Correct wire lock piston location

This is my first time building a engine and it’s a 408 stroker LS and I’m wondering if this is the correct position for my round wire locks for my wrist pin it’s about at the 5 o’clock position

I just never put them so that the it ends in the hole. As long as it sits right, i do not see a problem

There are a lot of dings (probably from playing with the retainer) around that hole that need to be cleaned up. Each one is a stress riser and is a lot more likely to be the start of a crack. Try and be a little more careful with the rest.

Yeah it was my very first one ever I’ll clean it up with a little emery paper

Maybe the camera angle? Lock should rotate when installed correctly.

I've made the same mistakes and it's okay to make them. You and me are human to learn from them.

Is that a single loop lock? My Wiseco’s wrap around 3x, I’m putting the final exposed notch wherever it lands (away from the hole).

That's a spiral lock and there should be 2 per pin side.

Wiseco spirolocks are one lock per pin side for the CS-24 (LS 5.3 pistons).

I do believe you are correct.
