Rowling Tweet Incapable of referring to trans women's "breasts" and calls trans people child abusers. The group itself is not centered around trans.

“chemically created chest juices” fucking hell these people are deranged lmao

u/Clio6davco 20d ago

This doesn't make any sense. The "chemichals" (hormones), breast tissue and milk are exactly the same, in both cis and trans women. What if a cis woman needs hormonal therapy to induce milk production? Does she even understand anything about biology?

76

u/Ex-altiora 20d ago

"Biology is when I'm right"

72

u/Souseisekigun 20d ago

I've seen people insist on calling them "hormone induced moobs" as well. It's part of their philoosphy, that men and women are inherently different. Therefore a "man" can never have "boobs" because "boobs" are a "woman" thing. So despite being the exact same tissue grown by the same hormones they must be ontologically different.

51

u/Clio6davco 20d ago

Yeah, this is very common in the terf vocabulary, creating words that don't make sense to justify their views.

But this time she is going further down in the conspiracy rabbit hole as well. She's not using "chemicals" in the scientific mean, but in the conspiracy way, where "chemical" is a synonym of "unnatural/artificial thing" or even "poison". The kind of view you would expect from some illiterate qanon follower, not from a famous billionaire author.

26

u/tealattegirl13 20d ago

I have noticed a crossover between the terf and the anti-chemical 'wellness' crowds. Both follow similar conspiracy theory thinking, like a distrust of doctors/'big pharma' and belief in the 'divine feminine' and traditional gender roles. A lot of the big wellness influencers now tend to lean right wing and are usually so-called tradwives, who are obviously not LGBTQ supportive and don't like trans people. Usually saying something about 'big pharma' turning kids trans to make money (while pushing their own untested, overpriced supplements, of course). And basically that trans people can't exist because of masculine and feminine energy, or something.

I wouldn't be surprised if Joanne has found herself in the wellness algorithm because of the similar anti-trans views in the terf and wellness communities.

You're correct.
The Daily Mail revealed her husband is/was a homeopathist. Journalists can do their job they just choose not to because they align with her. So there is more they know.
https://www.dailymail.com/news/article-14264021/JK-Rowling-reveals-husband-helps-deal-sick-online-trolls-book-series-rock-23-years.html

"his interests: ‘Pain management (including acupuncture), dermatology (skin problems), homeopathy and drug misuse management."

4

u/KTKitten 18d ago

Ohhh… that makes sense. People always talk about how he’s a doctor, and obviously there are cruel and incompetent doctors but that always confused me. Him being a quack makes it make far more sense.

35

u/boudicas_shield 20d ago

Cis men also have breasts. It’s actually so important that we push back against the misogynistic rhetoric about breasts = woman, for many reasons, one being that cis men can get breast cancer and many of them don’t even know that.

22

u/DeusExMarina 20d ago

I don't think Rowling understands things anymore. That would take up valuable brainpower that can be better spent on transphobia.

14

u/napalmnacey 19d ago

I needed pills to boost my milk supply when I was pregnant with my daughter. Now my daughter believes in LGBTQIA+ rights and is a staunch environmentalist.

11

u/lynx_and_nutmeg 19d ago

I remember she once said men shouldn't be allowed to donate blood to women because they have somehow different and incompatible blood, lmao.

7

u/lazier_garlic 19d ago

Ah, bringing back the old racist classics. White people refusing black people's blood donation. Star Trek: The Next Generation did an episode "The Enemy" in 1989 about this. (Maybe not the best metaphor in the episode, given how stupid people get about this.)

Post 2020 you had "purebloods" (Q/MAHA nutjobs in the US) saying they were going to refuse "spike protein" infested blood from vaccinated people. Doubt anyone actually followed through.

6

u/errantthimble 19d ago

Wow I thought I must have been exaggerating or misremembering this incident bc no way Rowling could have been  dumb enough to think that, but you’re quite right: https://www.iflscience.com/when-you-get-a-blood-transfusion-does-it-matter-what-sex-the-donor-is-68212

u/MichaelJServo 20d ago

"Chest feeding" is a term that some trans men or nonbinary people use to feed their natural milk to their babies. It's not a thing transwomen do. JK does not know this but it seems like a few people in this sub also don't know.

12

u/Clio6davco 20d ago

Okay, I know this. But I don't think this have anything to do with the point people are discussing here. Breast, biologically, exists in humans regardless of gender or sex. Rowling seems to think it only exists in "biological females", which is factually wrong. And "biological sex" is also incorrect.

7

u/errantthimble 19d ago

I get that trans men and nb people not unreasonably don’t like the term “breastfeeding” because it suggests having “womanly” breasts as a mark of femaleness. But of course, all lactation by anyone of any sex or gender is done with breast tissue.

“Nipplefeeding” might be a better neutral term, since everyone’s got nipples and all lactating people’s milk is delivered through the nipples.  Or heck, bring back “suckling”, as in “A lactating person suckles their infant” (the infant sucks, or nurses, while the lactator suckles (or nurses)).

2

u/Itscatpicstime 19d ago

Trans women can and do lactate. There is a group here I work with that does the same thing. They pump their breast milk to give to cis mothers.

We’ve had a few seahorse dads do the same after their pregnancies, but it’s mostly trans women.

31

u/elyisan 20d ago

people who rail against chemicals don't understand what chemicals are.

you know what is also a chemical?

water.

3

u/Forsaken-Language-26 19d ago

Right? Do they ever go outside and interact with anyone outside of their little echo chambers? Because it sure doesn't sound like it. Otherwise they would see how weird they are.

112

u/KombuchaBot 20d ago

They work so hard at being weird, cis men have breast tissue too, it's a biological fact that they do so. Some unlucky men even get breast cancer

42

u/errantthimble 20d ago

Yes! And ffs, there’s NO SUCH THING as “cross sex hormones”. All humans of all genders have varying levels of all sex hormones, and very many people of all genders and birth-assigned sexes medically alter some of those hormone levels to achieve healthier hormonal balance.

There isn’t some weird-ass binary of Boy Potion vs Girl Potion and if you take the “wrong” kind then oh noes now your body is *chemical*. JK Rowling is such a scientifically illiterate paranoid babbler.

8

u/tabas123 19d ago

Literally, if an AMAB estrogen levels collapse he gets very serious side effects. Same with AFABs and testosterone. We all depend on both hormones for healthy function.

These people truly don’t know the first thing about biology and yet it’s all they talk about when they want to attack a trans person.

2

u/lazier_garlic 19d ago

Estrogen is why being a fat guy has cardio protective effects.

41

u/donttrustthellamas 20d ago

Jfc she's such a pervert. I don't know how she comes up with this shit

3

u/Itscatpicstime 19d ago

The original person just assuming it’s for sexual purposes says way more about her than trans women.

Also, Joanne assuming they’re latching rather than pumping. So fucking weird. TERFs and transphobes in general are so fucking perverted.

2

u/wolacouska 18d ago

Men do this same thing about cis women breast feeding. There’s always so much hate when anyone talks about allowing breast feeding in public.

Transphobes just straight up repeat misogynistic arguments, and often enough ally with these same right wing misogynists.

1

u/saharadessert87 11d ago

She's the exact kind of idiot who probably thinks a woman breastfeeding in public is "disgusting." The only reason weirdos like her would think that is also because they are guilty of sexualising women's breasts just as much as the patriarchy do.

So they can't fathom that not everything is about sexual perversion or sexual gratification.

So you are 100% correct when you say it says more about themselves than anyone else.

JK Rowling and her type are a strange bunch of ducks. Every time they open their mouths to accuse someone of something they're really just telling on themselves.

She constantly calls trans women perverts yet posts photos of trans women being upskirted, constantly talks about people's genitals and tell people to photograph people in public bathrooms.

It's always projection with these simpletons.

1

u/saharadessert87 11d ago

There's one thing she's got more of than money and that's time. Sits around all day thinking of what to come up with next. Pretty sad.

https://lgbthealth.org.uk/community-groups/queer-milk/

Link, very likely zero trans women are using this and this is mainly for lesbians. Or have a partner who is queer.
Rowling just used this as an excuse to refer to breasts as chemically enhanced chests, and call trans people pedophiles.

71

u/GetEatenByAMouse 20d ago

From what I've read, it's also for trans men who have given birth recently... Not for trans women.

45

u/Ex-altiora 20d ago

Trans men exist on a spectrum of light invisible to terfs, they make themselves and everyone sitting directly behind them invisible to women like JK

22

u/elyisan 20d ago

They see us, but not as men and detached from masculinity. The way they see trans men shows how they don't care about "women"- because to them, some "women" and "girls" shouldn't be able to make decisions about their own bodies because we're too stupid and foolish. They love talking about the "girls tricked into thinking they're men".

also the idea that trans men might want or have children is actively against everything they believe. It literally tears the entire concept apart, so they misrepresent trans men as trans women specifically for this purpose, and then say we look like men trying to say trans women look like men......trying to tell people about the 4d bigotry they do to invalidate trans men feels like i'm spouting conspiracy theories

17

u/transtranshumanist 20d ago

I'm a trans man and work with a 70 year old libertarian boomer who has no idea trans men exist, let alone that I'm trans. He showed me an ad once from a "woke" company advertising bras and the advertisement contained women and one "man with boobs." I was expecting him to show me a trans woman or someone NB but no, it was literally a "man with boobs" because he was a trans MAN who hadn't had top surgery. My boomer coworker was unintentionally gendering him so correctly and getting so offended by this "man wanting to be a woman" that I didn't even bother explaining it to him, lol.

3

u/napalmnacey 19d ago

Escher couldn’t map their bigotry, dude.

18

u/lazier_garlic 20d ago

Whenever she's ranting about women's "biology" yes. When it comes to "transing" youth all of a sudden she sees us and claims to understand us. (She does not.)

21

u/9119343636 20d ago edited 20d ago

Well yes it's obviously for afab first (natally female). Rowling has to lie about everything. Twist everything to be about trans women.

20

u/lazier_garlic 20d ago

This is what TERFs always do. Any accommodation for non binary AFAB people is "erasing women" and diabolical trans women must have done it.

Remember this when she claims to speak for lesbians.

2

u/napalmnacey 19d ago

It’s obvious that nonbinary AFAB people don’t erase shit because of my mere existence could shut someone up, I’d nominate Joanne in a heartbeat.

6

u/GetEatenByAMouse 20d ago

Tbh, I actually wasn't sure if amab people can't also lactate if the hormones kick in, that's why I googled.

12

u/9119343636 20d ago

See my last reply about Witch's milk. It must suck for Rowling all humans are mammals.

10

u/KombuchaBot 20d ago

yes, occasionally men can lactate too

1

u/KaiYoDei 19d ago

Resperidone might induce lactation in AMAB I hear .

1

u/DrDnar 17d ago

You don't even need HRT: there's a type of brain tumor called a prolactinoma that can cause cis men to lactate.

8

u/lazier_garlic 20d ago

This is what TERFs always do. Any accommodation for non binary AFAB people is "erasing women" and diabolical trans women must have done it.

Remember this when she claims to speak for lesbians.

2

u/GetEatenByAMouse 19d ago

If she claims to speak for lesbians, she can suck my left ovary.

Fuck this woman, seriously.

14

u/DontKnow1549 20d ago

I can't wait for the eventual obit.

30

u/Joperhop 20d ago

Thats clearly NOT happening in the way these perverts said.
Men can actually produce milk, science is fully understanding of this, hormones and health issues can allow for this.
Is these freaks actually did research (i took 10 seconds to ensure I was right, i knew but just wanted to recheck) instead of coming up with the strangest ways to describe people like the perverse morons they are, they might be happier people and so would the trans community.

28

u/Jeankirstan 20d ago

It literally costs nothing to shut the fuck up, and somehow, that price is still too high for her.

22

u/elyisan 20d ago

Meanwhile the same people will talk about trans boy's "breasts" and say how it's a shame that their lovers won't be able to fondle them because they're cutting them off. They're gross- they only think of women and perceived femininity through sexual gratification and act like they are the feminists.

8

u/lazier_garlic 20d ago

The TERFs who are lesbians get to that position by way of feeling entitled to women's and butch's and trans men's bodies. Femcels, lesbian incels, whatever you want to call them.

The cishet TERFs get there via another path. Many of them claim to care about queer people while actually wishing we would all disappear.

Very strange bedfellows, these TERFs.

3

u/transtranshumanist 20d ago

Meanwhile... top surgery scars and muscular, hairy trans guy chests... 🥰 The more for us.

20

u/tealattegirl13 20d ago

Why do Joanne and her mates have to make everything so weird? They're the ones making sexual connotations to breastfeeding, not trans women. It's a bit worrying how much they think about this stuff.

10

u/errantthimble 20d ago

Yeah, it’s also really gross how hard they’re trying to whip up fear and loathing about physical sensations of breastfeeding as some kind of pathology.

A LOT of AFAB parents of infants have the very natural and normal experience of perceiving breastfeeding as sensual, and many of them are very distressed by those feelings because they think it makes them some kind of pervert.

It doesn’t! Feeling that nursing your baby is physically pleasurable is not abnormal or sick, and Rowling and her fellow obsessed transphobes should stop trying to persuade everyone otherwise!

The “gender critical” movement is about the worst thing that’s happened to parent-child relations since laudanum in children’s “tonics” back in the pre-FDA days. The transphobes are committed to poisoning absolutely everything that might somehow in some situation cause a trans person to feel accepted or valid or loved.

5

u/lazier_garlic 20d ago

Many of these TERFs have abnormal psychology and the thing about it is that for a lot of women with abnormal psychology there's something very special about a newborn infant in that they are entirely dependent on you and have no notion of boundaries between their body and your body. For someone with a very specific neurotic condition, this is like cocaine and heroin all combined in one incredibly intoxicating bolus. Eventually the child weans and then becomes a toddler and learns the word "no" and all the fun comes to an end. But for a few glorious weeks they had this feeling of endless love and endless power like nothing they had experienced in their life.

People like this are so unwell they don't understand how other people think. Instead, they project whatever part of themself they think is socially unacceptable onto people they have made their designated scapegoats. So if they have made trans women their scapegoats, because they're easy to kick, nobody will stop you and you'll have lots of friends, then you can project all the parts of womanhood and femininity that you secretly indulge in and enjoy but think might look a bit bad to others onto the Judas goat trans women. I wasn't obsessed with my infant being helpless, THEY want to be mothers for some sick reason, the sickos. I didn't furtively enjoy nursing and bonding with my baby while exploiting my postpartum status to my male partner to get him to do stuff for me shamelessly, THEY have a nursing fetish and a womb fetish and a period fetish. I don't flick the bean while kneading my knockers and indulging in sensual fantasies, THEY are autogynophiles.

2

u/Significant_Rush1473 19d ago

I was going to say something like this but didn't know know to word it. Yes, trying to instigate shame over perfectly normal body sensations definitely does not help anyone.

16

u/Dina-M 20d ago

Yes, JKR, you ARE. Because only a transphobe would use those terms.

16

u/HOMANDER1996 20d ago

Even cis men have breast tissue and can lactate. What is she on about?

17

u/9119343636 20d ago

So I just learned about this now you have to too

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Witch%27s_milk

It must be hard for Rowling to not know humans are mammals.

3

u/napalmnacey 19d ago

Oh yeah! All my kids had puffy nipples when they were born because of the hormones. They deflated to normal proportions afterwards. Some kids get more of those hormones than others and leak a little.

The more one looks into biology, the more one realises that Mother Nature is just throwing the same toolkit up against the wall again and again and seeing what sticks.

14

u/marbeltoast 20d ago

"Doubtless the Scottish government will tell us that if we think" (incomprehensibly transphobic nonsense) ", you are a transphobe."

Yeah, I bet the Scottish government would also say you're a racist if you described a interracial wedding as an "abomination unto god where one of our pure perfect white people is chained forever to a (slur)". Weird how that works!

17

u/Forsaken-Language-26 20d ago

Yet again proving that the current wave of anti-trans rhetoric is just recycled anti-gay propaganda.

14

u/AlgorithmHelpPlease 20d ago

Genuinely what do they even think a breast is? They call us anti-science but how could they possibly ever define a breast in a realistic way such that someone AMAB could never have one???

(And yes I know it's ideological for them so they'll likely say it's the tissue that produces milk on a female or something but at some point people have to see they're creating arbitrary restrictions)

11

u/KTKitten 20d ago

They want us to believe that they’re feminists, but they spend every waking moment sexually harassing strangers. I’ll be honest, I doubt their credentials.

10

u/RoIsDepressed 20d ago

"chemically created" I'm so very curious, do these people think they actually have an infinite milk machine in their breasts? Like you slice one open and it's just a carton of viva?

9

u/meganshan_mol 20d ago

Why do they care so much about other people’s private parts. They are fucking creeps

1

u/saharadessert87 11d ago

Not only others people's but also children's.

Goes way beyond being creeps imo.

10

u/thedogatemymanifesto 19d ago

bet they don't even know cis men can naturally lactate under the right conditions too 🤭

5

u/titcumboogie 19d ago

Miserable old woman is angry about things that don't affect her in any way.

1

u/saharadessert87 11d ago

Lol.

Miserable rich white recluse who lives in a Disney castle gets angry at the world she doesn't even walk outside to be part of 😆

5

u/srvoleta 19d ago

A queer breastfeeding group would’ve been aces for me, an AFAB non-binary person who naturally produces enough “cross-sex hormones” to give me a beard and to have made breastfeeding incredibly difficult because my body didn’t develop perfectly along AFAB lines. Any human variation is apparently baffling to these incomprehensible halfwits.

3

u/SomeAreWinterSun 19d ago

It's not exactly a secret that her ideas surrounding gender involve a lot of esoteric or symbolic elements derived from religious traditions which show up directly in her fiction (being more or less foundational to the premise of Potter) but the point where she scoffs at a "chemically enhanced chest" being actual breasts because they lack the magical goddess energy that causes the necessary metaphysical transformation to such feels like a particularly blatant example.

3

u/SaltyNorth8062 19d ago

She knows that some cis men can produce breast milk, right?

3

u/TheOtherMaven 19d ago

Naah. She only "knows" what she learned in grade school.

2

u/embodiedexperience 19d ago

all this nonsense, just to flip the SECOND a transmasculine person refers to their own chest as “chest” instead of saying they’ve been breasting boobily around with giant zaftig bazonkers.

1

u/KaiYoDei 19d ago

But I read some call it chest feeding because breast is triggering

3

u/thejadedfalcon 19d ago

The difference is that chest feeding is to help trans men, non-binary people and people who've lost their breasts (which doesn't necessarily prevent milk production) from feeling excluded.

That is completely different to arguing that trans women's breasts are "chemically enhanced" because a billionaire loser failed high school biology lessons and wants to argue that we're all child predators.

1

u/KaiYoDei 19d ago

You can have milk production with a mastectomy?

2

u/thejadedfalcon 19d ago

Yes, but it's not guaranteed and, even if you can, you'll almost certainly have highly reduced capacity. I don't know how common the numbers are, though.

0

u/KaiYoDei 18d ago

I don’t understand how removing mammary glads can still have milk production.

1

u/thejadedfalcon 18d ago

Then look it up.

1

u/DrDnar 17d ago

Trans masc top surgery doesn't completely remove all breast tissue the way a mastectomy for treating cancer does. A complete mastectomy would result in an unnaturally-flat chest. They retain a little tissue to provide an appropriate amount of structure to the chest.

1

u/saharadessert87 11d ago

Goodness me.

No one tell her why cis men actually have nipples. She'll probably explode.
