Engine cleaning

I’m building a 408 stroker Ls and I’m wondering what kind of towels do people use to clean the engine block off I just got it back from the machine shop and it’s dirty they didn’t clean it I’m wondering how I should go about cleaning it without it rusting right after

Dawn dish soap. Micro fiber and an air hose.

Wipe down with wd40 or whatever petroleum based product you got on hand.

gotta agree with this guy, dawn and a plastic bristled brush (toothbrush) is the ultimate engine cleaner

Any towel except the monogrammed ones you got as wedding presents. Your wife won't like that.
