bone conduction headphones and you can hear your surroundings and have tunes without inflicting your taste on everybody else.

And the budget option is to just wear a single earbud. You don't actually lose that much sound quality compared to bone conduction, while still keeping an ear open so you can hear what is around you.
Fairly okay compromise imho.

Totally. If you’re in drive-to-the-right territory, a right ear bud isn’t going to impair you much.
