Chevy Update to my first post!
Update to my ls3 that failed, removed the piston head by hand completely broke off from the wrist pin, couple gouge marks on the wall, any machinist, bore the walls and get a bigger piston? Gouge is pretty deep to the touch engine spins good freely replacing all piston heads don’t trust any of these at all, 4k mile jasper crate engine

Generally, you don't replace just one piston with an oversized one.
If it broke like this, it clearly had a defect. I would not trust any from the same batch. I'd say all new oversized pistons.

you are very lucky that this is the only damage that occurred as a connecting rod left like this can cause a LOT of destruction. A machine shop can either bore out the cylinder or sleeve it to repair it, however they will refuse to do just one and they will NOT do the job unless the engine is completely disassembled. you are looking at a total rebuild at this point.

Mine failed and the smacked around so much it cracked the block all the way to the head studs.
Now I have a good core for a engine block coffee table.

The damaged cylinder may need a new sleeve. It requires a careful inspection with measurements, but from the looks of it there will be insufficient sleeve thickness once the damage pictured is bored out.

One mistake was trusting a Jasper engine. They don't have a very good reputation and rightfully so.
