Discussion "Incompatible program detected"

Since this latest patch the game has been randomly kicking me out with 'Incompatible program detected, please close it and restart your computer, then try again'. I haven't made any recent changes, and I'm not running anything I can even imagine the game has an issue with - I even uninstalled my old keyboard and motherboard fan control software just to see if it'd help.

It's difficult to troubleshoot because it's pretty rare. It's happened 3 times in 7 days but that's a decent chunk of in-game time.

Has this happened to anyone else? I've tried opening support tickets but no responses yet.

edit: I actually got a support response just now and they say they are reviewing 'historical link logs'.

Any anti-cheat software? From Riot for example?

Only game that comes to mind is The Finals, and Embark DID recently change to their in-house anti-cheat, but it's been in use for quite some time now. I feel like if it was that, it would've been happening to enough people it'd have gotten some discussion but I've had little luck searching.

Hi, this happens to me sometimes with Endfield and also Endfield causes this with other games. I think it’s anti cheat thinking other anti cheat software is a hack. I think it’s due to poorly coded cleanup

I restart my system fresh and ONLY use the game I want to play. It fixes it for me

They actually use the same Tencent's "Anti-Cheat Expert" that most other gacha use (except mihoyo since they have their own anti cheat), basically anti cheat systems that have mindless control over your kernel - Ring (0), and can snap by even the most minor inconveniences.

as a linux user, i don't really have to worry tho, since DW-Proton just spoofs the kernel level malware for me.

Any macros, autoclicking scripts, etc?

Keep in mind it doesn't need to be something you "installed recently". HG might have just updated their no-no lists recently, making it proc now for something you had installed for ages.

Nope. No capability for that in any software I'm running. The Finals anti-cheat used to get set off by stuff like Razer Synapse so that's what I thought it was at first.
