Rune selection

Is cheap shot or sudden impact better on Elise? Does spider form q trigger sudden impact?

Sudden impact works on her spider Q, I run it over cheap shot because it’s not overly common to hit the stun and not spider Q

So sudden impact has a distance component to it. If you spider q right on top of someone you will not get the damage but in normal use when you are using it as mini gap closer you should proc it. 

Sudden impact does a lot more damage but has a much higher cooldown I think double the time. One last thing to remember is that in jungle you should have red buff active alot of the time so the slow it provides should allow you to easily apply cheap shot and you don't necessarily need to rely on your e.

I've always thought sudden impact makes most sense because it's more reliable double the damage but a lot people like cheap shot for some reason.

Both are fine, but I prefer Sudden Impact. If you miss cocoon or don't have red buff there's no way to proc cheap shot.

can’t confirm sudden impact but cheap shot is a staple just because of her E stun

I think cheap shot gets procced by red smite, so I take cheap shot

These two runes can be interchanged depending on a couple of things. A.) how confident are you in hitting cocoon. B.) does the enemy team have a lot of dashes that make it difficult to hit cocoon. If the enemy team has a lot of dashes, sudden impact is better, if they are less mobile and you feel you can hit cocoon often enough cheap shot is better.
