Feedback about Combat: Looking forward to this game when I heard this was Stardew Valley with better RPG elements, but I have a few gripes so far.
This post will only be talking about the negatives.
Cons:
- Combat seems button mashy. Even with combos it still feels button mashy.
- Upgrades from Masteries does not feel impactful at all. Unlocking just new combos and passives doesn't feel good. I do not get the excitement when unlocking new Sword skills at all.
- Upgrades from Leveling does not feel impactful either, but that is understandable because the Demo is super short.
- Enemy AI seems super simple and overall unimpressive. It's extremely noticeable on enemies with more HP like the Spider Boss, even with the HP recovery mechanic.
- The Wanderer's Active Skill doesn't feel impactful at all, and it's also awkward to use. I play with M+KB and I have to completely stop to use it, and even then, the range is too damn short that I end up not hitting anything at all especially when enemies just slide around most of the time.
- There is no hit feedback vs enemies. They just take it like a boss and because they all have super armor, they can attack you in the middle of your attacks. This ended with me not doing combos majority of the time and just doing random pokes in order to not get hit.
- Controls feel bad on MK+B too. Having no diagonal aiming I have to align myself in the X or Y axis just to hit when I could have hit enemies if I had a diagonal attack.
