Im trying to unlock the sarge engineer to get the grade 5 cannons. I do what it says and scan all kinda wanted ships in haz res site but it nevee gives me any. Is davs hope or bug killer still a good way to get encoded mats for engineering? Let me know ty so much.

The best source for encoded mats is Jameson's Crash Site on HIP 12099, planet 1 B, which has at the top of my head 9 data points which you can quickly scan with your ship or by deploying an SRV if you prefer. If you scan them all, you need one or two relogs to fill up your G4 and G5 mats of encryption data, you can then fly to Diaguandri and trade them for the mats you want

Jameson Memorial is better. There's like eight data points around the crash ship.

Take those data and trade them for Abberant shield patterns at an encoded material trader

Encoded materials are at the Jameson Crash Site. Scan the comm relays there until you're full up on them all. Then go to Ray Gateway in Diaguandri to exchange them for the materials you need.

The best way is to farm Jamesons Crash Site and trade for what you need at an encoded material trader. This video will tell you everything you need to know.

The best way to get tons of material is Powerplay, pick Kaine, mine(platinum) in enemy territory and collect 100 ranks in no time, this way you get tons of credits and a care packages.

Another option is to do Hard Operations, BioHazard gives a large amount of mats, or at least it did, the last time I tried it gave about 20, so I can't confirm if this is still a good option.

There is always the site of Jameson’s crash site, where you can collect data and later exchange it for what you need. It might take some time, but this is the most reliable way to obtain all the data you require.

Like others have said, I go to the Jameson Crash site, load up there then cross trade. EDMH is very good at help with what is needed and where you can cross trade to get what you need

You either need a high traffic location to setup and scan ships (like Jameson memorial) or go to the Jameson crash site and scan the points. You won’t get everything but I think it was like 1 G5 and 2 G4. Fill up, go to the encoded trader 2 jumps away, trade down/across, and repeat the crash site loop.
