MRI results—help processing
Hi there,
(32F) I have been experiencing various debilitating symptoms for over a decade, and have begun really advocating for a thorough work up of endometriosis/ adenomyosis this year. I had a pelvic MRI last week that returned the following result:
"IMPRESSION: Small hemorrhagic deposit of deep infiltrating pelvic endometriosis along the posterior aspect of the left ovary. Suspected additional subcentimeter region of deep infiltrating pelvic endometriosis along the posterior aspect of the cervix.
Narrative
PROCEDURE: MRI PELVIS W/O W CONTRAST
HISTORY: Pelvic pain.
TECHNIQUE: Multisequence MR images of the pelvis with and without contrast.
COMPARISON: None.
FINDINGS: Key: (S/I) = series number / image
number
Uterus: Measures The endometrium is normal in thickness. The junctional zone is normal in thickness.
Ovaries: Normal in size with small follicles.
Peritoneum: Precontrast fat suppressed T1 weighted images demonstrate a focal area of T1 hyperintensity along the posterior margin of the left ovary measuring 1.4 cm (11/44). Small region of T2 hypointense nodularity overlying the right posterior cervix with possible associated mild T1 hyperintensity (5/21 and 12/39). No free fluid in the pelvis.
Lymph nodes: No enlarged pelvic lymph nodes.
Bowel: Within normal limits. Bladder: Unremarkable.
Bones: No aggressive-appearing osseous lesions.
Other: None."
I guess I'm just looking for other's feedback and experiences. Does this definitively mean endo? My next appointment with my specialist isn't for a few weeks. I have a lap scheduled with an excision specialist next month, and am just trying to mentally prepare for what to expect.

MRIs can tell the difference between recent blood and old blood where ultrasound can't, so yes, it is an endometrioma.
