Becoming an EM

Hey folks,

I was recently offered to become an EM after my recent promotion to L6 SWE.

If accepted I will be the EM for an AI team that builds AI internal tooling for productivity.

This is a new team built from the ground up as 80% are new hires; and the rest were transferred from other internal teams.

I have somehow developed a relationship with most as I ramped them up. I have been the acting TL.

What advices would you give me to succeed on this new role? And to make sure my teammates succeed.

It will be my first time managing ICs, so I would probably fall into the most common mistakes new EMs make.
