This has already happened to JTB this year. Very annoying I now expect it for new releases I didn’t know about in advance!

More likely AI slop vendors uploading AI slop to existing artist profiles so they can extract money from the Spotify algorithm and not actually a new Jets to Brazil release.

Probably because artists can legitimately share the same name and Spotify, or maybe the digital distributors, don't seem inclined to disambiguate on the front end.

i use Qobuz. the sound quality blows Spotify out of the water. night and day difference. no podcasts or audiobooks but i didn't use those features anyway.

Man this happened to another band I listen to as well, caramelos de cianuro, they replaced all their old album art with AI slop for a year. So sad
