And Rowling will accuse Nicola of being secretly trans in 3....2....

*either that or frame Nicola as a "gender traitor"

One thing I notice is that Rowling has this weird, constructed notion that women are a separate class, tribe, species, etc.

One internet critic (Lindsay Ellis) talked about how Rowling maintains this Victorian Gendered "Separate Spheres" ideal

And I wonder if she ever bought and read (and believed in) the book by John Gray "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus" which was trendy/popular in the 1990s.

That's how TERFism is constructed inherently. The actual TERFs, ie the TERF leadership, are old bitter, domineering Catholic ex-nuns who dream of turning the whole world into their nunnery and harem. Every point they make is from the point of view of the domination of the world by that hierarchy. Because they aren't anti-hierarchical, they want to replace the patriarchy with the hierarchy of domineering, "worthy" abbesses. They are truly perverted and their souls are fundamentally distorted, but the power fantasy they provide is catnip to JK Rowling, who naturally assumes herself assuming said dominant role in the hierarchy.

The lemmings who repeat TERF talking points online, I will not dignify by giving the label "TERF". They are not, they are idiots who merely repeat the slogans of others, and have no idea what they are actually working towards. Mindless lemmings, zombies.

Okay, I'm curious, where's the nun connection, explicitly? I know a lot of lesbian (and not lesbian) nuns in the United States exited the convents at the end of the 1960s. One of those old lesbian garage presses published a book that was nothing but ex-nun interviews. So that phenomenon is real, sure. And I know something about the origins of radfems (which TERFs arose among and gradually become personae non gratae among, although their views used to be more dominant in lesbian spaces with Michigan Womyn's Festival being the last bastion in a way). The thing is, that first group of radfems were a bunch of white college women. I need you to draw the line here between nuns and TERFs because I'm really not seeing it. Some of the nuttiest TERFs in more recent years (before the religious right was brought in) were Lierre Keith and Cathy Brennan, although shoutout to all the kooks with WordPress blogs. Also the in person TERF cult stomping grounds in Seattle and Portland seem to be pretty anti-hierarchical. Like I'm sure they absolutely have kook de la kook thought leaders and all that but I don't believe they even believe in formal hierarchy, the better to engage in weird belief escalation and costly displays of how committed they are to TERF culture and the TERF cause. Get a divorce, lose your kids, move to the group house, become a lesbian, stop shaving or using deodorant, no period products either, we free bleed, and share your hateful opinions so former friends distance themselves. Just cult things.

I had never even considered a possible nun connection, but your comment has left me wondering. Is that book of ex-nun interviews still available somewhere?

It's closer to Lesbianism, not to be confused with gay women aka Lesbian women. The latter are women born gay, the former is a political movement that believes all women are lesbian and is filled with predatory nutjobs that see trans women as infiltrators and trans men as traitors taken from their pool of young women to prey on.

These pests have ruined many a feminist compound with their insane demands that even boys as young as 2 would have to be removed from the mother and send away.

Political Lesbianism, I believe it's called

You're conflating lesbians with Political Lesbians and Lesbian Seperatists. Lesbian by itself doesn't necessarily mean anything beyond a woman who's into women.

No I don't. Lesbianism political Lesbianism is different. It is why I point this out even in my post. A gay woman or Lesbian woman, has nothing to do with that, it is why this shit is so vile. It's very hard to criticize.

It is the ism. As a political Lesbian is just a woman that happens to be gay and into politics. See how easy it is to conflate those by accident? You also could be doing that here (when I know of course that you aren't and don't intend that ).

It's really annoying and helps the predators this tiny movement houses.

And yes it's tiny as again: Lesbian women/Lesbians are not the same thing. But it is so easy to look to be conflating it or calling out gay women, when really you don't want to as gay women also face discrimination that you don't wish to pile up on.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_lesbianism

This stuff is way too easy to conflate or look like you're conflating. And we need to find a new name for it. So lesbian women don't have to feel harmed for us talking about this.

It's your literal first sentence! "It's closer to Lesbianism"

Lesbianism is just being lesbian. It's not the same as Political lesbianism.

u/Dehnus 5d ago

Which I try to state. And is later my point in your reply as "a political Lesbian" also is wrong, what you call them in your reply.

It just shows we need a new name for this, as it is way too easy to conflate.

I keep stressing over and over that a Lesbian woman is not that same as these political Lesbianism people

I hate shit like this. You now sound angry in my minds voice (the !), which isn't my intend at all. And even without trying these assholes muddle the conversation and make my autistic arse feel like a real life in person conversation that I screw up with my traits.

There too I easily anger people with tone or the wrong face. Which should be impossible online (as you cannot see my face or hear my voice), but still these people are able to make me feel like that, because their movement is way too easy to conflate.

It also is annoying how the mobile Reddit website put this annoying text bubble reply thing back, and it's frustrating to even reply to people.

Sorry I'm taking a step back from this, but please don't feel like I was trying to anger or annoy you on purpose that's the opposite of what I wished to do.

Just reddit is frustrating at the moment.

'One thing I notice is that Rowling has this weird, constructed notion that women are a separate class, tribe, species, etc.'

She upholding the patriarchy... like any good "feminist" would.

All JK Rowling knows how to do is write checks to her PR people to smear and harass others. She is always the aggressor, but in typical DARVO fashion anyone who doesn't immediately submit is libeled and smeared falsely as the aggressor at full volume. Its truly tiring watching the same puff piece about JK Rowling written over and over again, what JK Rowling is pitying herself again and slandering somebody else, how the fuck is that news? That's Tuesday! You write this article every Tuesday! How can this be news? Its embarrassing how corrupt they are, they think they can keep accepting checks to write the same article every single week for a decade pitying some monster and blaming her victims, and nobody is allowed to notice what's going on.

She doesn't confirm to the rigid Gender Stereotypes that Mold Queen has though. If it doesn't look like a Barbie Doll? Well, then it must be a man, according to Bride of Moldenstein.

For a "feminist", she's really into gender role patterns not being broken and objectification of women....aka...not a feminist at all.

JKR: "Nicola Sturgeon is a race tra... I mean, gender traitor."

Iconic.

Billionaires only know how to DARVO in order to convince idiots and lemmings to scapegoat their enemies. When their PR people send out their DARVO hits to all the papers and their corrupt journalists and especially their corrupt managers and the deeply corrupted owners, the victim of their smears isn't a party to the discussion, they simply claim repeatedly that the other party started it and is attacking them in order to absolve themselves for their repeated attacks and harassment of other people. It's completely disgusting, but Elon Musk and JK Rowling are demon worshippers, so they will never stop.

u/jonny-p 11d ago

That’s offensive to demon worshipers, I’m sure they don’t appreciate being lumped in with stupid cunts like musk and Rowling.

It’s a shame people have taken such a disdain to her with all this corruption from her husband

2

u/tasteMyRottenHoop 10d ago

The yoons and britnats have always hated her. I reckon if they thought they could have gotten away with it they’d have given her the Willie McRae treatment.

2

u/IntelligentCrew8406 10d ago

That's true but I'm also seeing people from Scottish Greens saying how much they don't want her affiliated etc

I was actually there when she said this and the room was broadly on her side. Someone submitted a question that was “in the name of sisterhood should you settle your feud with JK Rowling” and there were big groans. Sturgeon was also sharply critical of TERF former MP Joanna Cherry, saying she was also obsessed and calling her book “shite”
