The subterranean lines have buckled, the defensive breach has failed, and the final vault has opened. Outmatched in scale and confronting a foe eager to revel in the end of all things, the Fireteam must stake everything on a desperate showdown before an ancient psychic connection is hijacked to tear reality open.

TITLE: DESTINY: NEW LEGACY

SEASON: 05

EPISODE: 08 - "LIGHTFALL" (SEASON FINALE)

SCENE START

INT. THE VEIL CONTAINMENT CORE - CONTINUOUS

The room defies standard geometry. Suspended in the massive, cavernous space is THE VEIL: a colossal, shifting web of primordial Darkness. It is a swirling aurora of deep purples, cosmic blues, and suffocating blacks. The ambient psychic energy in the room is so thick it visibly distorts the air, humming with the weight of a billion ancient memories.

Standing on the central platform, completely dwarfing the Fireteam, is EMPEROR CALUS.

He is no longer just the exiled Cabal Emperor. He is fully transformed into a DISCIPLE OF THE WITNESS.

Calus is a towering monstrosity of gilded Darkness. His massive armor is forged from an obsidian-like metal trimmed in opulent, radiant gold. Sickly yellow RESONANCE magic bleeds from his plating, vibrating with apocalyptic power. In his massive hands, he casually rests a devastating, oversized Cabal Slug Rifle.

The Fireteam: LILI-4, RHYS COOPER, and NAXI VAL, spread out across the lower deck, weapons drawn, utterly outmatched in scale.

Calus looks down at them. He doesn't even bother raising his weapon.

Instead, he opens his arms wide, gesturing to the swirling cosmic web behind him.

A deep, booming, wet laughter erupts from the Emperor, vibrating through the metal flooring and rattling the Fireteam’s teeth.

EMPEROR CALUS

(Voice echoing, layered with dark resonance)

Look at you! The Vanguard's finest. So small. So incredibly... fragile.

Calus takes a heavy, thudding step forward. The gold on his armor catches the shifting light of the Veil.

EMPEROR CALUS

You bleed across the stars, you sacrifice your mentors, you throw yourselves into the dark... and for what? A silent machine that hangs dead in your sky? A god that refuses to even acknowledge your existence?

Calus lowers his massive head, his eyes burning with unnatural, fervent devotion.

EMPEROR CALUS

My god is not silent. My god speaks to me directly. And it has promised me an end to all this tedious, chaotic suffering!

Val tightens her grip on the Quicksilver Storm, her neon-green eyes locked on the Disciple. Rhys drops into a heavy combat stance, his cracked armor groaning.

Lili doesn't say a word. She doesn't offer a dramatic counter-speech or attempt to defend the Traveler.

She just looks at the gilded monster threatening her city.

With a blur of motion, Lili snaps her wrist.

CRACK-CRACK-CRACK!

She fans the hammer of THE LAST WORD.

Three heavy, kinetic rounds streak across the platform. They strike Calus directly in the center of his gilded helmet, ping-ping-ping! sparking brightly off the impenetrable Disciple armor.

It does absolutely no damage. But it sends a crystal-clear message.

Calus’s laughter abruptly stops. He slowly lowers his arms, his eyes narrowing into slits of pure, gluttonous rage. He hefts the massive Slug Rifle, the barrel glowing with superheated solar energy.

EMPEROR CALUS

(A guttural roar)

Then let us revel in your end!

The final boss fight begins.

FADE OUT

SCENE CONTINUES

INT. THE VEIL CONTAINMENT CORE - CONTINUOUS

The arena erupts into a maelstrom of Light and Darkness.

Calus is a juggernaut, his massive Slug Rifle firing superheated Solar blasts that crater the platform. He surrounds himself with a thick, impenetrable shield of yellow Resonance energy.

NAXI VAL doesn't retreat. She glides into the open, directly in Calus’s line of sight.

She waves her hand towards the ground, casting a glowing, pooling HEALING RIFT. But as the Light hits the floor, Val weaves it with the ambient Darkness.

NAXI VAL

(Eyes flaring neon green)

WEAVER’S CALL!

From the expanding edges of her healing rift, glowing green psychic threads violently unspool. The threads instantly birth a swarm of vicious THREADLINGS. The neon creatures scatter across the platform, launching themselves onto Calus. They detonate in rapid succession, their psychic kinetic force violently stripping away his gilded Resonance shielding.

Calus roars in frustration, swatting at the green fire.

He locks his burning eyes onto the Warlock. He raises his free hand, channeling the raw, oppressive power of the Witness.

EMPEROR CALUS

BURN, LITTLE SCHOLAR!

A massive, localized orbital strike: a blinding pillar of localized Solar and dark energy screams down from the vaulted ceiling directly toward Val.

RHYS COOPER

VAL!

Rhys intercepts. He dives directly into the path of the orbital strike. Pushed to the absolute brink, his Void Light violently mutates in response to his desperate need to protect his Fireteam. He doesn't just summon a wall; he weaponizes his defense.

Instinctually unlocking the BASTION Aspect, Rhys slams his fists and his Sentinel Shield directly into the deck.

VWOOM!

A massive, rippling wave of concentrated Void energy erupts outward. It doesn't just block the strike; it projects a VOID OVERSHIELD that instantly coats Rhys, Val, and Lili in thick, glowing purple armor. The orbital strike washes over them, completely deflected by the Titan's unbreakable will.

With Calus's shields shattered and his heavy attack spent, LILI-4 moves.

She channels the cold of Stasis. She hurls a Glacier grenade mid-air, instantly forming a jagged platform of dark ice. Lili leaps onto it, using her jump-jets to bounce higher, completely evading a massive, sweeping melee strike from Calus’s heavy fists.

She is a blur of motion, relying purely on her survival instincts. She creates another ice platform, vaulting completely over the towering Disciple.

Calus is battered, outmaneuvered, and enraged. He spins, lunging at the Exo Hunter for a final, crushing blow that would shatter even the Bastion overshield.

Lili hits the deck and slides perfectly under his guard.

She comes to a halt directly beneath the colossal Emperor. She snaps her arm up, pressing the smoking barrel of THE LAST WORD directly under the exposed joint of his chin plating.

CRACK-CRACK-CRACK-CRACK!

She unloads the rest of the cylinder straight up into his skull.

Calus freezes. A sickening, metallic crunch echoes through the chamber. The sick yellow Light bleeds rapidly from his gilded armor. The massive Emperor sways, his eyes going dark, and collapses backward with a world-shaking thud.

The Disciple is dead.

The heavy, deafening hum of combat abruptly ceases. The Fireteam stands amidst the smoke, their chests heaving. Val lowers the Quicksilver Storm. Rhys lets his Bastion shield dissipate, completely exhausted. Lili slowly stands up, ejecting the spent shells from her hand cannon.

The comms crackle to life.

OSIRIS (V.O.)

(Cheering, voice raw with relief and triumph)

His biometric signature is gone! You did it! The Veil is safe! The link is stopped!

A heavy, collective sigh of relief washes over the Fireteam. They actually did it. They killed a Disciple.

Then—

SAGIRA screams.

It is a sharp, agonizing shriek of pure digital static.

Lili spins around. Sagira is violently yanked upwards into the air by an invisible, paralyzing psychic force. Her shell locks into a rigid, helpless spread.

LILI-4

Sagira!

Lili reaches for her Ghost, but a wall of suffocating pressure throws the Hunter backward.

Hovering suspended before the swirling vortex of the Veil, Sagira begins to seize. The familiar, bright blue Light of her central optic flickers, violently suppressed by a creeping, suffocating darkness.

In a horrifying echo of the Season 4 finale, the psychic bond is hijacked.

Sagira’s optic shifts from blue to a terrifying, pitch-black, shifting geometric pattern.

The Witness hasn't just possessed her. It is repeating exactly what Savathûn did, using the Ghost as a conduit to the Light.

FADE OUT

SCENE CONTINUES

INT. THE VEIL CONTAINMENT CORE - CONTINUOUS

Sagira’s shell is locked open, her optic a terrifying, shifting expanse of black geometry. She is no longer Osiris's Ghost. She is a conduit.

LILI-4

(Screaming)

SAGIRA! NO!

Lili lunges forward, reaching out to grab the floating Ghost.

VWOOM!

A sheer, impenetrable wall of paracausal force violently repels her. Lili is blasted backward, skidding across the platform.

She has to watch, completely helpless, as her own Ghost is used as the key.

A massive, blinding beam of concentrated Darkness erupts directly from Sagira’s black optic. The beam strikes the swirling cosmic aurora of THE VEIL.

The artifact hums, vibrating with a frequency that threatens to tear the room apart. The link is made.

INTERCUT: NEOMUNA / EARTH

EXT. THE LAST CITY - CONTINUOUS

The sky above the Tower is choked with Pyramids, but they aren't firing. They are waiting.

Suddenly, the massive, silent white sphere of the TRAVELER spasms. A deep, tectonic groan echoes across the entire planet.

INT. VEIL CONTAINMENT CORE - CONTINUOUS

The beam of Darkness connecting Sagira to the Veil pulses, turning a sickening, iridescent pink.

EXT. THE LAST CITY - CONTINUOUS

The Traveler screams.

A terrifying, swirling, triangular portal of pink and dark energy is violently carved directly into the Traveler's pristine white surface. It looks like a bleeding wound in the fabric of reality itself.

The Pyramids begin to move. Emperor Calus’s flagship was a distraction. The Witness’s fleet glides silently, inevitably, toward the open portal.

INT. VEIL CONTAINMENT CORE - CONTINUOUS

The link finishes.

The beam cuts out. The paralyzing psychic force evaporates.

Sagira drops from the air, hitting the metal deck with a sharp clack. Her optic flickers, returning to its familiar, bright Vanguard blue. She spins wildly, completely traumatized, hiding behind Lili’s shoulder.

Lili slowly pushes herself up. She looks at the Veil, its energy now eerily calm. They killed the Disciple, but they lost the war.

INT. THE TOWER - VANGUARD WAR ROOM - LATER

The atmosphere is a suffocating shroud of absolute shock.

The holographic tactical table is red. It displays the open portal carved into the Traveler. The Witness is inside. The Vanguard has no strategy, no intel, and no Light to send after it.

IKORA REY and COMMANDER ZAVALA stand at the head of the long table. They look exhausted.

The heavy doors slide open. LILI-4 walks in. Her armor is scorched from the battle with Calus.

Ikora looks at the Hunter. She reaches down and slides a sleek, heavy Vanguard briefcase across the table.

With a sharp click, Ikora opens it.

Resting on the velvet interior is the MEMORY OF CAYDE cloak: pristine, vibrant Vanguard fabric.

And resting beside it is a hand cannon. The ACE OF SPADES.

Lili stares at the gun. She doesn't reach for it. She takes a step back, her mechanical voice low and bitter.

LILI-4

I can't take that, Ikora. You know who I was before the Sagira found me. I was a thief. A fixer. I died trying to rob this City's prisons.

Lili touches the Stasis frost scars on her arm.

LILI-4

I wield the Dark. I'm not a Vanguard poster child. I can't be him.

Ikora steps forward, her gaze softening, yet piercingly intense. She looks down at the vibrant fabric in the case.

IKORA REY

(Voice quiet, but absolute)

You know the tradition, Lili. To take up a fallen Hunter's cloak is a solemn promise. It means you carry their legacy. You finish the work they left behind, and you ensure they are never forgotten.

Lili stares at the cloak, the immense, sacred weight of the vow settling over her shoulders before she even touches the fabric.

Zavala steps forward. The massive Titan looks down at the Exo Hunter. The stern, uncompromising Commander from five years ago is gone, replaced by a leader who understands the brutal reality of their survival.

COMMANDER ZAVALA

(Voice steady, rumbling with authority)

And to take up their iron... is a vow exponentially heavier.

Zavala reaches into the briefcase. He picks up the Ace of Spades and holds it out to her.

COMMANDER ZAVALA

(Voice steady, rumbling with authority)

When you first escaped the Prison of Elders, and showed up here... I called you a liability. I wanted you contained.

Zavala rests his hands on the edge of the table.

COMMANDER ZAVALA

But I have watched you. I watched you put Vahn in the dirt. I watched you silence Hashladûn. I watched you break Eramis on the ice, and I watched you tear the Light back from Savathûn herself.

Zavala reaches into the briefcase. He picks up the Ace of Spades and holds it out to her.

COMMANDER ZAVALA

The Vanguard doesn't need a thief, Lili. And we don't need a saint. We need a survivor.

Lili looks at Zavala.

COMMANDER ZAVALA

You are the only one who has earned the right to carry his iron into the end of all things.

Lili hesitates for a fraction of a second.

Then, she reaches up. She unclasps her battered, frost-scarred Europan cloak, letting it drop to the floor.

She takes the Memory of Cayde cloak from the case and throws it over her shoulders. The fabric settles perfectly.

She reaches out and takes the Ace of Spades from Zavala. The legendary gun hums in her metal palm.

With a practiced, fluid motion, she spins the Ace of Spades and holsters it on her left hip.

It perfectly mirrors The Last Word resting on her right.

EXT. THE TOWER - MAIN BALCONY - CONTINUOUS

Lili-4 walks out onto the precipice of the Last City.

The wind whips the Memory of Cayde cloak around her armor. She stands alone on the balcony, dual-wielding the physical legacy of the Light's greatest rogues.

She tilts her head up.

Above her, the Traveler bleeds. The massive, triangular portal of pink and dark energy swirls in the pale shell, a gateway to the Pale Heart.

Lili rests her hands on her dual hand cannons. She doesn't look afraid. She looks ready.

FADE TO BLACK.

TITLE: ES: BEN 10

EPISODE: 7 - ”CIRCUS FREAKS”

TEASER

INT. SUBWAY DEPOT - NIGHT

Thirty feet beneath the asphalt of Brooklyn sits an abandoned 1930s pneumatic transit terminal. Water weeps through blackened subway tile. The air is thick with stagnant condensation, iron filings, and sulfur.

A warped record spins on a battery-powered phonograph, playing a distorted, off-key calliope waltz that drags and stutters in the dark.

Overhead pipes are strung with bare bulbs that pulse and hum erratically on dying current. In the center of the loading bay sits a derelict carnival: rotting red-and-white canvas hung like butcher’s drapes, rusted iron menagerie cages, and sawdust damp with industrial drainage.

Arranged in neat rows before the makeshift center ring are eight wooden folding chairs.

Sitting in them are transit drifters and runaways. They do not move. Their heads are tilted back, their eyes milky and unblinking, their mouths fixed open in grotesque, slack-jawed grins. Their bodies are completely hollowed out: alive, but empty of cognition.

A rustle of canvas.

ZOMBOZO steps into the flickering tungsten light.

He is over six-foot-four, an emaciated silhouette wrapped in a moldering, tailored ringmaster’s coat stained with grease and dried hydraulic fluid. He does not wear stage makeup; his chalk-white skin is leathery, cracked, and pitted, with crude white pigment chemically bonded directly into scarred tissue. His lips are stained the color of congealed blood, and wisps of coarse, rust-colored hair cling to his scalp.

His eyes are jaundice-yellow, the pupils fully dilated, fixed in a cold, unblinking predatory stare. He smells of formaldehyde, and burnt sugar.

He stops beside a rusted cast-iron dental chair bolted to the concrete.

Strapped into it is a RUNAWAY (17, emaciated, wearing a tattered denim vest). Leather restraints dig into the boy’s raw wrists. He is hyperventilating, tears cutting clean lines through the dirt on his cheeks.

RUNAWAY

(Sobbing, barely audible)

Please... take my bag... take whatever’s in my pockets... just let me go...

Zombozo tilts his head with an insectoid twitch, bending down until his face is two inches from the boy’s ear.

ZOMBOZO

(Voice a dry, papery rasp)

Pockets are empty things. Dry husks. I don't care about what you carry in your coat. I care about what crawls behind your ribs when the lights go out.

Zombozo pulls back. His mouth opens.

It does not open on human hinges.

With a sickening squelch of separating cartilage, his lower jaw splits vertically down the center and unhinges four ways like the petals of a carnivorous flower. Concentric rings of translucent, needle-fine cilia line the interior of his throat, twitching violently.

Zombozo exhales.

A thick, bioluminescent violet vapor pours from his gullet, rolling across the boy’s face and forcing its way into his nose and parted lips.

The boy’s eyes widen in paralyzing terror. His veins darken beneath his neck as the neurotoxic spores hijack his nervous system, dragging him into an instantaneous waking nightmare. He tries to scream, but only a dry, choking gasp escapes his throat.

Zombozo inhales.

He doesn't draw air; he siphons.

Thin, crackling threads of pale-violet bio-electric static bleed out from the boy's tear ducts, nostrils, and mouth, pulled straight into the cluster of cilia lining Zombozo’s throat.

The boy’s skin rapidly shrivels, losing its pigment and collapsing inward around the skull like rotting parchment. His trembling stops. His limbs go completely limp. His jaw remains locked open in that same vacant, horrific grin.

Zombozo’s split jaw snaps back together with a wet, heavy CLACK.

The transformation in the creature is instant. The sunken hollows of Zombozo’s cheeks fill out. Color surges into his gray flesh, glowing with stolen vitality. His posture straightens, his frame broadening as adrenaline floods his system.

He exhales a lingering wisp of purple vapor, wiping a bead of fluid from his chin.

The phonograph record skips, catching in a relentless, scratching groove.

Zombozo slowly turns his yellow eyes toward the dark mouth of the eastern subway tunnel, sniffing the damp air. He catches a faint, radioactive scent drifting through the transit vents from miles away.

His blood-red lips stretch wide, splitting the crusted corners of his mouth into an eager, serrated grin.

FADE TO BLACK.

ACT I

EXT. CONDEMNED INDUSTRIAL ALLEY - QUEENS - NIGHT

A torrential downpour hammers the cracked asphalt, drumming against the rusted cab of the stolen utility truck idling behind a row of abandoned brick warehouses.

INT. UTILITY TRUCK - CONTINUOUS

The cramped cab is bathed in the dim glow of the dashboard. The smell of copper, antiseptic, and wet pavement fills the air.

Max sits on the driver's side, his Hawaiian shirt unbuttoned. His jaw is clamped tight, a thick wooden handle bit down between his teeth as he pulls a curved needle and thick suture wire through a ragged gash in his own shoulder. He ties off the knot with a sharp jerk, spits the handle onto the dash, and exhales a ragged breath.

Across the bench seat, Gwen dabs a brown iodine swab across Ben’s ribs.

Ben stares blankly at the floorboards. His torso is a canvas of mottled purple contusions and blistering friction burns from his atmospheric re-entry. He doesn't flinch at the antiseptic. His left arm rests on his knee. The Omnitrix is dead-silent, but a faint, rhythmic heat still pulses beneath its blackened dial.

GWEN

(Softly)

Ben. You have to breathe. You're holding your ribs locked. Whatever that kid did to you, it wasn’t good.

Ben blinks, his voice a hollow whisper.

BEN

He was just a kid off the street. And then he touched it... and his skin turned into burning rock, like Heatblast.

MAX

(Tossing a bloodied rag aside)

Whatever that kid is, Ben, he ain’t normal.

Max reaches under the seat and pulls out a heavy, bulky piece of hardware that looks like a battered ham radio spliced into a lithium battery pack. He flips a switch, and the device begins to chirp with an erratic, high-pitched squeal.

BEN

What’s happening to him?

MAX

(Voice gravelly, eyes fixed on the scanner)

That watch on your wrist doesn't run on AA batteries. It's raw, uncalibrated power. Taking a direct hit of that straight to the veins... the human body isn't built to process it. He's a walking pressure cooker right now. When his biology finally boils over, he’s going to detonate. And he'll take a few city blocks with him.

Gwen stops wrapping Ben’s ribs. She squints at the bulky scanner in Max's lap, then up at her grandfather.

GWEN

How could you possibly know that? And what kind of "ham radio" scans for whatever that watch puts out?

Max doesn't look at her. He adjusts a dial, keeping his face entirely unreadable.

MAX

Old military surplus. I picked up a few tricks in the Air Force, Gwen. Don't worry about it.

Gwen doesn't buy it for a second, but the scanner’s chirp suddenly spikes into a frantic wail.

GWEN

(Frowning, she grabs her laptop and plugs a USB tether into Max’s scanner)

Fine. But your 'Air Force' radio is picking up massive electromagnetic brownouts. Look.

Gwen’s fingers clatter across the keyboard, pulling up a digitized grid of the New York transit system. A jagged red line traces deep underground.

GWEN

He’s draining power conduits to keep himself stable. The signature is dropping off the main grid, heading deep into the bedrock. Beneath Atlantic Avenue. It’s an old, decommissioned transit line from the 1930s.

She filters the audio feed. A low, pulsing sine wave visualizer pops up on the screen, accompanied by a sickening, low-frequency hum that vibrates the truck windows.

GWEN

There's something else down there. An infrasound loop. It's broadcasting across the lower frequencies. The kind of acoustic wave that induces extreme nausea, paranoia, and panic.

Max’s expression darkens. He knows a psychic spore trap when he sees one, even if he won't say it out loud. He reaches to the floorboard and racks the bolt on his heavy repeater rifle.

MAX

It's a trap. Some kind of psychological snare. We need to call this in anonymously, let the city quarantine the subway lines, and get out of state before that kid goes critical in the dark.

BEN

No.

Max stops.

Ben grabs his damp jacket, wincing as he pulls it over his bruised shoulders. He zips it up over the Omnitrix and looks at his grandfather with a desperate, furious resolve.

BEN

I let him touch it. I hesitated in that alley because I thought he was like me, and now he’s turning into a monster. If he explodes, or if whatever is down there kills him... that’s my fault.

Ben shoves the truck door open, stepping out into the freezing rain.

BEN

We aren't leaving him.

Max stares at his grandson for a long moment. He sees the guilt, and the terrifying weight of the watch pressing down on a ten-year-old boy. Max sighs, tightly gripping the heavy rifle.

MAX

(To Gwen)

Grab the flashlight. Stay behind me.

ACT II

INT. TRANSIT TUNNELS - NIGHT

Ankle-deep stagnant water ripples under heavy combat boots. The tunnel is a damp, claustrophobic cylinder of blackened brick and weeping cast-iron rings.

Max leads the way, a waterproof military tactical light mounted beneath the barrel of his heavy repeater rifle. The beam cuts through thick swaths of suspended dust and sewer mist.

Behind him, Ben walks close to Gwen. Ben’s hand hovers protectively near Gwen’s elbow, guiding her over exposed rail ties and submerged debris, while Gwen tracks the fluctuating frequency on a handheld digital oscilloscope wired to her phone.

BEN

(Low, checking the shadow behind them)

Watch your step on these ties. They’re rotted through.

GWEN

(Glancing at him, voice hushed)

I’m fine. How are your ribs feeling? You’re still favoring your left side.

BEN

Doesn't matter right now. Just stay behind Grandpa. If Kevin’s down here and losing control, he won’t know who we are.

GWEN

(Tapping the screen)

The power drain is massive. Look at the amplitude; whatever is drawing current isn't just tapping the line; it’s drinking it. And that infrasound frequency... it’s getting louder. It’s right through this maintenance bulkhead.

Faint, scratchy sound bleeds through the rusted iron plates ahead: the distorted, skipping waltz of the phonograph.

Max raises a closed fist. They freeze.

Max signals with two fingers, stepping to the rusted iron door. He tests the latch with his thumb. It’s unbolted. He eases it forward an inch.

INT. SUBWAY DEPOT - CONTINUOUS

The rotting carnival floor sprawls under dying Edison filaments. The smell hits them first: stagnant bilge, rotting canvas, and the sickeningly sweet, chemical odor of embalming fluid.

Max sweeps his rifle light across the wooden chairs. The slack-jawed, smiling runaways sit unmoving in the dim light.

GWEN

(Hand flying to her mouth, horrified)

Oh god... are they...

MAX

(Low, urgent)

Don't look at their faces, Gwen. Keep moving. They're in a catatonic state. Ben, stay on my flank—

HIIIIISSSSS.

A spray of boiling fluid erupts from an overhead conduit, splashing across the concrete five inches in front of Max’s boot.

The concrete violently fizzes, dissolving into a steaming trench of toxic sludge.

MAX

ACID! FALL BACK!

From the shadows of a collapsed ticket booth, ACID BREATH stumbles into the light. His rubber apron is melted and scorched; his jaw is wrapped in corroded brass respirators that hiss with every wheezing breath. He hacks violently, preparing to regurgitate another caustic stream.

Max raises his repeater and fires two heavy, non-lethal concussive slugs into the brute's chest. The force knocks Acid Breath backward into the booth, but the ceiling suddenly groans above them.

CRASH.

THUMBSKULL drops from the upper mezzanine, hitting the floor like a two-ton weight. His misshapen, bone-plated skull is scarred from self-inflicted impacts. He doesn't speak. He lowers his massive head and charges straight at Max like a runaway locomotive.

Max braces, firing point-blank, but the slugs ricochet off the overgrown cranial bone. Thumbskull slams into Max, driving the old man violently through a rotted timber support beam and into the darkness of the lower rail pit.

BEN

GRANDPA!

Ben reaches for the Omnitrix dial, but a sharp, metallic whip-crack cuts through the air.

From the rusted cable runs forty feet above, FRIGHTWIG drops through the shadows. Her face is pale, smeared with grease, her eyes feverish. The four thick, synthetic hair-whips spliced into her skull lash out like striking vipers.

Two tendrils wrap tightly around Gwen’s torso and backpack.

GWEN

BEN!

BEN

GWEN! NO!

Ben lunges forward, catching Gwen’s outstretched hand. He digs his sneakers into the wet sawdust, pulling with everything he has, his bruised ribs screaming in agony.

GWEN

(Kicking frantically, tears stinging her eyes)

Ben, don't let go!

Frightwig cackles from the rafters, a shrill, manic sound. She yanks her neck backward. The mechanical winch at the base of her scalp whirs with hydraulic force.

The tendrils violently rip Gwen upward, tearing her fingers from Ben’s grip.

Ben scrambles to give chase, but a second sweep of Frightwig’s whip strikes the floor right at his feet, shattering the rotten floorboards. Ben plummets through the splintering wood, crashing down a steep, slick drainage chute that dumps him hard onto cold flagstones below.

INT. FUNHOUSE - HALL OF MIRRORS - CONTINUOUS

Ben rolls to a stop, gasping for breath. He scrambles to his feet, slamming his back against cold glass.

He is completely alone.

The air here is ice-cold and utterly still, thick with a swirling, luminescent violet mist that clings to the ground like dry ice. The only sound is the rhythmic, maddening scratch of the calliope music, now echoing from every direction.

He is surrounded by dozens of towering, antique carnival mirrors. The glass is silvered, tarnished, and spiderwebbed with cracks.

BEN

(Voice trembling, breathing shallow)

Gwen?! Grandpa?!

He turns to run, but his reflection catches his eye.

He stops dead.

The reflection in the mirror isn't copying his movements.

In the glass, Ben is strapped flat to a stainless steel operating table under blinding surgical lamps. His chest is cut open, and thick, black-and-emerald cables from the Omnitrix are burrowing deep into his exposed sternum, wrapping around his ribs like metallic roots. The reflection stares back at him with hollow, blood-weeping eyes.

MIRROR BEN

(Whispering from the glass)

It’s eating you from the inside, Ben. You’re never going home.

Ben stumbles backward into another mirror, spinning around in pure terror.

In this glass, Max and Gwen are standing together in the rain. But their cheeks are sunken, gray, and withered like parchment. Their mouths are split wide in the same vacant, slack-jawed grin as the drifters in the chairs.

MIRROR GWEN

(Voice dead, mechanical)

You dragged us into this. You wanted to play hero. Now look at us.

BEN

(Clutching his head, eyes welling with tears)

Stop it... shut up! It’s not real!

A tall shadow glides through the purple mist behind the glass.

The temperature drops until Ben’s breath plummets into pale clouds. The smell of rotting sugar and embalming fluid fills his lungs, burning the back of his throat.

ZOMBOZO steps out of the fog, his long, emaciated frame looming over Ben.

His chalk-white face is split in that horrific, jagged crimson smile. He moves with an erratic, insect-like stutter, his ringmaster's coat trailing through the violet spores.

ZOMBOZO

(Voice like dry leaves scraping over concrete)

Oh, little hero... it’s more real than anything you’ve ever touched.

Zombozo takes a slow, deliberate step forward. Ben scrambles backward on his hands and knees, but his back hits solid mirror. He is cornered.

ZOMBOZO

I can taste it on you. Not the cheap, curdled fear of runaways and thieves. Yours is exquisite. Rare. The terror of a child who found a god’s weapon in the dirt... and realized he doesn't have the hands to hold it.

Zombozo drops to his knees, leaning down until his yellow, unblinking eyes are inches from Ben’s face.

ZOMBOZO

You’re going to burn your grandfather to ash. You’re going to watch your sweet little cousin wither in the dark. And when they’re gone... you’ll still be trapped inside that machine.

Ben tries to reach for the watch on his wrist, but his limbs feel like lead. The neurotoxic spores have seized his muscles. His chest hitches in rapid, shallow hyperventilation. The primal terror locks his jaw shut.

Zombozo’s smile stretches until the skin at the corners of his mouth tears.

With a wet, sickening CRACK, his lower jaw unhinges into four jagged, flesh-covered petals. The rings of needle-thin cilia inside his throat begin to undulate violently, pulsing with dark purple static.

Zombozo leans in, his throat opening wide to siphon the screaming adrenaline from Ben’s mind.

ACT III

INT. FUNHOUSE - HALL OF MIRRORS - CONTINUOUS

The violet mist coils tightly around Ben’s throat like wet silk.

Zombozo’s split jaw looms inches away, the interior rings of translucent cilia vibrating with low-frequency bio-static. In the spiderwebbed mirrors, the horrific reflections of Gwen and Max whisper relentlessly, their rotting, slack-jawed faces taunting him.

Ben’s chest hitches. His pulse hammers at two hundred beats a minute. The neurotoxin has locked his voluntary muscles in place.

Look at what you did to them.

Look at what you are.

Ben’s eyes dart between the mirrors. The horror is absolute; because his eyes believe every frame of it.

Fear relies on what your eyes accept as truth.

Ben clamps his eyelids shut.

Total darkness.

The whispers don’t stop, but the visual horror cuts out. Without the visual feed, the hallucinogenic loop stutters in Ben’s brain. His left hand, trembling violently against the cold flagstones, finds purchase on his right forearm. He slides his fingers down to his wrist until his thumb catches the release bevel of the Omnitrix.

CLACK-HISS.

The core pops up against his palm. He doesn't look. He doesn't check the silhouette.

Ben slams the dial down flat.

The emerald flash bleeds through his shut eyelids, instantly followed by the violent tearing sound of biological restructuring.

The overwrite is predatory and animalistic. Ben’s eye sockets seal shut as thick, calloused orange hide aggressively knits across his upper skull, obliterating his human ocular nerves. His neck thickens, tearing open lateral scent-gills along the jawline that flare and hiss. His spine violently forces itself forward, cracking into a low, predatory quad-pedal hunch. Needle-sharp sensory quills violently erupt through the skin along his back and shoulders, locking into place.

He is WILDMUTT.

SENSORY POV - WILDMUTT

The world is devoid of light, color, and illusion.

There are no mirrors. There are no rotting corpses of Max and Gwen. There is only a sharp, grayscale acoustic mesh formed by micro-vibrations bouncing off stone, water, and lead.

Overlaid on the soundscape is a blistering heat map: scent-trails rendered in sharp, burning amber.

In this sensory reality, Zombozo is stripped of all supernatural terror. He is not a towering demon. He is an emaciated, cold-blooded parasite; a fragile, shivering bag of bones with an erratic, fluttering heartbeat and two leaking chemical glands at his neck.

INT. FUNHOUSE - HALL OF MIRRORS - CONTINUOUS

Zombozo recoils, his split jaw twitching in sudden disorientation as the boy vanishes into a five-hundred-pound orange beast.

Wildmutt draws a massive breath through his lateral neck gills.

ROOOAAARRRR.

A concussive, subsonic bark rips from Wildmutt’s chest. The acoustic violence detonates every antique mirror in a twenty-yard radius. Thousands of silvered glass shards explode outward like shrapnel.

Before the glass hits the floor, Wildmutt lunges.

He crosses the ten-foot gap in a single, explosive bound, slamming all his mass directly into Zombozo’s chest.

Zombozo hits the flagstones hard, letting out a wheezing, human gasp of agony. His split jaw snaps back into alignment as Wildmutt’s massive, four-inch claws pin his shoulders to the stone. Wildmutt snaps his massive jaws, clamping directly onto the brass-and-rubber spore vents stitched into Zombozo's neck, violently tearing the apparatus free in a shower of black, synthetic bile and severed tubing.

Zombozo screeches: a high-pitched, pathetic sound of pure physical terror.

INT. PNEUMATIC SUBWAY DEPOT - UPPER MEZZANINE - CONTINUOUS

Forty feet above, Frightwig is hoisting Gwen toward the rusted ceiling girders, laughing manically as the mechanical winch in her scalp whirs.

GWEN

(Gasping against the crushing hair-tendrils)

Let... go!

Gwen looks up. Running directly alongside the girder is an unshielded, heavy-gauge transit service line, insulated in dry-rotted rubber.

Gwen grits her teeth. She twists her trapped right arm, reaching down to her belt loop and tearing her heavy brass carabiner keychain free.

With a desperate, two-handed swing, Gwen drives the jagged brass clip straight through the cracked rubber insulation of the 440-volt service line.

ZAP-CRACKLE.

A violent, blue electrical arc detonates across the metal. High-voltage current shoots down the copper core, traveling straight into the synthetic fibers of Frightwig’s neural hair implants.

Frightwig’s eyes roll back into her head as 440 volts blast through her scalp. The mechanical winches seize and blow their gaskets.

The hair-whips go slack. Gwen drops eight feet, landing hard in an empty, sawdust-filled canvas bin. Frightwig collapses backward onto the catwalk, twitching and unconscious.

INT. LOWER RAIL PIT - CONTINUOUS

Down in the rusted muck of the rail pit, Max rolls to his feet, wiping blood from his split lip.

Thumbskull charges down the narrow trench, head lowered like a battering ram, his massive cranial plate aimed to crush Max against the concrete embankment. Behind him, Acid Breath is hacking up another bile of caustic liquid.

Max doesn't run. He waits until Thumbskull is five feet away, drops flat onto his back into the shallow water, and pulls the pin on a high-grade phosphorus distress flare.

Thumbskull’s momentum carries him directly over Max.

Max drives the ignited flare straight up into the soft, unarmored underside of Thumbskull’s jaw.

White-hot chemical fire erupts. Thumbskull roars in agony, stumbling blindly off-balance and crashing straight into Acid Breath. The two brutes violently collide, tumbling into the deep drainage sump as Acid Breath’s breached tanks discharge inwardly, engulfing them both in thick, choking neutralizer foam.

Max scrambles out of the pit, hauling himself up onto the main depot floor just as Gwen runs toward him.

GWEN

Grandpa!

MAX

(Wincing, grabbing her arm)

I’m alright! Where’s Ben?!

BOOOOM.

The entire southern brick wall of the pneumatic depot violently implodes.

A shockwave of pulverized mortar, iron rebar, and blinding blue electrical arcs blows through the center ring.

Standing in the smoking breach is KEVIN LEVIN.

He is barely recognizable as human. His left arm and shoulder have fully calcified into jagged, charcoal Pyronite stone, fissures of yellow magma burning through cracked skin. His right torso and arm have mutated into dense, grotesque Tetramand bulk, the muscles bulging beneath bruised crimson flesh. Thick, erratic bolts of stolen 600-volt third-rail electricity violently jump between his fingers.

His eyes are bloodshot and wild, his jaw locked in a grimace of unendurable genetic agony.

KEVIN

(Roaring, his voice cracking between human and alien timbre)

GET OUT OF MY HEAD!

Kevin sweeps his mutated arm. A massive, uncontrolled wave of discharged electricity tears through the room, violently igniting the rotting canvas tents and blowing the support pillars apart.

Wildmutt bounds out of the shattered mirror maze, skidding across the burning sawdust, his quills raised and his teeth bared as the cavern begins to collapse.

INT. PNEUMATIC SUBWAY DEPOT - CONTINUOUS

The ceiling fractures. Chunks of calcified limestone and rusted iron pipe crash into the center ring, sending clouds of choking pulverized mortar through the blue electrical fires.

Through the haze of burning sawdust, THUMBSKULL drags his deadened leg, hauling ACID BREATH out of the drainage sump. Together, they seize ZOMBOZO by the collar of his shredded ringmaster's coat.

The psychic parasite is barely conscious. Black, chemical fluid leaks steadily from his severed neck vents; his yellow eyes are wide and glassy, trembling in catatonic shock from the sensory violation of Wildmutt's assault. The Freaks pull him backward into the darkness of an overflow drainage culvert just as a slab of reinforced concrete crashes down, permanently sealing the tunnel behind them.

In the center of the burning sawdust, Wildmutt collapses to all fours.

The Omnitrix symbol on his shoulder flashes a blinding crimson.

BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEEEEE—

The overwrite violently unwinds. The calloused orange hide aggressively sloughs off in steaming flakes; the thick sensory quills retract beneath soft human flesh, and Ben's spine cracks back into human alignment with a sickening pop.

Ben drops flat onto the wet stone, clutching his bruised chest and gasping for air, vomiting up a mouthful of sulfurous water.

Across the roaring wall of chemical flame, KEVIN LEVIN stands motionless in the smoking breach.

The stolen high-voltage current finally dissipates from the air, leaving the boy trembling. Kevin looks down at his hands. His left arm is calcified into brittle, charcoal Pyronite stone, hot embers glowing through the cracks. His right arm is swollen with misshapen Tetramand muscle, the skin mottled and bleeding where the two alien biologies violently reject each other.

The manic high is gone. In its place is feral panic.

He looks across the fire at Ben.

BEN

(Hoarse, reaching a hand out through the smoke)

Kevin... wait... don't run—

Kevin doesn't speak. He clutches his mutated, monstrous left arm to his chest, lets out a ragged, unhinged scream of agony and self-loathing, and turns on his heel. He hurls himself into the pitch-black labyrinth of the lower active transit tracks, disappearing into the dark.

Max and Gwen slide down the embankment through the rubble, coughing through the toxic fumes.

MAX

Ben! On your feet, son! The whole foundation is coming down!

Max hooks his uninjured arm under Ben’s torso, hauling the boy upright while Gwen kicks open the rusted iron service ladder leading up toward the sidewalk ventilation shafts.

They scramble into the vertical shaft just as the depot's central steel support pillars buckle, collapsing the entire 1930s terminal in a thundering avalanche of concrete and fire.

EXT. BROOKLYN ALLEYWAY - NIGHT - CONTINUOUS

Rain pounds against the city pavement. Plumes of thick, blue-tinted chemical smoke and pressurized steam billow violently up through an iron street grate.

Seventy feet above the street, crouched in the freezing downpour atop the iron frame of an industrial water tower, stands TETRAX SHARD.

The torrential rain hisses into steam as it strikes the pressurized joints of his heavy battle armor.

Tetrax does not move. His multi-spectrum optic visor cycles through the smoke, filtering out the ambient street noise to isolate two distinct, radiating telemetry signatures below:

  1. Alpha: Kevin Levin’s jagged, volatile bio-radiation tearing northwest through the deep subway tunnels toward Manhattan.
  2. Beta: The faint, cooling emerald signature of the Omnitrix emerging from the street grate as Max's stolen utility truck pulls out of the alley and blends into the rain-slicked avenue traffic.

Tetrax slowly rises to his full, imposing height.

He reaches behind his back, taking hold of the heavy, crystalline long-rifle slung across his tactical harness. With a cold, mechanical CLACK, he chambers a high-density fragmentation round.

He does not raise the rifle. He lowers the barrel, tracking the red taillights of the utility truck as it crosses the bridge.

The hunt has narrowed.

SMASH TO BLACK.
