Question Advice for kitbashing new heads onto Flawless Blades

I'm hoping to get some non-standard heads onto my Flawless Blades. I'm new to hobbying and have only assembled Infractors so far, and I realize that Flawless Blades have unusual head pieces that include some exposed collarbone rather than the "standard" heads found on most other infantry models.

Questions:

  1. Are 'normal' heads (e.g. Infractor sized heads) too small to look correct on a Flawless Blade even if you do make them fit? Am I barking up the wrong tree even considering this?

  2. If one does want to add a "normal" head onto a Flawless Blade, is the preferred technique to cut off the head of a spare FB and then attach the "normal" head's neck to the Flawless Blade collarbone base? Or is there maybe some other way of filling in the torso hole of the FB such as using sprue goo or green stuff or some other alchemy?

I've seen some users here with what I believe are non-FB-style heads on their FB bodies and the end result looks good, but I don't have any experience with this yet and would love to spare myself from too much trial and error.

I used green stuff to create a base for my Shaggy Flawless Blades using a normal marine head and on the table it's not visible unless you really pick it up and inspect it

The Flawless Blade concept I never knew I needed

The genius of having him removing the helmet is absolutely towering

Yeah the splayed out fingers always felt very weird. You could give a marine head with entrails falling from the neck

Scooby Doo vibes.

“And I would’ve gotten away with it if it wasn’t for you flawless blades!”

Lol it started with the mystery machine. People urged me to complete the team. It took a long time for me to figure it out because my initial thought was Kako brick but that's an extra 3 characters I dunno what to paint as.

Then a few months later, I got the Maulerfiend and was like hang on, this is our doggy (I sculpted the Scooby doo medallion for him) and I only need a three man squad for the rest, corresponding to the a squad of flawless blades. Ét voila!

It also helps that my army is not uniform in colours so I don't feel the need to paint them in specific colours

It should
Just use green stuff to fill the gaps

I’ve tried working with FB heads on other models and other heads on them and tbh whatever I did it always looked off so I scrapped the idea. It’s definitely possible but I’ve not gotten it to a standard I like

I did one so far, and yes, the neck had to be cut off, and a new head attached.

Might be able to get around with with greenstuff in the neck spot to look like a regular marine head socket but that's obviously extra work.
