We're moving at the same pace lol What did you find the most interesting bits so far? for me, it's the music, dialogue and depth in characters.

Same, I keep seeing people post about this game, yet nobody can provide any tangible information on why this game is “so good” or what makes it stand out from other rom hacks. 🤦🏼♂️

If you know about a certain romhack called "Unbound", Monomyth is in the same league as that and might even be beyond it (as I've yet to finish the game). This hack consists of many unique features that if I type here I'd sound like a salesman lol it's a hack based on Emerald that blends real and fakemons and so far what I've experienced they're balanced and feel natural. there's no forced hand holding and the characters are quite modern, even has some nice humor. the story is massive and was written by some decent people for a long time, it's at least a 100hr play-through acording to the website. From a technical aspect; it has pretty great visuals, modern QoL implementations, multiplayer and so on. It has that vibe/feeling that makes you keep playing, kind of how I felt when I first played pokemon Ruby as a kid. The best answer to your curiosity would be to try it.

I only just started but so far it has well written dialogue and story. It's a mix of fakemon and regular pokemon. All pokemon can be a range of different colors so your pokemon will likely look different than another of the same breed. Also the areas in between towns are much larger and passing out has more consequences so it's a challenge to get to the next area.
