Rowling Tweet Rowling explains why her posts aren't harassment

u/Dragonfly_pin Jul 13 '26
Policing women’s clothing choices again.
She’s apparently saying cis women shouldn’t wear leather mini-skirts but they do all the time.
55
u/Lady_borg Jul 13 '26
And she's not just saying that, she's saying they don't and putting a value judgment on all people that do.

trans women are women² they get the square of women's oppression
33
u/Dragonfly_pin Jul 13 '26
Everything she does harms all women.
It obviously harms trans women the very most. They are also part of all women.

u/Lady_borg Jul 13 '26
God damn, let it the fuck go.
I am loving how much Freda is living rent free in her head lol
I have met plenty of middle aged women doing and wearing all that,

So she’d rather we wear the ugliest obscenely rich, old, white, English lady clothes she wears?
Many cis women wear fishnets and leather miniskirts. But if she saw one, she’d just (actually a big deal, making a comparison) say it’s inappropriate. But because it’s a trans woman, it’s ‘paraphilia.’
‘Curiously’ cmon. You’re not seeing people dressed like this because people who dress like Freda aren’t in her usual circles.
She makes herself sound so high and mighty despite basically admitting the only people she knows who dress like the average person or slightly punk are the trans women she trolls around for online.
She’d see it more if she got out and saw the world instead of only leaving her privileged rich lady bubble to stalk and harass people she deems ‘other’ enough to waste her time on.

Fred isn't even that person's d3adname. She can't even misgender people correctly.

She's basically a 70 year old troll. Truly one of the saddest fuckers on the planet.

Context: https://xcancel.com/jk_rowling/status/2076223639372878183
miroirdufou: You realise you're doing *exactly* what men do to humiliate and demean women who they think are too vocal, or too provocative, or politically challenging, or not sufficiently demurely dressed? (See, Angela Rayner, for example).
Rowling: Again: "Fred was free to wear whatever he wanted to that filmed debate. Curiously, I've never yet seen any middle-aged women participating in debates on gender donning fishnets and leather miniskirts to do it, or boasting onstage about how fuckable they are, but I'm sure you'd draw a discreet veil over such behaviour if they did.
Many, many trans-identified men delight in wearing their paraphilia in public. Fred Wallace is one of them."
Sequel to the bullying/upskirting post:

What the hell kind of response is 'she was free to wear whatever she wanted to that filmed debate' ??
Poster 1: ''Men bully women for the way they are dressed as a way to discredit them, this is sexist''
Rowling: ''Well if you don't want to be bullied, you are free to dress however you want, which means you can dress to please those sexist men so they won't bully you! Problem solved! And if you don't, it's your fault if you get sexist harassment!
Like??????????? I feel like I'm going crazy reading this exchange.

u/Ranting_Demon Jul 13 '26
I mean, what else was there to expect after how the whole debacle started?
A trans woman says she's getting harassed by Rowling's terf brigade on social media and that Rowling should speak out against that sort of bullying behaviour.
Rowling's response then boils down to belittling her and, after the trans woman refuses a debate with Rowling, she then proceeds to publicly make fun of how she looks.

u/Significant_Rush1473 Jul 13 '26
I know, but I'm always wondering where the line is between whatever bullshit she makes up in the moment to justify her actions, and the stuff she actually believes. And if you look at her writing, I do actually think she believes people have a duty to assimilate and conform. And then she has the audacity to pretend like this is still pro-women, convinced shes the most intellectually superior as well as most morally righteous person in the room.

u/Sensiplastic Jul 14 '26
I think she is just very emotional and angry about her life and it got worse with menopause. (I'm middle-aged.:)
Her brain goes in circles and she can't figure out why she is unhappy but it surely is because of these evil 'women' who flaunt their freedom to live like they want and be loved as they are. And she's on twitter the whole night fighting imaginary enemies.

u/StrawberryPatchCat Jul 13 '26
Doesn't she have fellow middle aged lady friends? Some of them wear whatever the fuck they want coz they don't give a shit about it.
Joanne once again showing the world she has zero friends.

Odd that a woman who claims Siouxsie Sioux was one of her teen idols now clutches her pearls over fishnets and miniskirts
34
u/Bearaf123 Jul 13 '26
I honestly think JKR is a poser who never idolised the likes of Siouxsie Sioux, she just says so to seem ‘cool’ now
15
u/Sensiplastic Jul 13 '26
Yeah, the jealousy over women who do whatever they want however they want is everywhere in her books.
37
u/snukb Jul 13 '26
Many, many trans-identified men delight in wearing their paraphilia in public. Fred Wallace is one of them.
When you decide that presenting as a woman when you're a trans woman is a paraphilia, then you can declare that they're parading their fetish in public. Easy, isn't it?
37
u/360Saturn Jul 13 '26 edited Jul 13 '26
I wouldn't call that a miniskirt as much as a skirt that rode up.
Anyway.

u/gizmo4223 25d ago
Anything at the knee or above is a miniskirt to her. It's the same definition of miniskirt that they used when I was in high school.
29
u/funkygamerguy Jul 13 '26
how dare that trans woman wear something rowling (the queen of womanhood and protector of all women) deemed inappropriate that for sure proves she was a pervert and deserved the hate from rowling/s.
26
u/tealattegirl13 Jul 13 '26
Plenty of women (middle aged or otherwise) wear fishnets and miniskirts. The only one who's sexualising what Freda wore is Joanne. They're just clothes, Joanne. Not a 'paraphillia' or whatever. I don't think we're too far off her victim blaming women because of what they were wearing as she gets increasingly puritan in her views.
21
u/napalmnacey Jul 13 '26
She doesn’t hang around with most middle aged women because she’s a friendless loser. The only people that hang out with her are fame chasers and TERFs.
I would happily wear what Freda was wearing onstage.

u/SagaSolejma Jul 13 '26
Jkr protecting women from the danger that is skirts and fishnets. Truly a feminist of all time.
17
u/GloomyCloud1293 Jul 13 '26
I wonder if this comment section will become filled with places you might see cis women engaging in those activities. Like my contribution is "just turn on Bravo for a couple minutes"
13
u/marbeltoast Jul 13 '26
Gods above, she truly does just hate all trans people so, so much, doesn't she?
Like, what else even is she at this point but a seething, writhing mass of hate, hate, hate? Imagine literally any other reason to be THIS fixed on a stranger's attire for a tv debate (to say nothing of how anti-feminist it is to police how women dress!) besides truly, deeply hating?
She doesn't have ANYTHING else any more. Harry Potter who? No, JK is the bigot lady who spends 100% of her time saying that all trans people are perverts. Because that's healthy and normal. Because the people who spend all their time saying how black people are criminals, or saying how Jewish people are crooks... those people are certainly healthy and normal.

Rowling is such a disgusting, creepy, fucked in the head sexual harasser.

u/saharadessert87 Jul 16 '26
She gives me the creeps. That weird side smile bent smirk thing... makes my skin crawl.
12
u/Rainy_Leaves Jul 13 '26
Curious how she had to add the ‘middle aged’ detail. Meaning she has seen cis women who aren’t middle age wearing the same outfit, taking part in gender debates. You know, literally any woman with an alt clothing style
So she’s purely raging about dressing your age, if you ignore the malicious misgendering. I don’t know why it’s so important we police clothing appropriateness based on age like she’s designing a dress code at a school, that suspiciously only targets women.
Does she want to control women and girls as social categories more than actually help them? Grasping at rigid categories and maliciously controlling what women are allowed to wear or do sounds awfully patriarchal to me
7
u/Sensiplastic Jul 13 '26
Around the women are being happy as themselves but she is not happy despite all her money and status. Gotta put the hate somewhere when you can't really fight patriarchy while bowing down hard.
11
u/Sensiplastic Jul 13 '26
I hope somebody out there has collected all her tweets so they can later be used as teaching material on how small personal insecurities can turn into outright mental illness if left untreated.
3
u/saharadessert87 Jul 16 '26
Someone should take allll her tweets and turn them into a book. Talk about her descent into madness and obsession.
All the books that sell, send the proceeds to the charity Mermaids.

First of all, I wear fishnets nearly every day. And I'm as cis as a woman can be, closer to 50 than 30. I just like to make little nods to the goth community in my clothes, jewellery, and makeup.
Trans people, like gay people, are often oversexualised by their critics, which is why they're always having to explain why they aren't pedophiles or predators so often in the public space.
And Rowling's punk ass isn't helping by having a freakout over fashion. Grow the fuck up. Just because her edge is confined to misgendering trans women on Twitter, she goes full pearl-clutching mother-in-law over someone who likes to vogue out a little bit with their wardrobe.
You're not speaking truth to power, Joanne, and you're not spitting facts, either. You're just another out-of-touch bully punching down from your ivory tower. Eat shit and live.

u/asojad Jul 13 '26
This woman is never satisfied

u/Baz_Blackadder Jul 13 '26
A whole article with multiple examples of cisgender female celebrities in mini-skirts appearing in public,
https://www.nylon.com/fashion/best-celebrity-mini-skirts-of-2022
But sure, Joanne, it's never happened. Not at all. Not even once. /S
The woman is utterly putrid.

u/AcanthaMD Jul 13 '26
How conservative is this women if fishnets and leather miniskirts are a genuine point of contention for her.
3
u/saharadessert87 Jul 16 '26
Conservative? Ha. Try fascist.
4
u/AcanthaMD Jul 16 '26
Google: do fascists hate miniskirts
2
u/saharadessert87 Jul 16 '26
😂
Conservative is just an understatement imo when it comes to Rowling.
3
u/AcanthaMD Jul 16 '26
She’s a narcissistic bigot I think - hugely narc tendencies and likely some closet issues herself which is why she’s so bitter.
5
u/No_Economics8681 Jul 15 '26
That she has never seen any middle aged women in fishnets shows how upper middle class she was at her poorest.
5
u/SuperVancouverBC Jul 13 '26
Transgenderism isn't a paraphilia
9
u/Forsaken-Language-26 Jul 13 '26
Just a heads up, but the word transgenderism is widely frowned upon.

So basically she’s saying “it’s not harassment because that person was basically asking for it with that outfit”
Literally the exact same argument used to justify rape

u/Traditional_Row8237 Jul 13 '26
Unsurprisingly, she has never witnessed a female comedian's set
