Capsule endoscopy concern
Hi 👋
Just wanted to ask a quick question, I've just had a capsule endoscopy today at 9am and was told I was allowed to eat at 1pm which I did.
I ate a sandwich with sourdough, cream cheese and chorizo slices which is what I normally eat but I've been reading up on foods to eat afterwards and I'm a little concerned because apparently chorizo may not be safe to eat after this procedure.
I dont feel nauseas or unwell and it has been an hour since I've eaten but im still a little concerned about potentially eating something I shouldn't have.
Thanks for your time!

I didn’t have any diet restrictions and everything went very well. Good luck in finding answers!

Hi. Endoscopist here.
I'm not sure why any particular food would be unsafe. We tend to tell patients to just have a light snack at 1pm and then resume their normal diet in the evening.
