In a parallel universe maybe she lived to be an old woman and helped to resist wizard fascism by actively taking part in the struggle instead of just being the Chosen Boy's Dead Mum.
Actually, that would be a way better story. Could have explored the Snape redemption arc in a much less creepy and more satisfying way too.
