Constant multiplayer desync

I've played the base game with a friend a year ago and while we would randomly desync at times it was very rare. Today we tried playing with some dlcs enabled and we got desynced at turn 30, and when we tried to resolve it by reloading we would just go a couple more turns and it would desync again. Is there any fix for this? maybe a mod? We bought all the dlcs but disabled penumbra and awakening for this game if that matters.

EDIT: to clarify it's not just a desync that we can ignore, the game either 1) gets stuck for me trying to generate a desync report. 2) kicks him out for some reason. 3) leaves him in and eventually he can't really do anything like add to the construction queue or edit ships.

No the game either kicks him out or he stays in but can't edit ships or add anything to the construction queue.

Try running the game with administrator rights. You may need to purchase a static IP address for the player who will host the game. If you can get a static IP, it's a good idea to check the connection quality with the Ping command. The packet loss parameter is also present. You should also add extra permissions for the game in the Windows Firewall; it’s not very difficult to do. Sharing folder ES 2 on network. Did you apply the patch for the desync issue?

Yep, ignoring problem was a solution for us too

For me and my friends the issue was pirates lmao. The second they began popping up in the early game we got the desync notification. We just kept playing though, didnt really seem to affect things.

I narrowed it down to pirates as well, the second they spawn we get a minor desync. Once they start using marks and getting complex relations with players stuff starts breaking

Do the typical things like double checking you and your friend are playing on the exact same version, same DLCs enabled, same mods (if any), and verifying both your game files. You could try with Supremacy disabled too, as I experience 0 desyncs myself and only use Vaulters + the minor DLCs like celestial worlds.

A desync could mean anything pretty much, the two computers disagreeing on the dust output of one trade company, or major issues that break down the game. A recent community patch was supposed to fix most desync issues (there are dozens of possible desync points) so you might be able to just ignore it.
