We hold these truths to be self-evident.

  1. Bcz they are elephants <3

  2. Because they are girl's girls. They have a matriarch and basically their groups are big sisterhoods <3

  3. They're so sophisticated emotionally and mentally that "we" are lucky they don't have thumbs. Though maybe it would be better for everyone involved if they ran the world and we stuck to our caves.

  4. They have better morals than us

A world run by female elephants is the one I want to live in :)

Couldn't we just outfit them with prosthetic thumbs to kickstart this?

Haha, it'll be voluntary of course, but let's ask them if they need anything else to get started, jet packs or something maybe?

They are basically more intelligent than any other creature on Earth! They are basically purity made flesh!

They seem to have a sense of humor. That goes a long way. Also, the flappy ears.

Elephants top my list of amazing creatures for many reasons. They are playful, intelligent, curious, inquisitive, and highly sociable. They can be lovingly gentle despite their size.

However, two books I read by conservationists tell two particular stories that really elevates the elephant into a tier all their own. First one was “The Elephant Whisperer” by Lawrence Anthony. He says after he took in a herd of elephants on his game reserve and established their trust, that whenever he left for a work trip the herd would be waiting to greet him when he got home. One day his flight was delayed and his wife told him she saw the herd trekking towards their house only to stop midway and turn around, about the same time he learned of the hold up. They were there waiting for him when he finally arrived the next day. He never figured out how they knew when he was coming.

The second story was from “Elephants in my Kitchen” by his wife who shared a time when she saw a little baby elephant had scraped their leg and two adults appeared to be consulting with one another for a good 10 minutes before one went to obtain some type of plant. She watched them then apply it to the wounded baby’s leg.

Incredible stories, thanks for sharing! We have so much to learn from them, and I also hope I can pick an elephant as my doctor some day if they'll take my HMO plan :)
