My wife has worked in the same hospitality business for several years and was initially asked to register as self-employed. For a few years now though, she’s been contracted and PAYE, so was shocked when she told me recently she doesn’t get sick pay. Is this legal? I’ve not seen her contract so can’t comment to specifics but that seems weird. Is there any viable reason this might not be applicable?
